I can definitely see why someone wouldn't find him attractive, I guess I just have a hard time containing my excitement Hopefully if he is a LI, he's written so well that people can romance him anyway.  The LIs in the previous two games were appealing to me, but I can imagine I'd feel a little disappointed if I didn't have any romance options I found attractive or interesting.  I'd cope with it, obviously, but it might take the wind out of my sails if there wasn't a romance I really felt excited about pursuing.

 

Do you think they'll announce the LIs or just let us figure it out?

 

Oh I totally get why someone wouldn't find him attractive. Geez, we've barely seen the guy's face, haha! I swear I'm mostly in love with him for his non-traditional companion look and the food he was compared to and that air of mystery surrounding him. Oooooh mysterious~

 

As for the LI thing, how did it work with the DA2 reveal? I didn't stalk DA2 before release so I don't know.

God I hope they announce them! I know there are people who don't want to be spoiled and want to find out in game who the LIs are. But I'm one of those who read the wiki guides to the various romances from top to bottom as I played through the games LOL 

 

As for whether I think they will not, I think they will, if only for marketing reasons. Romances, especially with BioWare, are huge pulls for prospective players.

Me either, but I THINK players were told as each companion was released whether or not they were a LI.

Hmmm... if that's true and they continue with that idea then I'm even more interested in the upcoming Follower Fridays.  It would rule out Varric, Vivienne and Cassandra so they'd have to introduce two more ladies (Sera + someone else).

I reeeaaallly hope that they announce the LIs. I tend to build my protagonists around what LI I want them to be with, so I don't want to go into the game blind and have a protagonist that doesn't mesh with the person I want to romance.

 

And I also just wanna squee over the LIs before the game comes out.

I liked the elf woman but the guy kinda had this derpy face; like I could seriously picture his hands off camera pointing at me in a dorky kinda way lol

Wow...so many people here disliking bald male elves and yet Vivienne is bald. 

 

Personally, my Inquisitor would take Solas over Vivienne any day. Solas seems down to earth practical kind of guy. I like that a lot. I prefer down to earth practical mage over pointlessly extravagant diva mages. 

 

I guess that must mean I am one of the few who prefers Solas over Vivienne.

I'm just happy that, from what we've seen of his face, they seem to have toned down the anime-y, bug-eyed look of DA2 elves.

Idk, i found it rather endearing, that they gave DA elves a distinct look, rather than make them slim humans with pointy ears, as too many franchises/universes did/do.

Yeah, the part that gets awkward for me is when people imply he'll be more attractive if Bioware tells us that his head is shaved and not naturally hairless.  It feels awkward because there are plenty of bald/balding men and women and it could be hurtful to read the hate.

Yeah, it makes me sad :< some of the devs including David Gaider(who possibly writes Solas) are bald and so many people are saying this mean stuff. I know I got my feelings hurt when people were trashing Isabella's looks and saying her breasts were ridiculous and she was a freak and no real person would ever look like that. I look like that.

I like that they made them distinctive but it was just a little too cartoonish for my tastes (I didn't hate it, clearly, because Fenris was Hawke's LI on my "canon" playthrough). They still look distinct from humans in DAI based on the busts but not quite as intensely, I guess?

Well that's why my FB selfies/avatars are always the product of 20-30 attempts before I finally get one I feel adequately represents me... and by "adequately represents" I of course mean looks WAAAY better than the "real" me

It still hurts to hear it from others though. Stuff like "Eww, bald? There's no way I would romance someone bald!"
