Definitely overkill.
I have a hard time picturing Vivienne willingly resorting to blood magic since she is so pro-circle. She seems like the type who would scoff at relying on a demon to help her out. She seems to rely on herself and only herself.
Oh I don't think she would use blood magic, I just think that she would make a much more interesting blood mage than Solas, from what we know so far.
I would hope that an expert on the Fade would be smarter than that. Besides, having another elf blood mage with possible Dalish connections would be overkill. I'd much rather see Vivienne dabbling in blood magic, to be honest.
True, if he's a fade expert he would know what happens to you when you make contracts with demons.
If my Elfquisitor finds he's an abomination, I really hope we'll have the chance to kill him. No offence Solas fans of course.
I heard a lot of TME spoilers, but not much about the actual characters themselves. But what I got from Felassan was untrustworthy, despite sounding like a cool character. And a cold character is something I wouldn't be opposed to, just maybe not with a character I'm already unsure of.

I'm not quite sure what to think of Solas yet, but I really really want more info about him. I hope they don't make him super-awkward - a little goes a long way - but I do find the idea of a geeky mage quite appealing. Geeky-snarky with a dry sense of humour would be wonderful, but I wouldn't mind if he was more genuinely enthusiastic than reserved. I have already decided that I will romance/befriend (if he isn't a romance) him with a FemQunari Mage. Qunari because the size/stature difference will look hilarious and mage so they'll have something to bond over. I love unlikely-looking friendships that actually turn out really well.

I second this. I have a thing about noses in profile. It's weird, I know. Anyway, my point is usually a nose like that would be a turn off, but it works on him. So yeah, good job on the nose.
