Why am i being reminded of Emile, when i read your post? That's the kind of awkward you are looking for?
That's exactly who I was thinking of!!

"Wow. Are you... are you a mage? Because you just magicked my breath away."

"With your nimble fingers, you managed to steal my heart."

Honestly though, i would never be able to take him seriously, if he'd ever come up with lines like these. So, nothing more than a fling for Solas, if he's that kind of awkward.
... but he could start out as a no-nonsense, all business kind of guy. Maybe he's too guarded or thinks love/sex is just a silly distraction when you're busy saving the world. ...
This. ![]()
Then they fall hopelessly in love with the Inquisitor. ![]()

Aww.
He'd skyrocket to the near top of my list.

Well in my head he wouldn't be quite as pathetic as Emile. More innocent, less... pitiful. Also when talk about your possible fling, the term "pity sex" comes to mind ![]()

LMAO!
I think I'd fall for that...

Or drunk sex, that works too.
Edit: ****, now i can't unsee Emile's night with Nella. "I'm not going to tell you about it! That was utterly worth it." Help, before i die laughing ![]()
I highly doubt he's going to be like Merrill. Remember, he's candied peppers, and really hot peppers at that. Obviously he'll have a fire to him, so maybe he's very dedicated and doesn't take any **** about what he believes in or what he thinks is right.
That doesn't mean he's not uncomfortable in certain situations, though. I mean, the guy dresses like a wilds hobo so maybe if you're trotting around through some Orlesian ball he starts getting fidgety and awkward. Maybe he's more comfortable and put together around the common folk but has no clue how to deal with nobility or get along in fancy schmancy situations, etc.
Which would be adorable, honestly.

I agree,in a way,Morrigan could be considered awkward as well, due to her limited interaction with people...Both Merrill and Morrigan were like fish out of water when it came to social interaction but because of the different personalities each of them had, that awkwardness was portrayed in a completely different way.About Solas, so far his choice of attire and looks give a practical down to earth vibe, so he doesn't seem the type that would get along the flamboyant Orlesian nobility,to me at least...
When reading that blurb that was posted from the German article, I actually see someone more capable of putting their "foot in their mouth". More like, his reactions might make situations become more "awkward", rather than he is simply adorkable or Merrill/Finn like.
Nothing more than guessing, of course. Time will tell though.
Now I'm just picturing the Inquisitor trying to deal with some nobles and Solas just blurts out something that ruins the entire meeting. That would slay me, oh my gosh.

Oh goodness, I'll be able to empathize with Solas if he's a "foot in mouth" kind of guy. With some of the awkward/oblivious **** that comes out of my mouth, I'd probably be better off just being mute.
If that's the kind of awkward he is, I'm super excited for the terrible situations we get into.
Need. More. Solas. Info.
Now!

What if that his better outfit?
Surely anything is better than his manky pajamas. Those Skyrim robes we saw, for example, looked less smelly.
Maybe the new article meant Solas is awkward in a... dirty, smelly apostate kind of way. It'd be awkward to walk into a conference with nobles if your mage friend smelled like a midden heap.
Edit: but then his food might have been a Durian fruit.

Maker let that not be so!
(...Although now all I can imagine is Vivienne greeting him with a faceful of perfume every time they cross paths.)
That's a neat theory! I keep playing around with different theories revolving around the first blight and all that. I hadn't thought of that one thoughOn a sidenote, I hope we get more answers on that. I get the feeling that the original Tevinter magisters used Eluvian to invade the Golden City. And that Golden City was Arlathan. Or connected to it somehow.. perhaps a section for their slumbering Elders. And that the dwindling civilization of Elves, the Fade, and Darkspawn are all part of the same event.
Damn. I have this awesome personality played out in my head. I was not expecting "awkward". I think my head is tuned in on the "smirtk" picture. But the Germans has been very wrong before. Hope they are again...
I simply want a LI that could possibly be the backbone for the Inquisitioner. But awkward ... meh. No more Merill. I am okay with her. But a male-Merrill. So -not- attractive. Its more "okay" for women.
I just have to wait and see.
Wow, lol. I am apparently the only one that loved Merrill and her adorkable little romance. Ah well.
It's hard to tell over the internet, so I apologize if I'm misreading your comment here, but I'm not sure if you're joking? Like, I legitimately don't understand why it's "okay" for a female character but not a male one? Men feel awkward and out of place, unsure of themselves, etc. Are they just not allowed to express it? If anything, I find men who are comfortable expressing their emotions more attractive, not less. I'm not trying to tell you how to feel, or anything, nor what to prefer in a romance; just challenging the idea that awkwardness/emotions are a "women" thing.
I appear to be in the minority in hoping this tidbit ends up being accurate.
And that's perfectly fine! Different strokes, and all that.
Fall feels like a really long time from now. ![]()

You guys are so wrong! You can't just call our Solas smelly!
He's just a little dirty, give him a break.

I didn't find the Merrill romance adorkable. Not if you don't like blood magic at least. Then it comes off like one of those relationships where you're trying to "change" the person, or get them off a bad habit, and it becomes a tragic tug of war. It's one of the more serious romances, I think.
I suppose for Adorkable to kick in, you have to be more accepting to begin with.

A little dirty never hurt anyone >.>
