Cullen is still less confirmed than Solas, honestly. Gaider gave a vague reply about it depending on trusting an actor's interpretation of the material and said it wouldn't be clarified until later. We still don't really know "officially" what's going on with him. Ellis didn't confirm him as a companion. In fact, Ellis said later that he doesn't even know what a companion is.

 

Oh Cullen is definitely less confirmed than Solas. I hope for his fans' sake that Ellis wasn't completely mistaken about everything or that'll be quite the cruel wake-up call!

Hey, I like Solas. I didn't mean anything against him with that phrase, it's just that yours reminded me of what Flemeth says to Hawke if he/she asks her "What's the catch?", that's all.

I'll be content if Solas is a romance option so long as he has a sense of humour and a reasonably positive view on life.   For some reason the writers in DA2 seemed to think that if you care deeply about an issue you have to be a killjoy.   Vivienne looks like she's going to be a right pain in the a** so I hope Solas provides a little light relief and doesn't take himself too seriously.

To be fair Anders was possessed by the literal embodiment of justice . Considering that it had no concept of compromise it kind of turned him into a raging jerk once it started to exert more control over him. I generally kill him because no one deserves to live like that.

Solas might not really have any opinion on the major events going on. He's an apostate who might live in the middle of nowhere. The Circle isn't anywhere near him, and he's far away from anywhere the Templars might patrol. The poor guy just wants to read his books and you come along and drag him off to go plug sky holes.

Hm.  I actually quite like that idea for a character, although maybe not Solas.  An Arthur Dent type character who just wants a bit of piece and quiet.
