i liked how even lavellan's pose changed at the end of the convo every time depending on the dialogue option. that's what i call attention to detail!

I was not prepared for it.  I sat with my mouth open wondering how I never noticed this side of him before.  I thought he was going to HATE the ball, but he's totally drunk and lovin' it lol

hello fellow solasmancers  i just finished my solas romance and gosh.... i did the right thing to have romanced bull and then cullen first. i had to get mentally prepared for this (god bless spoilers). but now im afraid i'll only romance solas from now on (i'm a masochist)

 

that last scene... lavellan made some nice rage lines, i loved it that you're able to yell.  i just HAD to see all of the dialogue options for that scene.

and gosh that was a big number of loading screens i had to watch. so i made a compilation video of all dialogue options from the last scene if anyone's interested or too lazy to wait for the game to finish loading to see it all

So does anyone have any theories or explanations as to why, even though in some of those sequences, he is sadder, he walks away at a faster pace? Fan theories? Would love to hear.

I think part of it depends on how quickly he thinks Quizzie will recover. If you choose the stoic options maybe he's thinking "she's hurt but she'll be OK." When she curses at him maybe he feels a little betrayed: like he can't believe she believes he doesn't care for her (I'm grasping at straws here). The despair option must be really painful for him because she won't let go and almost makes him believe he should stay "Please vehnan (it's difficult enough to do this)". They're all pretty heartbreaking though.

GDL just nails Solas's lines in every version of the breakup scene! I love how the same lines will come out different ways depending on the Inquisitor's reactions. I wasn't crazy about AWR's delivery of some of her lines but Solas was on point as always. GDL puts great emotion in and he's really good at being angry or upset.

 

The "I....can't" line from when you beg him to stay stands out to me. He sounds like he's struggling to even get those words out.   I can't watch that version and the version where he refuses to say he doesn't care and think that Solas was just manipulating the Inquisitor and didn't love her. He gains nothing by breaking her heart and leaving her and acting sad about it.

remember when solas was totally an underdog and we had to wait until the very end to get his companion info and we cried on allan and he had to tell us to make sure to remember to eat and sleep

Think the difference is whether he allows himself to show the pain and weakness. In the I Don't Want To Lose You group it's definitely more difficult for him to break up, so he has to make up his mind, leave no room for Lavellan and himself. In those options which Lavellan seems to accept the break up, think he doesn't need to hold his feeling so tight and thus looks sadder?

Does he say something different after the Big Bad as well? I heard if you pick the "Tell me you don't care/tell me I'm some casual dalliance" option that he doesn't say "what we had was real," he says something like "you were right to be angry".

This sounds at least logical to me...still it is so heartbreaking ;_;

He does, but I can't remember the exact line.
