Honestly, I think Bioware is never going to mess with revealing the Maker because it is clearly based on Jehovah and they're not going to touch that political mess and risk offending a good percentage of their fan base.

What if the Maker is like the non-interfering Iluvatar and the Elven Gods are like the Valar? The Elves believe their gods were themselves created.

I think it makes sense we don't get an automatic kiss from Solas.  He's the one in "control" and he keeps saying they shouldn't do it.  I just can't see him letting Quizzy kiss him when ever.

 

I love how in the first kiss scene he doesn't let her get away being the one to kiss him. He's all "oh no, if you're going to kiss me I am going to kiss you better ^{with fade tongue}"

I don't think so? Who know, his personal quest is bugged, maybe his romance is too. But it could just be that it's not really a traditional romance.  And what would you give someone who spends all their time in the fade. . . Well besides sexytimes.  >.>

Even though his romance is touching they sure left him out... a lot. Good GOD Cullen gets more scenes than him. No kiss when ever we would like,no gift and only 3 romance scenes with him.

 

But I am happy they made him an LI...just wish there were more scenes with him.

 

 

My new computer better do a better job with the game, I've been trying to download the game all day and it's only at 36%. Of course it's the computers fault when it shuts down after 10 minutes,fixed that.

About Solas role:

I think that the Darkspawn Taint was a form of steroid pump created by the Elven Gods to take on the Maker himself, if it is true that the Elven Pantheon were just very powerful immortal mages then it could be a case of history repeating itself with Cory and company, that the Elven gods sought the power of the Maker himself, now it could be that Mythal tried to stop Elgar'nan and the other gods from pursuing this path, which forced his husband to kill her (hence Flemeth saying Mythal was also betrayed like her) now I'm not 100% convinced that the Black City was the Maker's abode, what I am convinced is that it is the quarantine prison of the Elven Gods where Solas/Fen locked them up, the taint could either be an accidental side effect of the steroid (darkspawn taint) or the Maker himself punished the Elven gods by mutating their steroid into the present taint.

The song they use for the romance scenes is sooooo beautiful.  But!  I really wish it wasn't used for everyone T_T.  Romancing Cullen in my 2nd play through, and every time that song starts I feel like all of the air has been sucked out of the room.  Flashbacks to the final scene with Solas.  Uggggh my poor wittle heart.

Re: Gods, Elvish Lore & the Chantry

Okay, so I haven't actually thought this out so it's really more thinking out loud than a formed opinion, but.. we know now that the Elvish gods are real. Or at least that a version of them are real. We know that because we've met two. (What is the connection between Fen'harel and Mythal? Why are those the only two at the Temple of Mythal? I'm going to pretend like maybe Fen'Harel is like a son to Mythal.) So all of the other gods, the "good" ones and the "bad" ones too. That's not going to work out that well for Fen'harel- you maybe even if 8/10 gods forgive him for locking them behind a mirror for a zillion years, you'll still have two royally pissed off gods.

 

The regular pantheon of gods and the forgotten ones aside, you still have Andraste (who is a real person) and the Maker. Who may or may not be real but I don't see why the elves gods could be real and not the human god. What if the Maker -is- one of the "forgotten ones" said to be against the elves? Or a god that is really powerful and became "the maker" to the humans through legend. Or maybe all of the forgotten ones are human versions of the elvish gods.  What if Fen'harel accidentally locked up the maker? lol.

 

Nevermind, I'm just rambling now. I just think it's so fascinating all the questions it raises.

Oh yes, he's very passionate. Talking about the "power, intrigue, danger, and sex" at the ball and then there's that second kiss... maybe it's cause I had headphones in, but I heard a LOT of lip/tongue smacking noises, lol. Git it boi!

I don't think the writers will invalidate the Chantry's beliefs and put the Elves on a pedestal and humanity in the dust, remember that the Elves themselves believe their gods were created, the Maker is probably real but the Chantry's details regarding him are obscure at best

And Andraste came after the fall of the elves if I'm remembering correctly. I'm sure the elves would've jumped on her being an elven god if they thought it were true.
