well I got the sarcastic and others got the gay to whoever DG wrote theory right but it seems unless DG is writing Solas too I think someone else is writing him

who do you think it is?

 

Edit: @Cezelle romance wise I think Solas has a good chance of being a romance. They did say inquisition will have the most romances in a bioware game and that there will be options and I don't think all of the rumored at least six slots have been filled...maybe he will be gated?

yeah I just read that Dorian is gay. I think it could be Sheryl Chee that wrote Solas but I could be wrong...

Well I am definitely going to do my best to stay positive and say our dreams just might come true Cezelle! 

 

 

EDIT: I think he will be a rift mage since Dorian has taken that spot of being a necromancer good grief I can't write correctly today.

He is a fade expert after all  and the dwarf video showed iron bull having the reaver spec so I would imagine all companions getting the same specs as the inquisitor is able to get.

I hate posting from my phone, but I'm out and about and of COURSE that's when the Dorian interview goes live! So...I'm not surprised it's David, and Dorian sounds like he'll be pretty entertaining. But we're left with the mystery of who wrote Solas! I hope he's Monday.

Look on the bright side - at least Solas is definitely not gay - since that is now confirmed as Dorian.    So unless we are to be given one straight option and one gay option for each gender, and no choice that would seem to suggest that there has to be at least one bisexual.     Since we were assured there are more romances than in previous DA games, we were working to 6, so that would mean may be two bisexual.   So may be Solas will still be a possibility.   My elf girl is definitely not having sex with Iron Bull.

 

If not and the choice is simply whether you play straight or gay with your character, then I may well just not romance at all and focus on friendship.   Cullen is okay but I don't like being forced to romance him.

For now I'm going to try and stay positive that Solas is a love interest. I don't want to believe that they will leave women to choose only Cullen who is an NPC romance and Iron bull. If that's the case then I'm just going to end up with a celibate play through and lots of bromances

 

But my fem quizzy's are on edge now and were more than a little happy to read that Dorian is gay; That gives her one more step closer to Solas.....*fingers crossed*

Well since Gaider said he wrote 2 Li's that does make Dorian an LI BUT there is a chance that Solas is LI also.

- Dorian is gay, which makes it more likely that Solas is straight or bi. I'm inclined to think this increases Solas's chances of being an LI - Cullen for Femquisitors at least is a given, but in terms of male companions potentially available to Femquisitor: Varric. Iron Bull. Blackwall. Solas. From the list I think Solas is pretty likely

 

- Dorian uses spells involving control of the dead so he's most likely our necromancer. That puts to rest all of the necromancer-based speculating we did about Solas in the old Solas thread! It also makes it more likely that Solas is a Rift Mage, which from the name is probably a Fade-based specialization (Fade rifts). Makes perfect sense, given that he's a Fade expert. I like the idea of a Rift Mage Solas, Rift Mage sounds really interesting from a lore and plot perspective

 

- Dorian is written by David Gaider, meaning it is less likely that Solas is also written by David

 

- Dorian is the "certain unnamed Inquisition mage" whom Vivienne sometimes has explosive reactions with, not Solas

Imo it also rules out on Solas being the "Judas" too since I don't see rift mage being too evil

Oh thank the maker! There's still hope!

 

If Solas is romanceable I'm 99% sure he's bi because Dorian is gay and I think there's a big possibility of Cullen being straight. Bi LI Solas would be a dream come true though it would probably also mean that I end up romancing him with every Inquisitor haha!

I think with race gating there might be 8 LIs, at least, instead of 6. So, I think Solas still has a strong chance. I've been guessing he would be straight for a long time, but bi is also still on the table. Iron Bull may be a bi LI, but he's not been confirmed either. Good luck to anyone who wants to romance him, either way. If he was bi, I would definitely romance him with a fellow male elf, but I don't want to be greedy if Dorian is already probably m/m.

Stay positive, people!  Would Bioware keep the only elf love interest to F/F only?  Solas has a good chance, based on past odds, of being romanceable (and possibly bi).
