Definitely an elf my first time around. I can't decide between a mage or a rogue. My qunari will probably be a warrior... If I don't go mage with the Dalish, my human PT will be a mage. All female, of course.

I'm not sure if I'll go female elf or human first, but she'll most certainly be a mage.  I've never completed a playthrough as an elf, but I'm hoping to change that in DA:I

 Personaly I was hoping to see someone like Sand from NwN2 

 

I knew I can not be the only one hoping for that! And at that art where Solas still had some hair he looked like a witty sarcastic type. Sure, not as attractive as Sand, not as wise-looking as Sand, but at list some Sand's qualities were there. Yet that "Nicolas Cage" screen killed every hope I had. 

 

Still, official screenshot of Fenris on his wiki page looks awful (actually, anders's too), while Sebastian is a very definition of Prince Charming. However in game it's the opposite (for me, of course). With DA team you never can be sure about anything

As for my Inq, i think i'd like female elf warrior to be the first. I always had a thing for slim elves with big swords.

I will play a mage first if Cullen is a confirmed party member. LOL. I spent two games getting a "Prepping Cullen for the Inquisition" save ready (before they announced The Keep).

Mage Warden, Surana in my case, because I forgot Amell triggered the bashful flirting too (I thought his crush was elf only). Meta-wise she was very Pro-Circle and yada yada. Not a whole lot of prep there other than making Cullen blush and saving the Circle. The rest of the choices were organized to give the most drama possible for Orlais (so Loghain lived in that PT. O_O)

 

Hawke was a Pro-Circle Mage Hawke who sides with the Templars during the end game sequence. Most of the quests involving Templars had her supporting them or protecting the Circle. Any Templar being blood thirsty still got boots to the heads. Non-dangerous mages pretty much got their second chances (Emille) while stupid ones that called for murderation of Templars (Grace) got sent to the Circle. Fenyrelreilililil got sent to the Circle because "He can hear demons! ****! Get him behind some wards, quick!". Couldn't bring myself to make him Tranquil, however, so he got let go at the end...

 

After Enemies Among Us, any quest that involved supporting the mages has a yummy result of getting an extra conversation with Cullen thanking Hawke for her service. So basically, the entire playthrough was "Looky looky, Cullen! Mages are good! I swear! Look at me upholding the protection of the Circle!"

That sounds cool, I hope we get to import detailed choices like that through the keep

I hope so too! ((whyyyy can't I be chosen to beta the Keep, I planned that play through SO carefully... UGH I hope it didn't get wasted))

 

I used the rest of Surana's PT to choose a bunch of things I don't normally, like romancing Zevran... oh my. That was fun.

Let's hope you're 100% right and Solas will be most charming. But still, even if he will have perfect story and personality, his baldness and strange clothes may be reason why some people can friendzone him for entire game. You can't just crush on people that have something in them that you don't like. I can tolerate anime clothes and childhood in brothel, but.... Why there are so much differenses between concet and in game screenshots?

Because concept is what it is - an idea, a glimpse, that could evolve and flesh out into something different from initial thought.

If I can chose not to have the dalish markings, I will definitly be an elf. I love elf. Elf/male/mage. (and snarky, if possible. I love snarkHawke!) I can never play rough because I only want one rouge in my party, and that spot is for the one and only Varric.

 

Then I prob play human/male/warrior.

 

And I have to try quanari. But yeah, it doesn´t shizzly my dizzle the whole quanaripart like for many others. I find the quanari...annoying. But I guess the game will change if you play as a quanari.

 

And for some weird reason, I just can´t mentally invest in a female Warden/Hawke. Lets see if Inquisition chances my mind. (for the right LI, it prob would.   if the LI is gender-locked)

Wow! An here I thought that I was the only person who did not fall for Bitshi-boy&Cassy ....

 

As much as I adore Sand, I'd hate to see Solas becoming his DA clone(shaved and tall, heh).

Sand was awesome because that was, well... Sand. 'Something like Sand' won't be as good, and it might not work. Not for me, at least.

 

Hopefully, Solas is going to be a fully independent and unique character. I'll try my best to give him a chance and not to compare him with Sand all the time.

 

But yeah, the place of the 'awesome, smart and snarky elf wizard' is already occupied.

What do you mean with 'model'? The character kit might be released but it's not related to Follower Friday.

Actually, I was hoping to get Solas as a next 'friday' companion. Because they had promised something that is neither Varriс nor Cassandra.

 

And if they post more details about another female character...I'm going to be angry. Very-very angry.

(And no, Varric does not count as a 'male character'. Varric is...just Varric)

I'm almost skeptical that they'll release Solas for Follower Friday this soon, because if they release him they'll tell us who his writer is and, if his writer is Gaider, we'll know pretty much already who 2/4 of the romances are. Maybe I'm being super paranoid, though. lol

 

If his writer isn't Gaider, though, it would probably be more likely they'll release him, because then we still wouldn't know any more or less than we did before who the love interests were. It could still easily be him, or it might not.

Why do you think so? As far as I remember David Gader only said they might consider to reveal the writers. 

 

Though personaly I hope for both - writer and VA revealed.
