Why do i think that Solas is going to be rather naive about... some things? I dunno, call me crazy.

It looks like he's continuing the Dragon Age tradition of interesting but handsome noses!

I really liked Anders' nose, so bring 'em on!  I can't imagine Bioware dangling this interesting, badass, beautiful character in front of us just to shut us down in the romance department.  Wait, that sounds JUST LIKE BIOWARE!  You evil, sadistic, wonderful tormentors.

Why do i think that Solas is going to be rather naive about... some things? I dunno, call me crazy.

I'm no scholar on the subject, but I'd be willing to help him find his way

Naive about what, exactly?  Sex?  He looks like he's lived in the wilderness, so I'm pretty sure he's not going to be clueless about that.

Relationships?  Maybe.  Dealing with other people?  Again, maybe.

Without knowing much about his background, it's hard to say what he's going to be like.  For all we know, he's going to be like a male Witch of the Wilds.

His character seems interesting. I want to know what it means that he's allegedly a "fade expert".

I'm not interested in him as a love interest, though.

It sounds like he had some kind of training and must be knowledgeable, which means he might not be just some apostate of the wilds.

I wonder if he is/was Dalish. Maybe he was a Keeper or in training once.

He would have the tattoos if he'd been Dalish for that long so I'm not sure that's it. He might be a circle escapee.

Finally a close-up (kinda). Love the face.

But Im sorry, the baldness IS truly not sexy. It kind of puts me off. I still have a burning hope for some hair on that eyeball-looking head of his. That would make him look GORGEOUS... Aaah..please. Thats my only hope right now.

bald h8as to the left...

Oh, yeah, that makes sense. It's possible he was in the circles up until the collapse. He seems like he's probably been in the wilds for a while, though.

Socializing and courting, i guess? Or maybe not naive, but awkward.

He could be a Dalish who was taken by Templars at a young age (Marethari says the clan usually moves to avoid their notice).  If he escaped when the Circles collapsed, he might have shaved his head and chosen inconspicuous clothes (as in, not "HEY LOOK I'M A MAGE" robes) to change his appearance on the run.

If he IS the mage in contention with Vivienne, that might be why. The pro-circle mage versus the mage that escaped from the circle possibly a long time ago and likely doesn't support the circle system at all. Would make for some tension, I imagine! Maybe the circle wasn't fond of all of his research and connection to the fade.

Honestly, he's such a blank slate character at this point and I'm so curious to know what his deal is!

The fact that they specifically called him an "apostate" makes me think that he is probably against the circle system, whatever his background is.

Hmmm, I wonder if playing an elf will have any connection with him. Maybe you're part of the same Dalish clan and watched him get taken away by Templars when you were really young or something like that.

He might not be a Dalish, but he might've spent some time with them during his days on the run. Remember Pol - http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Pol ? He hasn't had vallaslin.

I think they said before that city elves were always welcome to come back to the Dalish. They even took Feynriel and he was only half elven. I don't know if they generally get the tattoos if they're with the clan for a certain period or not.

My hope is that they haven't decided on the hair situation yet... so he's appearing in-game as bald LOL *please please let it be so*

Somebody major close-upped somehow.

Me gusta.

I can't unsee a mix of Gollum and Gru  :pinched: Even if we can't have the ponytail, maybe we could at least have a shaved head instead of bald. But, I will agree with Solas fans that he has a lovely face, AND that he sounds like a very interesting character, from what little we know :)

Sheesh remind me never to shave my head, apparently it's the most hideous thing on the planet.

Not that I'd ever look like Solas considering I'm female. And not an elf.

The lack of hair is the main reason I'm totally uninterested in him as a love interest, too, I'll be honest.

Personally I think huge beards are much less attractive than baldness. Mr. Grey Warden looks like an interesting character but that beard's too much for me!

I feel a sense of kinship with Solas because I am nearly bald myself. We stand together against the waking tide of superficial criticism.

I'm pretty sure, that I will throw all my prejudices about looks out of the window, once i would meet some of these wonderfully written characters. And if Warden, IB, Solas or Vivienne would pull at my strings, i will love them as a person, not because they have or doesn't have a beard, horns, bald or wear fancy hats. Anything of this won't matter to me then.

That's why i don't put any negative comments or drool over what they look like.

I can't think of a single DA character I didn't enjoy (I don't have to like their character to enjoy them) once I got to know them, so I see no reason to judge them negatively in advance based on appearance.  The same should be said about making positive comments on their appearance, but I think all of the DA:I characters so far are quite beautiful in their uniqueness and have a hard time not drooling   Maybe I'm just frothing at the mouth to learn more about them, which might sound less creepy.  But really, I find that the attention being given to every character and the practice of using their appearance to further express their personality makes them all visually appealing, so I don't really have anything negative to say about them regardless of how they fit into my real life perceptions of attractiveness.
