So, Patrick was talking on twitter about how Krem has an issue with chairs and he said, "I wrote Krem to be standing on the chair."

Wait. Weekes wrote Krem?! Of course he did. Of course he wrote both my favorite romance and my favorite non-companion. *pulls out inhaler* You glorious son-of-a-******!

Krem can never make up his mind about whether he wants to be sitting on the chair, or standing on the chair, or in front of the chair...

I didn't take it that way.

I tend to like it when theres new voices in the thread asking us how were so sure  Solas isnt just lying to Lavellan  the whole time.

Either its circomstances and personal shortcomings (how can you explain godhood after all) or its real deceptiveness (where his plan always came first and falling for Lavellan a sidebenefit he thought he could handle until he couldnt). The fact that theres no way to know right now makes the experience so powerful. It really comes down to a choice on what to believe and what to disregard.

Unlike other aspects of the the game, this is totally keeping me interested until the DLC. The rest of the game and the Inquisition story can appear a bit dull by comparaison (the amount of foreshadowing and diversity of interpretation is fascinating).

Does Corypheus know? I wonder about that. You'd think he would have said something to Solas, if you had him in the party, but I don't remember anything like that. It's possible that Solas looked different when he interacted with Cory originally or something like that. Maybe he worked through someone else.

I disagree; I don't think he will be a straight antagonist.

An antagonist doesn't need to be a mustache twirling villain or completely irredeemable. They only need to be in opposition to the protagonist. I suspect that's where Solas's story is leading him: opposition to the protagonist. Hopefully he fails, whether he's talked out of it or killed.

Corypheus comments about calling elves "rattus" to both the elven Inquisitor and Solas. He doesn't appear to recognize Solas.

After he dips and just leaves your crying (near a waterfall, which is convenient, so no one can hear) you return to skyhold and you can ask him about what the hell happened.

I think he's talking as much to himself there.

That's possible too. By the way, does anyone know the timeline between DA:2 and DA:I?

So next time we see Solas, Lavellan could either decide to follow him through fire or make him pay so baddly hed want to be dead (Im thinking locking him in an Eluvian. Forever alone. No Fade to keep escape in).

I cant wait !

I would agree with the general concept that an antagonist need not always be the Big Bad.

Look at DAO, for example.

Loghain was an antagonist, hands down. To some, irredeemably so. To others (such as myself), a sympathetic one. But an antagonist no less - he very much tries to kill your Warden, after all.

But the actual, mustache-twirling Big Bad of DAO was, obviously, the Archdemon, a raving, corrupted Old God trying to destroy the world in a Blight.

If that helps to illustrate the difference for anyone.

And as such, a good example with Loghain is that you could deem him beyond redemption/evil and execute him... or you could give him another chance and make him a Warden.

If they are setting Solas up as an antagonist (and not a Big Bad - Lord, I really hope they're not going down that path), I certainly hope we'll have the same option/choice on his fate as we did with Loghain. In that there was actually a choice to spare him/give him a chance at redemption.

The thing is that this change that's coming on the world appears to be inevitable anyway, so I doubt it's one or two players causing it to happen. They're trying to shape the course of the world as they're able, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Forcing us to participate in his downfall is not a plot that many of us here would want to play. Solas is becoming a popular character, though I'm sure the haters will be out there too (especially since he's picking up fangirls now and some people get jollies out of thwarting fangirls). If Bioware wants to sell DLC, they'll make it at the very least a mixed bag.

Someone said like twenty pages ago that Solas struggles with mitigating factors and that made a lot of sense to me.

He's also confusing because he seems to hate all the current races. At the same time, he cares deeply about people in general. I wonder if that ever gets confusing for him.

So confusing! Seriously!

Spoiler

He definitely cares about normal people, even non-elves. He's constantly making comments about "I hope we can help these people" and in Crestwood he keeps saying things like "these people deserved better than this" and they're all human. And he approves of doing little nice things for people and thinks it's important to notify the families of dead soldiers when in all rights he should see that as an insignificant thing. He also comments about the fate of the normal people a lot, something about how when things go back to normal, they'll all just be treated the same as they were and that's not right. He really resents when the common folk are manipulated and used and hates Inquisitors that do that (which is funny considering all the accusations of him being a master manipulator and just using the Inquisitor himself).

He totally screams

Spoiler
Sometimes he and Sera speak the same language even if neither of them realize it.

But yeah, I notice that Solas contradicts himself a lot. I wonder if even he knows exactly where he stands.

That was me, comparing him to an INTP on the Myers Briggs scale.
