I desperately hope it's Solas!  I wasn't previously interested in Iron Bull info, but It seems like people are starting to second guess their assumption that he's definitely a companion (can't trust much that the OXM wrote) so I'd enjoy hearing about him.  Or Dramatic Hands Mustache Guy.  He might be Tevinter and, dang, have you seen that 'stache?  I'm still not chomping at the bit for Sera though and I'm mildly interested in Bearded Grey Warden.  Hopefully they keep a companion or two totally secret until launch.  That'd be exciting (and infuriating)

 

So yeah: Solas.  Character kit.  GO!

 

Edit:  Until we get more Solas info/images I'll keep doodling what he might look like at an Orlesian ball.  I wish my rusty skills could do him justice!

 

It occurs to me that we don't really have confirmation of Iron Bull other than what OXM said. At least they said that they actually saw Sera in game and supposedly Bearded Warden was spotted before. But has IB shown up in any screenshots or popped into the game at any point?

I can't even think of concept art showing Iron Bull with the Inquisitor or any companions.  He showed up in this old pre-DA2 artwork and I think people have argued it might hold some weight since the lady elf archer and Grey Warden seem to have evolved into Sera and Beardy.  I hope he does show up to bring diversity to the group, but it was weird to feel rather certain he'd be included and suddenly realize there's not a lot of evidence to support it yet o.O  Damn you OXM! *shakes fist*

I think they are still working on the qunari models in game (or at least have been recently) so as we've really not seen much in the way of any qunari I'm not too worried that a lack of Iron Bull means no Iron Bull. Though I get the feeling they might hold off on showing him until they show more qunari. They said a while back that they were going to show female qunari soon and still haven't. My money is on Solas next though.

Well I think there is a good chance it will be Solas..I mean they have shown more screenshots of him than the others (except Vivienne).

 

I did see the other day on the twitter thread that they will show some more info and screenshots next week....now that get's me all giddy lol!

Agreed, I'd love for some personality clues or a hint at his background.  They can leave plenty of mystery, but it'd be nice to have something to associate with that face.

But of course it won't be a lot of info on Solas...I mean tbh when they mentioned Vivienne on Followers Friday I felt as if it wasn't a lot of info on her...it was just like a tiny morsel and yes I know they aren't going to tell us much about them but come on a letter? That's it? lol

 

But hopefully they will tell us something that will get us talking and wondering more about Solas!

I think some of the best information we got on Vivienne's personality came from Mary Kirby posting in Viv's thread. So maybe if we're lucky Solas' writer will come in here and give us something more after we get some info on him.

I noticed a few days ago that this is a popular thread other than Vivienne's....100 pages, once we get there I think I will celebrate with a Hard Mike's Lemonade...that or some whiskey! XD

Sorry if this has been asked a hundred times, but is Solas not to be confused with Solan, the Keeper from Ariane's clan?

They share similar names which may be an indication that Solas has an association with the Dalish in some way or another...(I love the fan-theory that wants him taken from the Dalish at a young age and thrown into the circle)

I would assume they're not the same character.

 

I think Solas might have pulled an Anders with his name, actually. It can't be coincidence that there is a place called Solas too!

Well it was confirmed that if you play an Elf Inquisitor your elf will be Dalish...but it hasn't been confirmed yet if Solas is a circle mage.

I asked about this before, but nobody seemed to have any strong reasons for thinking so. 

 

I think it's an assumption based on David Gaider showing an interest in what people think of Solas on a few occasions. For example, wondering why people thought he was named Dorian, some comments in the Twitter thread about who wrote him, his comments in the thread complaining about Solas being bald, etc. Which is a fair assumption, I guess. But the assumption might hold more weight if Gaider wasn't the lead writer, who (I am assuming - correct me if I'm wrong) oversees a lot of the writing of characters.

Wait, is it confirmed he's a Circle mage then? So the only possible Dalish mage is a player character?

 

If he was Dalish, he'd have the tattoos and he's supposedly a fade expert so he is probably trained and had access to knowledge, which would point to time spent in the Circle. But we really don't know for sure!
