Hello everyone. I popped in earlier to ask when to expect Solas's next romance scene and I can now confirm that I've seen everything....
Spoiler

Just kidding. Welcome to the pillow fort of DLC-starved madness and pain. And other assorted coping tactics.

That's what I was thinking of when I made that post!
Yeah, I don't think Weekes would ever confirm Solas' sexuality because he wants to keep it ambiguous for all the fans, which is wonderful :3 He also said it's ambiguous about whether or not Solas had "fade nookie" with spirits lol I was just going to leave my comment as "I'd like his sexuality ambiguous" but the fade tongue slipped in there (I also had a few drinks last night so I was a bit kooky too!) I didn't think it was bad, but I'm willing to learn to be more prudent of my sexual comments in the future.
I never saw Solas as ae when I played the game, but then again I got the fade tongue line, the getting-you-into-bed-side-benefit line, the dominant-you-mage-yes-side-benefits-again line so lol I was very convinced Solas was sexual (perhaps demi), especially with how passionate and physical his kisses were. Doesn't mean he had sex with Lavellan (I didn't believe they did on my first playthrough because I figured they hadn't reached that level yet and he was probably going to make love to her after telling her the truth). But that's just how it appeared to me. I love ambiguity :3
I disagree that leaving a sexuality ambiguous is a good thing because I've seen that argument used to support the bi-erasure of all the DA2 LIs, Leliana, Bull and Josie. Solas has dialouge that indicates he's not ace. That doesn't change if the player never hears it, just as Leliana liking women doesn't change if the player never hears her mention that. I got the impression from the NA interview that Weekes left the sex ambigous, not his sexuality.
I really, really want an ace romance in Dragon Age because everyone deserves to have representation in media.

And this is why I love Hawke... it's not really even parody, that is totally in-character! ![]()
As for Solas' vague comment about crossing path with the Dalish, I've always imagined that he might have tried to help the Dalish at some point in the past (and not as a way to trick them) only to be violently rebuffed after what he had to say didn't go with their own dogmatic, revisionist view of the past?
We saw how upset Lavellan was to discovers the truth about the vallaslin, that the markings used to show themselves as the last "free" elves are actually cruel slave markings from the Ancient Elven Empire? Now imagine him telling that to a bunch of a clan of heavily armed Dalish, who already distrust him and believe he's a "flat ear" because he's barefaced?
Dalish clans can be tetchy if they don't like what someone's saying, we saw that in DA2 with Merrill's clan where if you don't accept total responsibility for Marethari willingly sacrificing herself to the demon to save Merrill, they'll immediately attempt to murder you?

I don't think anyone was really thinking he went up to them like "Guys, I'm Fen'Harel, and you're all WRONG". But I can totally see it going down as you said. The crossed paths thing was a nice reference for anyone who picked up on it.
That said, I find the dialogue you get with Solas about the elves really interesting, but he only says these things if he dislikes you.
He's clearly tried to help in some way, and it has made him quite weary, as well as maybe where some of his blanket dismissals come from. And then, how you become 'real' to him and what that might mean in general.

'Chosen his to reign' is curious. Does it actually say that, or is it a subtitle error? If it's not an error, then I'd say this is about Fen'harel and definitely not Corypheus. Corypheus chose himself to reign, Fen'harel backed the Inquisitor and helped them in the aftermath of Haven to become the Inquisitor instead of just the figurehead and Rift-closer.
It's interesting.
It actually said that. Plus, this little Fairy's voice was way spookier than Arl Foreshadow ever was!

So wait! You got a different prophecy from the fairy house, than what the others have quoted?? If I am understanding that correctly...cool!!
Makes you wonder what triggers the different dialogue? Where one is in the game? What choices you have made? Who's in you party when you are stomping on its little hidey-hole??
Hmmmm....

Not sure it's a different prophecy. Fairy dude said that to me as well when I kept jumping on his house. He would switch back and forth between, "Deviating from the plan..." and "Not time to come out...". He proceeded to say the other lines after I stopped treating his home like a trampoline and brought him the Crystal Grace.

Yeah, I got those, too, but only when I couldn't get the actual quest to trigger. I thought he was telling me that I had done something wrong and he wouldn't give me the fetch quest.
Also, yes, the fairy house is the tiniest cave. The fetch quest is called "Tiniest Cave" and that's why I called it that. Sorry for confusion.

Ahhh. Okay, got it!
(Kind of liked the idea of the prophecy being different based on choices, timing, companions.

This is extremely interesting, Solas comes over as the very Spock, extremely logical and reasonable, in these discussions while making it very clear that he does care about other elves he just doesn't know how to resolve the issue by himself… But he is still working on it.

He is clearly now pretending to be a fairy in a cave, chatting about whimsy, and handing out flower crowns.

Ok I think I'm back from taking a Solas break. lol How's everything? Anything juicy I missed?
Anyway I made a thread yesterday about the secret quest you get if you jump on a damn rock 50 times and I haven't tried to get the quest myself yet, Hrungr posted the dialogue you get from said secret quest and I just had to share with my peeps over here:
Like what is this....that last line.....
Some interesting dialogue at the beginning of the quest if you run back and forth to the rock after first triggering the quest with jumping...
(Note: the last comment when you find the chest)

I'm strangely obsessed with the fact that, according to Gatsi's Codex entries and the Fade itself, the Black City doesn't have stairs.

I'm going to find this quest just so I can trigger it. I'm excited to find something so odd and creepy this late in the game!

That is weird...that place where you find the chest looks like the damn void. This person had to turn up the gamma to see better and it's still creeeeeepy as ****.
