I'm thinking (hoping) that Dorian is gay, Solas is bi and IB is the 'extra' LI (and thus, as an extra, is likely to be race-gated). 

 

But like many of you, I'm bracing myself to hear that Solas isn't a LI at all.

Though I could see Solas not being an LI at all, I also know that my predictions are very often wrong and some seemingly sure BSN assumptions have been totally incorrect (I'm looking at you, Sera) so I'm not going to get totally down in the dumps about it.  Que sera, sera

These are exactly my thoughts! I reaaaally hope this is the case, for some reason I just think that making Solas bi would be the most logical thing to do, because he's the only male elf in the party, in my mind it would be a bit weird to not have him romanceable. But unfortunatly we're not the ones who decide those things   I'm also really anxious about assuming that Solas is a LI so I'm trying to assume the worst, because then I'll be disappointed later but not as much as I would've if I had hyped myself for a romanceable Solas. But I'll definitely have him in my party because if he's not a love interest he'll be one of my inquisitors best friends definitely. I don't want to miss out on that elf, so I'd probably have to hug Cole for the first few hours like a few hundred times whilst playing the game, staring at Solas with puppy eyes because he's out of my (romance) league

I'm always wary of being too confident in what seems to be logical to me.   I learned the hard way with ME3 that my logic and bioware logic are not in sync

If Solas is the m/m romance, I can already hear the snarky remarks of the more homophobic fans (or simply the less mature ones) about elves risking extintion due to the fact that there aren't straight elves, and so reproduction is a rare or forced thing...

that would be even worse than the "all elves are bi" stereotype.

 

I can't whait for some new pics of Solas.

I'm wondering if Solas isn't going to be Gaider's special project character that he's been wanting to write for fifteen years. Everyone assumed that was Cole, but Weekes is helming Cole, so that leaves Solas and Dorian, and Solas is one they've been much more tight lipped about.

My point is there's really no need to make yourself miserable by agonizing over it... if it turns out to be that you can't have the character as an LI, well... it's a character in a video game.  What does that affect in the long run?  And you can write fanfic if you're really that torn up about it.

 

As for me, I want Solas to be an LI, but I want him to be bi, not m/m, so I can get a piece of him too, since I mostly play lady characters.  But, I think it's not going to happen.  Dorian will be m/m, oodles of female fans will be crushed, we'll get Iron Bull as male bisexual LI, Cullen as straight, and my Inquisitors will ALL be celibate 'cause I'm not into alpha males or mage-haters.  But I'll survive and I'll still enjoy the game.

 

Ah well if Solas is m/m, I guess I'll just have to switch up my first playthrough. I'm not at all opposed to playing a dude but I really wanted to play a female Inquisitor first, though, because my canon Hawke playthrough is male. But for Solas, I shall persevere 

 

And then I guess I'll have Cullen and Iron Bull for my female Inquisitor. Dorian isn't catching my interest anymore as a LI, for some reason, but at least it seems like IB may be available!

As to the rest, not even gonna worry about his LI status right now. I think it was Mike Laidlaw who said the romances are "all over the map" this time, and I'm confident I'll want to play through at LEAST two of the romances as a ladyquisitor (which is my preference), so it's all good.  I mean, I'll probably even romance Iron Bull if he's available, and I didn't think I would until I watched his VA video. Just keeping my fingers crossed that Solas doesn't get left out, but I'm super happy with everything so far.   THINK POSITIVE. 

 

Or just drink a few margaritas in the afternoon, it's been working for me...

I am going to think positive today and say I feel we might get Solas instead of Dorian for the next picture/quote.

 

I base this entirely on the fact that I had my second Solas dream last night - which consisted of my brain apparently thinking Game Informer did a whole issue just on the companion reveals, so I was reading the article and getting excited about Solas... who, apparently, was characterized as some sort of "mad scientist"/Avernus type of character, given he's a Fade expert. Made me chuckle. 

 

Figure I have a 50/50 shot that such a dream was either prophetic/premonition or simply further proof that alcohol is rapidly consuming my brain cells.

As they're the only character who I'd want to be a LI (for my femquisitor, I never play as a male if I have the option to be a female in games) I will be really upset if they're not.

I'll probably even bust my head open on a wall.

Y'know I've been wondering this for sometime ....why doesn't Gaider ever come in here and say something? I've seen him in other threads but not this one.

Well, I can't say specifically, I'm certainly not *in the know* but I have noticed that usually when he shows up it's either to snark, or to dispel some insanity that is getting out of control. We're pretty tempered, all around, we don't work ourselves up into a frothing mob over an idea or jump to conclusions, We're also fairly easy going and friendly towards...well everybody. So, I guess we haven't caught his attention or that if he has read any of the thread we didn't hit him in his whimsy. (or catch him on a good day.) *shrugs* Solas writer also has not been announced and if it's him or even not him, he might not want people jumping to conclusions about who it is.

Yeah we are a friendly bunch no doubt about that it's just I saw him in the Dorian thread awhile ago answering a question going on there about Jennifer Hepler writing Cassandra...it's really no big deal I was just curious ,it was probably a dumb question to ask in the first place.

I'd say it's a good sign that there aren't a lot of bioware devs or employees showing up here, because most of the time they do if there's something bad going on that they're trying to clear up or solving disputes. So that only proves that were doing a good job here in our little village I guess? Though I wouldn't mind if they'd occasionally come in here just to be sassy or troll us, because that's part of the fun too
