Shame Frostbite is apparently such a pain to mod... I don't want to pay for a single mount as that just opens the flood gates for EA to start throwing micro transactions in again and though I wouldn't be adverse at all to it being part of the coming DLC I'd much prefer a modder tried a crack at it for faster results.

I don't think he does. There's no option for a M!Lavellan to have them removed (they do not get the romance scene), and I don't think they have any other dialogue about it.

I have now Fraps running, and will record everytime the Inquisitor dies. Maybe someone can understand what he says.

Most of times he says just "NO!" but I want to know what this other word meant :-/ The other people don't really care about when I die.

But I usually get angry when Solas cries "Sera needs help!" or she dies....I just think "Great, let her die! She just get on my nerves!"

[[Note: I’m taking enasalin to be a compound word- enasal (to be grateful for being able to withstand loss) and in (with or inside; dwell).]] So… my or me / nothing / grateful to be able to withstand loss / inside. [[Loneliness or emptiness? Unless “enasalin” is not enasal + in. It could be ena (emerge) + sal (gift) + in (inside). But then there’s “banal” or nothing, so…]]

Mar Solas ena mar din. [[I have no idea what “mar” is, unless it’s “you”. Ena is appear. Din is a negative… ooor means a dead person, someone who “is not”.]] Solas appears to be dead, or Solas doesn’t seem to exist.

"Tell me, Trickster. My empty one. Solas does not seem to exist/appears to be dead."

And then Solas’s line, Banal nadas. "Nothing’s inevitable."

Yeah there I was thinking "Oh my Surana Warden is selfish and wants to keep Alistair with her in the Order, they'll be together and happy" and then Alistair is also saying when you go find him in Crestwood, if you ask him about the Warden, "When this is all over I'll join her again and this time it'll be forever". Then AFTER I left the Fade I got the letter back from my Warden and she's like "yeah take care of him because otherwise all my effort to reverse the Calling will be wasted if I lose him to your Inquisition". I fought that stupid nightmare demon three times because I kept changing my mind and literally could not handle that choice. I will never, ever, ever be at peace with that choice. It's like Schrodinger's Warden -- both alive and dead at the same time. Both headcanons exist for me simultaneously because I CANNOT HANDLE IT. ....... And then Solas left me.

If you take Cole with you when you deliver the phylactery from a dead templar to his mage lover in the Crossroads, a sweet banter can trigger between him and Solas about how those two had to follow love even though it was doomed, and Solas says "of course they did."

 

I find myself saying "oh god my heart" many many times a day since romancing Solas.

Could easily be! Elvish is meant to be... inexact. It's very poetic. So it could be referring to Solas = the dude, or solas = pride.

Solas can also mean to stand tall. It could mean either of those thing in that sentence or could also have been used in the context of his name.

 

As for ma halani ma glandival etc, I think 'vir' means 'way'.

Oh I feel for you. Tho this makes me not feel as bad about my way-to-short king Alistair cameo. I'm a wreck with just Solas, if I had to go through that...I would have died.

It's entirely possible that he's speaking old Elven, as he's shown to do so... A lot.

 

The old Elven is much harder to translate. We're lacking a lot of the Elven words already. 'ed' could add a whole new meaning to the word.

 

(I say this because I was trying to translate what the Well tells you if you drink from it as well as what the elf said to Corypheus. I ended up with some very loose translations due to lack of words)

To be fair, I sort of get the feeling he's tried in the past and it only ended with him being royally burned for his efforts. Merrill's talk about the Dread Wolf was posted earlier and it's pretty clear that not only do the Dalish have completely the wrong image of him, but it's hard to reconcile him with the lore as we used to know it. (The thing she says he hates are the most are his most valued and respected aspects to a person.) Solas very much reads as a character who has in part given up on a lot of matters, the Elvhen being just one such aspect and he's frankly not alone in his sentiments. Abelas and his people at the temple emphatically state that the Dalish are NOT their people as well, and even grow angry if you even suggest that they help the wandering clans. Something is missing here, some piece that we haven't seen that connects it all as to why the Dread Wolf and his fellow god's most ardent supporters all have given up on the Dalish. Sadly we won't see it for awhile.
