Well, I know which pasty faced weirdo won't be used in my playthroughs!
I will be monumentally peeved if he turns out to be a LI.

I kind of hope at one point we can say "Uhg this haircut I got is awful, but I hate to wait till it grows out for it to look decent again....I don't suppose you know any hair growing spells- oop, wait, sorry"
PArticulary if he is a magister. THAT would be awesome, and something new. A new perspective. All I know about magisters is that they are bad and kill them all. Like Danarius.

Even if he's not, for this very reason I'd love at least one Magister companion in the future.
@Reznores... Shortbread is (usually) used as a cookie base. But I believe the most important part of the word was "short."
I bet he's the "deceptive wax fruit". It's shiny and smooth on the outside like his bald head, but juicy on the inside.

It makes sense now that I think about it, the character model made it seem like he's just another elf, but the way his earlier designs in the concept art appear, he's got a lot going on in that shiny head of his.
Bad elves aren't people like you and me! They are weapons and should be treated as such!

Yeah when they were talking about food and companions I had this thought also.
It also goes with the idea that the character might not be what you'd expect from appearances alone. Or that his outside appearance is too perfect to be genuine, with no blemishes.
(which - complete speculation time - kinda sorta maybe fits the Wilde connection)
Can someone post a link to the food/companion list? I keep seeing this brought up, but I must of missed this whole thing. Was this something the devs twitted as a hint about the companions? Or were they just listing food? Lol. Either way, I'm curious.
I think this is the list.
Ortolan bunting (Vivienne)
Skittles and Tequila
Shortbread
Strawberry Parfait
Scotch Bonnet Candy
Chilli Dog
Deceptive Wax Fruit
Surprise Meatballs
Giant Rump Roast
Bananas foster
Without trying to turn this into a companion/food thread, I'm 90% sure Giant Rump Roast is the Iron Bull.
('cause, y'know, horns and being nine feet tall)
Its Zathrian, we only thought he was dead

I believe you're also missing Bananas Foster. If I had to guess I'd posit that this elven mage is gonna be Scotch Bonnet Candy (which I think is a type of Saltwater Taffy right?). I dunno why.
I'd really love him to be the Skittles + Tequila, but I have a feeling that is gonna go to a rogue. But it'd be nice: I mean, we've already had two zany rogues, it's zany mage time...right?
I think Baldy Elfy Magey is Chilli Dog.
As for not!Zathrian, he's the totally opposite of Vivienne in term of appearance. I can't decide if he is an apostate or a Dalish. His clothing are quite "outdoorsy", but they do not look Dalish one bit.
With the sort of brownish color scheme if his clothing and all the fur, maybe he is Ferelden. From what I've read on the forums about companions (granted I'm rather new to reading and posting here), there hasn't been much talk about at least one being Ferelden. And the Ferelden's are usually known for wearing furs in winter. At least they are in winter concept art.
It's "Fereldan" my dear.
LOL! I've played too much Dragon Age. That misspell makes my brain hurt! ![]()

Nope.
Ferelden.

The country is Ferelden, people from there are known as Fereldans.
BTW, people from Thedas (in general) are Theodosians but as you may notice, I typically write 'Thedan' here on the forums because, well, it's simpler. ![]()
Plus it seems a bit linguistically nutty to me, it's kind of like saying that people from Thebes are "Thebosians" instead of "Thebans".

Scotch bonnet is a variety of chilly pepper,so assume is a type of spicy candy or smth...(Btw thanks for reminding me about Bananas foster!)
I don't know that it is correct, but I am tickled that Bald Elf Guy could be "deceptive wax fruit". But what if he is surprise meatballs? Oh dear...

Oh I like that. I had guessed it because I didn't know what it was and I didn't feel like the concept I saw fit any of the other foods. Still sticking with my guess.
Wax fruit just implies to me "Something showy, but it isn't what it appears to be." This guy could very well be hiding some secrets, but his outfit is certainly not for show.
