I did a spit-take on that one. I was really surprised neither Solas nor Lavellan made a comment about it. Good job playing the Game guys.
Anyone know what they say if you take Cole? Do they just ignore him?
Yeah, Cole is ignored if you bring him.
Actually, since we're sort of talking about the Orleisian Ball - does anyone have the dialog of talking to a romanced Solas at the ball? Is there anything special? I was lame and brought Vivienne cos I thought she'd have the most special dialog...sigh.
The clearest thing I recall about his dialogue at the Winter Palace was his line where he's talking about courtly intrigue... he also mentions sex. Gah, I wish I had a save I could load to get that dialogue again, but all I can really remember was my reaction. I was just like, "Wait, wait, what? Repeat please?"
You do get to speak with him, he wears a silly hat, and you can dance with him once the mission objective is complete. It was awesome, silly hat and all.
Oh god, I missed dancing!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!
*cries*
I'm gonna have to try and find a save before that quest and take him...

I almost think blaming marketing is an excuse.
But one that was originally Dread Wolf but has been misinterpreted?
And I wonder if castelesd brands have similar roots.
Yeah I almost think so too. They haven't said they're spoilery...
Maybe they'll be released as a surprise in "World of Thedas" volume 2? One can dream...
I have a feeling that the dwarves and elves are linked somehow. They were both powerful empires/cultures at around the same time. Solas seems very familiar with them (though he somewhat condescendingly calls Varric "child of the stone"). They both seem to have lost a lot of their culture. I bet there's a lot of interesting Dwarfy stuff we'll learn eventually.
I desperately tried to keep my Origin couple Alistair/Tabris together in this game, BUT.

The was actually the first playthrough videos they posted. I was so pissed when I first watched it thinking it was an ending.
What do you mean the "Mage Quest"?

Ok, whew. That amount of dancing isn't enough to justify redoing that whole quest. I just had the same conversation with Josie instead, pretty much. I'll just head cannon it in.
I know Uirebhiril is joking but...I liked my Warden and would have liked to see her come back until I started lurking around the forums. Now it seems like all everyone ever talks about is how the Warden was so much better and they miss the glory days of DA:O. I'm much more interested in what's going on with the Veil and the Old Gods than I am with whatever my Warden is up to (curing the taint). I'm sure they're related and we'll find out later (like in DA:4), but the constant cries for Warden DLC at any cost is gettin' me down! /rant
The Solas stuff is definitely more relevant right now. It's not a subtle hint that something might be happening, it's a slap in the face: "HEY THIS GUY IS IMPORTANT." From a storytelling perspective it's hard to just say "meanwhile in the Anderfells..."
Re: where we're going next. I bet it's Tevinter! That's the heart of where all this seems to have started. The ancient elvhen and the magisters were all there. Plus think of how beautiful it would look with the new engine.
I am one of those Warden obsessed people. But I must admit, I'm now starting to love my quizzies more. Particularly my male one. I never played as a male Warden because I didn't enjoy it. But I love my sarcastic male inquisitor. Saving the world, with a smirk. I also loved my Lavellan as well. I dreamt of playing her as someone who was very innocent and unsure, and I managed to do just that. Made the heart crushing all the more potent.
That being said; if there was one person in Thedas I'd love my Lavellan to go Solas hunting with, it's Mahariel. The best way to sum her up would be to say, Blackwall would absolutely loathe her. Listening to all his talks about how the Wardens and what the Wardens should be with all their fighting over studying and honour and blah. Yeah... Mahariel never wanted to be a Warden. Argued against it all the way. She is a selfish individual who cares little for things such as 'honour', she is a bit like some kind of Zev/Dorian/Varric hybrid.
Because I hate her clan for sodding off to Kirkwall for seven years and being idiots, I also headcannoned her as not being a great lover of the Dalish after that. So she would find it hilarious to discover they'd been getting it wrong, and what she actually did by killing Flemeth. Ha. But the way I made her and the way I made Lavellan would make them an interesting comedy duo. Sort of like myself and my best friend, we don't seem like we'd fit but put us together and lols all round.
I at least know that Mahariel is with Zevran though, thanks to the letter I got. So I can be happy knowing there away together somewhere and I cant stop obsessing so much.
But now I have Lavellan to obsess over instead. Will these wounds ever heal!? Will she forever be tragically alone on her balcony at Skyhold!? Will my heart stop breaking!? I must have answers!

That would be 0 out of 3... please, have mercy!

And he's introduced as your serving elf or something, lol.
He was the last introduced for me, and it was as Lady Lavellan's elven manservant. Definitely did a spit take myself when I heard that.

I just finished the quest an hour ago and
I have a weird attachment to my warden, I just have to much nostalgia I might overdose. In my head cannon Lavellan and Mahariel meet and find out they are sisters
Why not? The Sabrae clan had to many mages at the time and gave Mahariel's sister who was a mage to another clan at their decade meeting thing. Of course neither Lavellan or Mahriel remember, they were just babies. That's just how I get through Dragon Age without crying from old memories, I'm a very emotional person.

Sigh....stupid Viviene. Should have brought Solas.
I actually didn't bring Solas on most of my main story quests. I was trying to branch out from bringing the same people with me all the time. What a fool I was.

I would double up on mages as necessary for quests or banter, but Solas was always along. I don't feel the need to drag my romance interest everywhere as a general rule, but in this case it made sense to have the bleeding Fade expert who is otherwise a font of knowledge travel with me, you know? ![]()
I'm kinda curious about how you guys play the game when it comes to choices and Solas approval?
