I started coloring my sketch, but I don't know if I'll get it finished.

@Banxey - hahaha, my first thought was of Frankenfurter from Rocky Horror! XD
I've been thinking about the Quizzie I'd pair with Solas (as I obsessively like to plan ahead), and I think he might get my first playthrough (femHuman). Iron Bull might give him some competition, but I like the idea of a human with a very pro elf-supporter which is what I imagine Solas to "represent" until we are told otherwise.
I also really like Dorian, but I def think he's gay as a Christmas pageant.
But again this is all pure speculation based on nothing but a bald head so....we need a bio!!!
I didn't realize how much I wanted a Jareth mod for Solas until this very moment.
...I may be slightly obsessed with Scottish accents though!
Ohhh, if Solas has a Scottish accent I'll know every line of his dialogue just from dragging him around with me and making him talk all the time, even if it's just to repeat the same things. I may be slightly obsessed as well. ![]()
Interesting idea about the Scotch Bonnet double meaning... I do like David Tenant but as a Scottish person, living in Glasgow, that accent is everywhere!! I favor something a bit more exotic
![]()
Luckyyyyy! I'd love to see Glasgow someday. I understand though. It's why I have no intention of using the American accents for my Inquisitor. I hear that accent ALL THE TIME, including from my own mouth, so I'd generally rather hear something different.
My internet went out and I was bored. Don't judge me.
Admit it. Jareth-ish make up makes his pretty eyes stand out.
I'm sorry, Solas.
Solas: "I ask for so little. Just fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave."
Inquisitor: "Sounds good to me!"
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. ![]()
Bioware should be proud of themselves for not making all the companions traditionally attractive. I think they all look wonderful.
Everyone has their attractions and preferences, and that's fine, but if you ask me the only character some people should be focusing on as being ugly is their own. And that, at least, is something they have in their power to change.
/looks at our friendly little village and frowns loudly
Seems like the flames of our conversations are dying out again. Time to scrounge up enough artwork to make it to the next game convention, yes?

It brings out his eyes!!
when is the next event where (maybe) we can hope to see more about the companions?
All I can say is that I really like the new style of the characters. Less "beautiful and without imperfections" and more "real". Now the characters seems like actually persons. well, maybe in DAO that was already done, in the limits permitted by the engine and in the male characters, at least. Morrigan, Leliana and most of the females where all quite beautiful. Alistair was cute, but wasn't exactly the most handsome guy ever.
In DA2 most of the characters where quite similar one to another, with few exceptions, but all the females where all quite good looking, if not beautiful. but in "anime like" way. the faces where mostly all identical, with a few changes in the form of the eyes. the only exception where Aveline and some of the elves. (but for the elves the exception was being at least watchable)
I think a lot of people is simply confused by the most realistic graphic of DAI. Is like passing from a manga to a telefilm.
The more I see Solas' bald head, the more it grows on me. The fact is whether it has any significance or not, that is how his character chooses to appear, so I'm not going to try and change him.
As for the voice, I think I would prefer a Scottish brogue over an Irish accent but I like Welsh best. However, I seem to recall the reason most of the Dalish in DA2 were Irish was that they couldn't find enough Welsh accents, or fake Welsh accents, to voice them. Merrill was the real deal. A deep Welsh male voice is, think, one of the most sexy sounding on earth. Not too extreme, just enough to give it that lyrical lilt. But any Celtic accent will do, provided it is rich and low in pitch. I think he definitely needs a unique accent that makes him stand out from rest.
uhm...I think the next one will be Dorian, since we have seen him in the E3 demo. (of course I would prefer Solas...
)

Probably. But we saw Solas so long agoooo! It's about time we finally get some info! I wonder what the big secret is or if the marketing team is just really screwing up or something. I have to admit that I've been less than impressed with it so far.
Maybe there is a reason why we haven't got more information about Solas or there isn't
I don't know. Sometimes I think that maybe he is so important that he is the last one whom we get more information. I also doubt that they would be thinking should he be LI or not. I think that is decided already.

I've been thinking this for a while, it certainly seems like they're first giving us the ones we've definitely seen in the demos (or are slightly familiar with, in Cass and Varric's case). So, going by that logic, Dorian would be next (granted, there hasn't been a little interview for Varric has there? So that may come first), and then Solas/Raggedy Rogue/advisers.

If he is a LI (I hope he is, I hope he is, I hope he is) it was probably decided a lot of time ago. Since it was said romance will be more important (or at least interactive) this time around, the content must have been made quite early in the game. ![]()

I have a good feeling that Solas is going to be LI. Let's hope I'm right ![]()

It was probably decided before we'd even seen the characters. That's why I don't get why people think who a LI will be is based on how many fans the character has. The romances were decided before each character gained its fanbase. All the size of the fanbase determines is how many people will be disappointed when a character turns out not to be a LI or is unavailable to their Inquisitor ![]()
So for those who think Solas's relatively small fanbase is a sign against his LI status, take heart! It very likely has nothing to do with it.
If he's not a LI, he can still be a best friend. A few pages back we were saying it would be great if he was like Mordin and he wasn't a LI. However, I have to admit that my worst case scenario is Solas not a romance and Dorian gay, because that would mean my female Inquisitor was really limited in who she was going to romance. My male Inquisitor is already down to just one, Cassandra, unless Vivienne turns out to be a much nicer person when you get to know her or Scribbles is a love interest.
Of course if Solas is bisexual then they could both end up romancing him. It would be in keeping with previous games: Most romanced by my Wardens of either sex in Origins: Zevran. Most romanced by either sex of my Hawkes: Fenris. Like I've said before, I've a thing about elves (sexy male ones anyway).
Man, I knew it was going to be Varric. I JUST KNEW.
At this point, I think Solas will be last or next to last revealed. It's between him and Cole. I tell myself it's because he's just that important to the plot.
I think the reveals should go Solas - Dorian - "Cole". Solas first because we got a good look at him first and we're really in need of more info after that, plus we already got a bit of Dorian. Dorian after that because of his E3 reveal and "Cole" last because they seem determined to keep that a mystery.
But Dorian will probably be first. Huff.

way, way before! probably even before the concept art, or in that period. the romance, if I have understand correctly, is decide while writing the character.
Surely is not influenced by the fan bese, that expecially in this stage (when we know very little about the characters) is based mostly on speculations.
For example: I'm sure that Anders was quite popular before DA2 was out (didn't have internet at the time, so I don't know), expecially as a romancable character, since people based their expectations on DAA Anders (so a funny mage with little respect for autority, expecially of the templar kind) and expected Merrill being a mature Dalish First.
how cruelly have been cut the expectations? I count myself first, since I was at first a happy girl to have Anders, and than had to rectify my entusiasm, since the character wasn't even near similar to how it was in DAA. So from "expected most loved romance" became "not so great, really" playng the game.
As pessimistic as it sound, for all we know Cullen may became something like Anders in DAA, since he can suffer from abstinance from Lyrium (being a Templar, and knowing the Inquisition isn't probably anymore related with the Chantry...is possible he can't anymore assume his drug), and do something just as crazy. Of course I hope is not the case, and the excuse "I've gone craaaaaaaaaazy" ended with DA2. But is just to point that fan bases before the game is out is not to take in consideration both with new characters, than with old ones.
