Agreed!  Although... we didn't get our Solas sexy scene. :3  But I would be extremely happy just knowing they can be together.    We need a Wolf Hunt DLC!

All of my characters have been women, red-heads, with names starting with "A" that romance elves (which was an unintentional pattern until Inquisition). You'd think someone in Thedas would have noted a pattern but nooooo.

I always interpreted that as a default world state rather than canon.  it's mostly for those that haven't played the previous games, so setting it like that leaves less threads that wouldn't be relevant for someone that never played through it.

Yeah, it's not really canon, it's just a convenient default state for the extended media.

Lol my cannon Warden and Hawke both have names starting with A and romanced someone whose name started with an A.

 

I finally broke the mold with Ellyna and Solas. But if Hawke could have been Dalish, it would have been all Dalish women saving the world.

Man I just beat the game and although I knew what would happen, playing it for yourself really changes the perspective. I'm also never touching my Canon lavellan play through again unless some type of DLC  or expansion comes out. Luckily I have a save before the final battle but knowing the outcome still makes me feel numb. I should not have made Solas my first romance because now all other romances are officially ruined for me ( tried romancing Cullen for a second happier play though just went meh and lost all heart). There is really so much beauty in Solas's romance even with so little scenes but the lack of closure is just heartbreaking. I'm actually thinking of making a smokin hot Lavellan for Cassandra just so I can crush on my own inquisitor, that might help a little and I do like Cassandra. Has anyone made some handsome male Lavellans? I've been having trouble with that and I don't want to roll a human right now.

I have heard people claim on this forum that Alistair is half elf, his mother being Fiona, so if your inquisitor is an elf, and Briala is ruling Orlais, you could end up with all of southern thedas being run by Elves, and a halfy.

We don't really know what his end goal is yet. But suffice to say, even if he wanted to get rid of the veil, he wants to do it his way rather than what Corypheus was doing.

and in my head cannon, that's the only reason my Lavellan can come up with as to why Solas had to break her heart. She thinks he's worried it'll look bad for the Inquisition to basically be run by two elves (cos I pretty much always do whatever my LI wants). She just can't come up with a better reason...

Does it concern any of you that Solas describes the ancient elven artefacts as belonging to his people, but states that he does not view (modern?) elves as his people. Sounds sinister but may not be a big deal.

Not really given the amount of prejudice against elves- while most nations are secular in Thedas a lot of power is held by the Chantry and they can have a big influence on whether people accept your right to rule or not.. since monarchies are considered monarchies by divine right.. It is more the issue that he is already going into the kingship with the double whammy of being illegitimate and elf blooded- which a good chunk of the very powerful at the Landsmeet know since Loghan and Eamon were well aware of Marics affair with Fiona

atm I have two world states; i like making sure each of my characters live in slightly seperate worlds.

 

my lavellan exists in a world where my warden and hawke were both mages who romanced other mages. Warden romanced morrigan and did the ritual for OGB. He was a man interested in magical power, yet had a good heart. 

 

this hawke was a freindly, though sometimes snarky, mage who romanced merril. Notably hawke helped restore the elluvian for merril.

It's semi-confirmed in the game, too.  Fiona will ask about King Alistair and if he seemed happy, mentioning that she used to know his father.  It's at 3:20 in this video:

This is definitely true, but it's pretty much as close to a canon as we'll get, unless they wrap up Solas' plotline in a book/graphic novel and even those aren't considered canon canon. And, so far, when the books focus on characters from the game, their relationship with the progatonist(s) have been left vague.

Rid of the veil AFTER Cory is dead. right now it would just help Cory's plan.
