Um, we only one have one "emo" mage - Anders. Merrill wasn't one, Morrigan wasn't one, and neither was Wynne.
Why do you say that about Anders? He whined and bitched but he did something about it without cutting his wrists.

I was just saying that if any considered remotely close to "emo" (I don't think any of them are), the closest I could think of would be Anders.

Merrill was kinda a little. She was very pouty about the eluvian and her clan. Both Anders and Merrill were very... poor little me in Dragon Age 2 which is decidedly different than the self confident mages we had in Origins.

Ah, my mistake then. Yes out of the others he would be the 'emo' of the group if there were to be one.

True. Though I think overall, Fenris wins for "most emo character in the Dragon Age games thus far". Even his hair fits the part, though it would fit even more if it was black. ![]()

Now now. Anders was emo and "poor little me" on the behalf of ALL mages and not just himself.

The music certainly does not help when he decides to carry on about how terrible his life is.

If sitting around brooding in a dilapidated mansion surrounded by corpses of your fallen foes that you never removed after nearly a decade isn't emo, I don't know what is.
One day he set his hair on fire and had to shave what was left off. He decided he liked that look.
Or maybe he's always been bald. Bald....everywhere. Everywhere.
Well, that's almost canon for elves. Or maybe it is, i've never bothered to check.
I wonder if there was any official lore on this one....
*summon Lobs*

Seriously, I'm not certain how they will go with the redesign. The elves from Dragon Age II didn't have any beards, so it's possible it's been changed for elves to not have beards (as suggested by Merrill's joke about Duncan's beard). However, there's no telling whether or not Inquisition's revamped elves are able to grow beards.

True. I was just saying... a self-confident and self-assured mage would be a nice change after... well... all of DA2 being about how broken everyone is.

The Fen can't let go, baby. He just can't let go.

If he was living in modern day, he'd be blasting My Chemical Romance in that mansion. And maybe some Linkin Park.
To bring the topic back to Solas, I have to say that I'll be sorely disappointed if there isn't any banter with Vivienne about his....fashion sense. Or lack thereof.

They could always put the running joke in about rubbing his head for luck.

I would LOVE this. Neediness is a natural part of the world, but it'd be nice to have him as a companion who is confident in his ability and offers his strength to our Inquisitor without making us feel like he'll fall apart every time we look away. I can't imagine the Inquisitor knowing everything there is to know about everything, so I'd imagine she needs specialists with their own strengths. If he does turn out to be a Fade expert, I want him to stand up to my character, tell her when she's wrong... assert his dominance when he knows best. BE MY ROCK, SOLAS!

I want him to come waltzing in like a fade-expert, fire-shooting boss and tell my Inquisitor what's what. Oh yes, some confidence would be more than welcome. Considering that look Solas has on his face in all the concept art, that might be spot on.

Or she could use it as a substitute for a mirror, if she ever to lose one while on the march.

Sigh. We weren't exactly talking about beards, our poor innocent Lobs. Sometimes you do remind me of your precious Merril.

Very well summarized. *applaus* A companion standing tall on his own two feet.
(and its hot)

LOL. All I could think was, "So... you want a Kaidan?" Hahaha. =)

Beards was safer to address on the overall issue of elven hair, unless this is turning into an NC-17 rated thread.

^THIS. I want my party to be brimming with mage sass.

Pointing the obvious, the game is M rated.
