That is...odd looking but cute where did you find that one?

Not my gif. But to get a nuggalope you have to buy the ridiculously expensive mystery box in Val Royeaux.

My Levallan, Assan was fiercely Dalish, did all she could to uphold the old ways. Rather religious as well, especially when she would take her bow hunting. Though after the break up and her vallaslin being removed she had a crisis of faith, stopped believing in the elven gods, and renounced herself as Dalish.

Otherwise she's pretty sarcastic, but gentle and very hungry for knowledge, mostly ancient elven lore.

At the beginning hated humans, though has come to like a few of her party members, though would still always choose saving an elf over a human. Doesn't get on with Sera, as Assan is too elfy.

This is similar to what I headcanon happened to my Lavellan. Although, I imagine she eventually made peace with Solas's revelations. Instead of holding onto and idealizing the past, she seeks now to enjoy the present more and look forward to building a better future for Dalish and city elves. After the events of Inquisition, she eventually returned to her people and eventually became the Keeper. In order to fit in with her people again, I imagine she got her vallaslin redone, this time Mythal's symbol, as she did you know what at the Temple of Mythal. Even though the markings weren't what her people originally thought, that doesn't mean they have to keep that old meaning. They can still be markings of the Creators, even if the Creators turn out to not be as great as previously thought. Lavellan didn't tell her clan the new things she learned either. She figured it would be easiest for them to continue believing in the goodness of the Creators, but during her Keeper-hood she does try to discourage any too idealistic imaginings of the ancient elves, and she tries to convince her people that the ancient elves did indeed have a part to play in their own downfall. But most of all she focuses on the present and enjoying her time with her clan, because they are still her family no matter what happened with Solas and Abelas.

That's just how I decided to imagine what happened though. :)

ETA: I also imagine she ends up marrying someone from her clan and having cute little elven babies, all whilst still clinging to the memory of Solas in her heart, sort of like what Kate Winslet's character does in the movie Titanic. lol

I haven't experienced it personally because I

Spoiler

Aw, man. That happened in my first game before I knew how to make the madness stop, but I never noticed that.

I like what someone wrote in the comments on my YouTube video of the Tamlen scene. "Too far, Archdemon!! TOO FAR!!!"

So I'm trying to plan out my Elfy lady for my Solas romance, but don't quite know which personality to give her.

What personality do you guys think has given you the most meaningful interactions?

Totally up to you of course. I think you could go either passionate/ fiery as contrast to Solas (which might make it hard to get his approval up but if you do magey things that'll help), or reflective/quiet/ bit of black humor which makes you a kindred spirit. I go for the latter because that's how I like to play anyway.

So, can't help but think that this line must be significant.

He says it at the beginning of the game and repeats it here. What if he means more than just sealing the Breach? I'm wondering if all along he's contemplating if Lavellan can be an ally in his Great Matter. To him, not having our meta knowledge, it might seem destined that the one bearing the mark is an elf- more reason why he lets himself get close to another elf. Finally, though, he would conclude that to involve her would be to bind her to a purpose he dreads himself.

I read my first kink meme (is that the right term? what the hell does it stand for?) Anyway...ah *cough* it was eh....*cough* *blush* well, lets just say my character might not be able to meet Solas's eye for a while.

Also, I know that it's a sore point in the canon to many on here, but I'm embracing the whole "kick out mages if there's too many in a clan". My new, shiny Mage Lavellan is now the reluctant owner of a backstory where her younger brother was abandoned by the tribe because he also had magical abilities. She herself only being 10 or so at the time, tries to find him but nearly starves herself and is found by the clan. It's the reason she volunteers for the Conclave, because every time they near a settlement or village, she desperately searches for her little brother. She also naturally angry at her clan and doesn't believe in the gods because they never answered her prayers.

*sigh* Not sure why I would do this to her. As if the loss of Solas isn't enough heartbreak. I'm just a sucker for the hurt I guess.

Did she intentionally pick Josephine to 'help' her clan? :l

It feels that most of what Solas says has a double meaning. But I'm always curious to compare it to what he says to a non-female elf.

Dagna also talks about the Anchor being a key, which we've seen both closing and opening a rift in the Veil. That's an ability that no one will be able to ignore forever. I don't even think Solas can, regardless if he finds another way to achieve his Great Matter or his feelings toward the Inquisitor.

Really, I think the devs did a good job of making many kinds of personalities plausible. The game as a whole lets you be anything from an "elves rule, humans drool" jerkwad who pisses everyone off, to a cheery optimistic "saving the world with the power of friendship" type.

There are quite a few race-specific dialogue options all through the game with lots of characters, so I'd recommend looking out for those.

I agree I like the different avenues you can take personality wise. I find it kind of funny that you can get your approval so low with Solas that you can punch him! I could never make myself do it though. I lack the willpower to be mean to Solas

Yea...my headcannon Lavellan has basically withdrawn from the world in her depression. Dorian's trying his best to get her out of her room. He's gotten her to go get drunk a couple times, but that's about it. And it always ends up awkward for everyone.

Lord knows how I'm gonna roleplay it if they come out with a DLC that isn't about Solas. There are very few things that would motivate her to get out of bed right now.

I just can't seem to make up my mind!

My first human was kinda a cool chick who drank a lot with Bull and the guys, and was clever. But overall took the nice route in most decisions. My qunari is demure and soft-spoken and always takes the good route.

I know my third will be a brash male noble, impatient and makes a lot of bad choices. So now I'm lost at what path to take my elf down.

Can you actually go drink with Dorian? I thought he was just saying "Let's have a drink sometime" not that it was actually possible.

TBH, that's what I'm afraid of. The party was bad enough. If they come out with post-game DLC where Solas is still missing in action, then I highly doubt I'll get the option of RPing my Lavellan as depressed as she feels. Which would completely shatter my immersion.

Solas doesn't like being told he and the elves get a lot wrong about humans. True, he's trying to compliment the Inquisitor and she kind of throws it back in his face to get this line.

DragonAgeInquisition2014-12-1517-40-20-4

As for post-game, I don't imagine my Lavellan being broken. It's the Dalish way to absorb your grief quietly and endure, as the spirit in Faded tells Solas to do.

For my fellow theory-mongers:

I just realized some idle party banter with Cole lends additional support for the nutbag theory that Solas was a supportive party to spirits being transformed into the elven race, or at the very least, was present for it.

Solas:  "How are you, Cole?  Do you feel better, now that you have dealt with the templar?"

Cole:  "I don't know.  He hurt me, hurt the real Cole.  I'm angry at him.  I can't let that go.   I have to become more, let it make me real."

Solas:  "You may well become fully human after all.  I never thought to see it."

Cole:  "When did you see it before?"

Solas (quickly) "I did not say that I had."

Cole:  "No... you didn't.   It's... harder to hear, sometimes.  Sorry."

Solas:  "Good luck, Cole.  You have taken a difficult road."

The obvious between-the-lines takeaway here being that Solas has, in fact, seen this transformation before.  He says nothing aloud, but Cole is still attuned enough to pick up the stray thought and react to it.  This is further underscored by Solas' last line: "You have taken a difficult road."

A very odd thing to say for someone who initially argued against the attempt by claiming the road did not exist, no?  =w=
