Perhaps part of his plan was to be reborn in a form that was familiar to modern elves so that he could better help them reclaim their past and their hope in the process of fixing his mistakes.

 

If the Creators  genuinely are gods it is also possible he has many forms- After all Zeus could appear as a bull, or a normal man to mortals that saw him, and in Tolkien's books the Valar could also appear as they wished e.g. Yavanna appearing to be a magnificent tree, or Manwe appearing as one of the Great Eagles. It is after all a common mythological trope. We do after all know that Flemythal has several forms including the decrepit elderly woman in the swamp, the beautiful young woman she appears as in the "The Calling" (or is it "Stolen Throne"), the Middle Aged woman of DAII, and a High Dragon.

So do you think that this is Solas actual face? Since the ancient elves at the Well of Sorrows seem to look taller and more feline than the current batch

In the novel a "Dalish" elf Fellasan had been helping Briala find and activate the Eluvians in Orlais. At the end of the book Fellasan was killed in the fade talking to some unknown entity. Said poser believed that Solas/Fen'harrel had killed Fellasan and taken over his body. 

 

It is worth noting that Fellassan was noted as being bald, having purple eyes, and had similar views towards the Dalish/elves that Solas has. He did have Dalish tattoos but since Solas seems to know a type of magic to remove them...

 

I had my own theory that Fellassan and Solas were related and working together, but I prefer this theory now.

Btw: before the epilogue I always assumed that Solas just made a very good deal with a spirit of wisdom..

They could but the issue is more that we do not know the frequency of possible eye colors in Thedas.

 

It's entirely possible that there are tons of people with purple eyes, but it's also entirely possible that that isn't the case.

But keeping a low count of mages down makes sense in the way that if the clan has to put the mage down the less people they have to watch for corruption the better.  

I don't know if anyone remembers the clan that the Quizzy encounters in the Dales (Emerald Fields?  Something that starts with an E.)
But talking to the members there's at least three mages in the clan, maybe more.

Well, the colour is different now, so what is the point?  Personally, I don't remember reading anything stating it, but I was't paying much attention back then

The point was that book character could have been the same person as Solas.

Agreed, though I don't think there are any dread models floating around the net for free use like the hairs people keep using for all the Elderscrolls games and both DAO and 2. Maybe someone will make one of their own?

Modders haven't crack the code quite yet I believe. So we're still waiting a bit.

Is there a bug with Solas' quest? I never got the third quest and looking at my completed quest, his fade friend quest is not listed

I'm not familiar with the case specifically, but from what I recall it's taken the team that was attempting to mod something from it about two years (after BF3's release) to come up with something workable.

 

Granted that was on Frostbite 2, but I don't imagine a lot of things varied in the coding of it.

Minaeve (creature researcher in Haven) was such a person, and Vivienne says the Dalish only allow three mages to remain in a clan. It seems stupid and wasteful to me. With as precarious an existence as they lead, what if both the first and second die, leaving the clan without a Keeper? If you're that afraid of abominations, you shouldn't keep mages around at all.
