Where are people getting the firstborn thing from? 

 

While I agree that they didn't have to do the "frick frack snick snack" for it to be a great romance, I would like to think that they did it because it hurts even more for Lavellan that way. Mawhahaa... T_T

The firstborns was a joke far back in the early 1000s. XD Nothing serious, just someone asked why the title was changed and someone threw that as an answer.

The Silent Grove mentioned that dragons (and possibly the Old Gods) are inextricably linked to the health of the world. The Well of Sorrows mission also mentions that ancient Elven knowledge and technology, dragons, etc. are related to the existence of magic at least according to Morrigan. The Old God soul, is a part of that old pre-Imperium magic Morrigan just didn't plan on her character development.

Also, it would seem that Solas trapping the Elven Pantheon and the Forgotten Ones outside of the Fade had something to do with the loss of magical ability in the Elven population. The Well of Sorrows and Cole's reference to "everyone sung the same" would suggest that the Pantheon had some manner of control over the general populous.

Solas' conversation about the Inquisitor giving up the Well's power and how "no group has ever given up power once it had it" might be a reference to the Elven Pantheon and what caused the Elven Civil War. Elven lore talks about the Pantheon defeating their creator the Sun (who could realistically be the Maker, the fire motif and "creator of all" fits), perhaps the Pantheon gained some manner of power that allowed them to rise up. The eventual misuse of that power lead to the fall of Arthalan.

Also where in Val Royeaux do you get the banter about the cakes? Do you have to click on something? I haven't been getting any ambient banter there.

 

 

 

The cakes banter is something that comes up with Blackwall. I think the only requirement to get it is to go to Val Royeaux for the first time, and it can occur any time after that (don't hold me to that, though!). It's in this video at about the 1:52 mark.

My character became a Rift Mage, and Solas hasn't said a word. Sera talked, Cole talked a LOT, but nothing from Solas. You say he says something when you're a Knight-Enchanter? What about Mortalisi... mortalitasi? Is there a video, maybe?

I don't know if  am messing him him with Dorian, but I'm pretty sure he said my magic was different and felt more connected to the fade or something like that. Maybe I'm messing him up with Cole.

Sera made a comment about being a rift mage, when my Lavellan asked if her magic scared her.

 

My second Lavellan chose Tempest as her specialization, and she had a conversation with Iron Bull about it.  He compared it to Gaatlok, and made a comment on how he wouldn't be interested on putting the stuff on himself because he wouldn't want to singe his nipples

The entire card changing thing is kinda weird, it's a mix of approval and how you handle their personal quest I guess...

But I keep getting the same for Dorian and Vivienne, and even though I have high approval and handle the quest the "good way" I keep getting those grim looking cards

Yes, this is the romance card. Otherwise, the regular card changes into the Tower with a huge scary wolf shadow after completing the last main quest. It's not like Varric's card got changed after Here Lies the Abyss and then once more after his personal quest.

I think it's just romance related, someone with high approval and no romance confirmed they got The Tower card, I suppose it could relate to high approval plus...something else? I don't know..

Is Solas Felassan? Like Felassan was taken over, or possessed by Solas?

I don't mind that it shuts off a lot of players. It makes so much sense in the context of the game that "mere" friendship is not enough.

When I first saw Solas in the trailers and things I didn't think he was that cute. Actually, I had trouble deciding who to romance because I didn't think any of the romanceable guys for straight females were cute. But in the game Solas was like a black hole. You got too close to the perimeters and he sucked you in. Now I can't get out and am crushed to bits. His looks also grew on me.

I was just wondering because of how Felassan was talking to the figure, and because of the words that Briala spoke to command the Eluvian. It seemed like Fen'harel might have needed a body and took Felassan's, then changed his identity.
