I can't tell if those pictures were meant to be funny or serious?
If you can't tell that some of my posts are a little bit of both, you're not paying attention. ![]()
BTW, I try to be careful about that, because many times I'm actually quite serious, at least about things that I think do actually matter. ![]()
There are a lot of bald guys out there doing real well in the lovin' department. Honestly.
I understand you can't beat some chicks off this guy with a stick!

BTW, just a question, based on your question: do you know who Telly Savalas and Yul Brynner are? ![]()
Plus, man oh man, Patrick Stewart ... there are many ladies who want to "Make It So" with him! ![]()
(Oh and one more thing, no, personally, I'm not bald; and no that's not my avatar.

Vin Diesel..... never liked him.
I swear this is the kind of thing I would probably never repost, but ... since ...

Well, the above dudes don't have large, pointy ears. They're humans. Bald Elf Guy, imo, looks bad because he's bald and has those pointy ears. Not a good mix.
And if he's an LI I'll just smack a fabulous hat on his head.

I'm feeling the bald.
Many hot bald guys, like Jason Statham. Yummmmmmy.

Bald elves are a no-no
but a lot of bald men, well... ![]()
OK. So it's bald elves that are the problem.

Well bald can be hot, but some of that concept art makes him look old and haggard. Not sure yet what I think of this possible companion.
What makes you think that?

I love how basically the only thing we can think of to talk about is that he's bald.
I love how basically the only thing we can think of to talk about is that he's bald.
Nothing else to talk about since we know next to nothing about him.
I this he is Dorian Pavus. His elven Origins can explain his biography. But why he is bald? Doesn't looks good. In War room he is better.

It was inferred a few weeks ago by David Gaider in another thread that "Dorian" is not the bald elf and the BSN assumed it with our powers of baseless speculation. I'm no good at finding quotes so you or someone else will have to dig for it if you care.
Yeah I remember seeing something like that, but at the time I thought it was a more general "why are you people speculating with so little information?"
I don't see anybody else being Dorian among the characters we've already seen (a third mage would be unusual, no?), and I hardly think they would've gone to the effort of developing a character bio etc for someone who was never intended to be in the game. David's inclusion of a line about an exiled Tevinter healer in Until We Sleep also made me think it was paving the way for Dorian as a character.
Then again, maybe the character was cut or changed if/when they decided we wouldn't be going to Tevinter. Hard to tell, and if he ends up not being in the game we probably won't ever know why.
Why would 3 mages be unusual if there are 9 companions?
This reminds me SO much of a MEG thread, its eerie.
If he's a David Gaider's char, he's definitely gonna be LI. I've yet to see any DG's companion, who didn't turn out to be romanceable. He's just too good at it ![]()
Is it assumed that the companions will be equally divided among the classes? Origins tended to favour warriors, if I remember correctly.
We already know three warriors (Cassandra, Iron Bull, Grey Warden) and possibly a fourth in Spear Guy and/or/potentially Cullen.
I suppose Dorian could be another character who we haven't seen at all yet, but given the concept art they've released it seems unlikely.
Elf is mage. Just look at him.
Also, realistically where can mages come from? They're restricted by geography, species and class politics (which isn't the best term, but I'll roll with it) in a way that rogues and warriors aren't. Anyone from any species can pick up an axe and plausibly be a warrior, but mages have very specific backgrounds.
They're either in Circles, or on the run as apostates, or from Dalish tribes, or... from Tevinter. We've had Circle mages (Wynne, Vivienne, Anders), apostates (Bethany, Morrigan, Velanna, Sketch, Anders again), a Dalish mage (Merrill).
All that's missing is a magister, which is why I think there's a good chance of one in DA:I. We have Vivienne to represent the Circle, wouldn't an apostate companion just set up the sort of debate we had for about eighty thousand hours in DA2?
I think the ideological differences between a Tevinter magister and someone like Vivienne would be way more interesting, not to mention with plenty of banter potential.
Yes, 90% he is magister in distress. We have Circle's mage Vivienne and there were dalish mage- Merril. There were a lot of apostates, but we have seen famous magisters.
I think there's a small chance he might the Javik of DAI. I'd prefer if he was the magister though.
Oh, please no. I've had enough Javik characters with Javik.
Mind that with 'Javik' i meant an ancient elf, not Javik's personality.Oh, please no. I've had enough Javik characters with Javik.
