Nah, just put her in a box and send her to Tevinter.
Why? I'll just get her back an act or two later with a big stamp on the box reading "Return to sender".

Which makes me wonder, if she's a mandatory companion, why she would automatically sign up with the Inquisitor, unless she's serving as a neutral party (which has come up because of some developer comments made about Cassandra). I would find it weird if she thought the Inquisitor would automatically help her with her goals; it's not like the thought wouldn't cross her mind if the Inquisitor is Vashoth or Dalish, since the two groups aren't on the best of terms with either the Chantry or the Chantry controlled Circles (moreso with the latter). If Cassandra seeks to restore the status quo of the Chantry controlled Circles, I can see that being an issue with an apostate like Solas, who may likely oppose that goal.
That's an interesting observation. You could very well be right about Vivienne and Solas.
Cassandra likely supports the recreation of the Inquisition because there are giant holes in the sky vomiting up demons and the Templars have both broken away from the Chantry and gone a little crazy. Historically speaking, the Inquisition handled such problems, and while Cassandra is part of the Chantry, she's seen enough of Chantry politics to know that an independent organization might be a good thing.
I'm guessing.
I was just thinking about how they seem to have pretty similair viewpoints-- both of them very pro-Chantry and pro-Circle, and both of them kind of pragmatic about their methods (like Cassandra supporting the Inquisitor's actions in the demo seems to hint). I think they might just get along pretty well. Or that they'll dislike each other the moment they realize how similair they are. Either could happen.
I am actually extremely fascinated by the way Solas and Vivienne are just total polar opposites in every possible way. I have no doubt he's going to be the pro-rebellion, anti-chantry/anti-circle one, and probably more idealistic and moral in his methods. Being an elf and expreriencing the double opression that comes with that probably didn't help his view of the Chantry much. (And quite correctly too, because the Chantry is kind of a really terrible, terrible institution, but...) I am really, really looking forward to his party banters with her, but I'm also probably going to yet again end up in a mildly uncomfortable situation where I'm conflicted because I love two characters with extremely opposing views, one of which I highly agree with and the other which I highly disagree with.
IIRC, both supported the choice the Inquisitor made while Varric was against it.
So, now that we have full confirmation that Viveinne will oppose the mage rebellion, that would seem to cast Solas as our pro-rebellion voice. Not surprising given that, aside from being a foil to Viveinne in every conceivable way, we have art that apparently depicts him defending a camp of rebel mages against a templar attack.
I am seeing some potential in the dynamic between him and Viveinne and Cassandra that pique my interest in the character a bit, but at the same time I'm concerned, given how much Anders pro-rebellion stance made me dislike him.
I hope they handle it with a bit more grace, this time around.
****. Not that I mind it for Solas, but if he's a love interest, I'll be unable to romance him and it'll be another Anders situation, without even the benefit of someone more perfect than Anders for me.
I really, really hope he's not Dalish.
I wonder if Vivienne will toss his salad...
Edit: Wait, what?
I wonder if Vivienne will toss his salad...
She'll toss a table with the salad.
I really, really hope he's not Dalish.
All signs point to no. He doesn't have any tattoos and Dalish get those when they're tweens.

1) No tattoos.
2) Pants.
3) Boots

I don't think so... from what very little we've seen, he appears to be just a straight up apostate. Which might put him in the realm of Morrigan's "You stupid Circle Mages. SIGH." wheelhouse.

Oh right. He has shoes. Definitely not a Dalish then. =oP

....Now I'm wondering whether Dalish PCs will be forced to go barefoot. Silly as it sounds, that might make me reconsider playing one.
I think that if he is part of the rebellion, which I believe he will be, he'll be so in a very humble respect, contrast to Viveinne's high society image and Anders' delusions of being a grand revolutionary.
He aint lightin' no candles, that's fer sure.

I think that might be the case about the default outfit, until you change your clothes/armor.

Humble definitely comes to mind when I look at him. Anders was dramatic, even in his appearance. Solas looks... neutral.
Vivienne and Anders would NOT get along based on what we know of her personality. I can just see them arguing bitterly and maybe Solas comes along like "settle down, children". I don't get the impression that he's a super fanatic rebellious mage like Anders but then again, it's hard to beat someone with a spirit of Vengeance in his head when it comes to pure and single-minded and merciless drive. There is no possible way Solas would compare to Anders in that respect and I don't think the devs would make that many parallels to a very important character in a previous game.
I have no problem with Solas's looks or his baldness...the underwear is what's getting me lol! ![]()
Anyways I can't wait to find out more about him and really hope he is an LI! And look no offense but if you don't like that he is an LI then just pick someone else *shrug*

Hello to you too fellow forumite ![]()
The guy with the mustache in the war room concept art reminds me of Sjin from the Yogscast
Anyway IMO this guy looks like he would be a default model of the beginning of a character, simply because he looks so...plain...I mean at least give the man a face tattoo or something to make him interesting looking :3
Apostates generally want to look plain, I guess.

Hello! Buenas noches. ![]()
I'm also curious about Solas. I wonder how the Inquisitor encounters him, too.
I'm happy he is bald and does not look "attractive". Not everyone in our party should be sexy they make you swoon.
