As a guy, you should be really careful about saying that.  Most men have at least a 50/50 shot of going bald, if not higher.  If you have a lot of bald men in your family, you might be singing a different tune in about 10 years or so.  Just sayin'.  

 

Someone just had to bring up Gann-of-Dreams.  Ah...  

 

The first BioWare romance I did was Valen, the tiefling in NWN: HotU.  Watching him go from bitter to sweet was great, but I never got anything resembling an out-of-game crush.  Gann was a different story.  If Solas is anything like Gann, I could end up changing my mind about my potential LI.  

 

My preferences for the LIs among the men, in order: Varric (yeah, I doubt it too,) Solas, the Grey Warden.

I really want Solas to be Dalish, I refuse to let go of that pipe dream until there's confirmation he isn't.

 

I can't say I like him/dislike him because I don't know nearly enough that I need to in order to place judgement, but I'm optimistic. I do hope he can continue wearing pants instead of ugly mage robes, though.

Well, I haven't seen anything to make me dislike him, but all we "technically" have on him is that he's a Fade expert. And even that is from those disreputable gaming rags, so...

 

I hope he retains the snark he seems to possess in the concept art pieces.

My hope is that he was raised Dalish, forced into a Circle, and managed to escape.  It would create an interesting worldview, and would allow him to retain some Dalish manners and customs while being more worldly than Merril was.  Or more practical than Velanna.*

I liked what the poster did to combine that bald elf head with the armor.  That's a look I can get behind.  It not only seems practical and rather comfortable, but doesn't scream "I'm a mage, come get me shem!"

I don't know why, and I don't know where I'm even getting this, but for some reason I'm seeing him as someone who isn't into the whole "shem" thing. Like he identifies himself more as a mage than an elf. In that respect, he kind of reminds me of Fenris, who identified as Tevinter, or Andrastian, or (whatever) more than an elf.

This is EXACTLY what I want! I think his soleless boots hint at Dalish, and possibly the pendant (dragon claw?) he wears, but the rest of his look is more human (homeless human).

One rule if he's in my party: I want him in boots.  

 

Thankfully, that strikes me as a rather minor detail that I might be able to change via customizing his armor.  I wouldn't change much else, but if we're walking around Thedas stepping in horse dung and in rotting boggish swamps and Goddess-knows-what-else, the man is wearing shoes.

Hmmm.  You know, a lot of us have assumed he's going to be a love interest, but what are Solas's chances of actually being a romance option?

 

If the party is rounded out by Cullen and Dramatic Hands, those two could be romances instead.  Bioware hasn't said anything about making more romances this time around.  Solas's chances at romance would rise dramatically if Cole were one of the final companions.  And even then, we might get Iron Bull or Bearded Warden instead of Solas.
