RE: Snape discussion. I was always on the "Snape is good" side. I mean, how could you not be, with that scene of Snape and DD arguing? But I don't like comparing Snape to Solas. Snape was mostly bad with a couple of good, but I feel like Solas is much more gray, if not leaning toward good. If they were exact analogues, then we would be led to think Solas is good, then it turns out he's actually evil.

Snape is cool but it's hard to think of him as a romantic interest because he won't wash his hair. Solas on the other hand is just so charming without even trying.

What's sorta neat is I could see that from two views: either Lavellan after he's gone OR that potential scene someone brought up pages ago about Solas visiting Skyhold yeeeeeeeears after Lavellan and the rest have passed away.

True, but I was leaning towards the fact that Snape killing Dumbledore appeared to be a big, bad thing when the truth was...more complicated than that. I think Solas appears to be doing a big, bad thing, but I'm led to believe that it is...more complicated than that.

I've been lurking the past few days but I honestly can't take it anymore. The Solas romance broke me, and I really hope Bioware doesn't leave Lavellan hanging, I need some closure for her sake. I even had a cry because of all the feels, help!

Well, I'm back, folks, after my media blackout.  I got the feeling Solas wouldn't end well when I began to suspect who he was (fairly early on, even).  Count me in as one of the people who dearly hopes that there's some kind of resolution in the form of DLC or the like.

I want him back in my party.  He had my best mage armor when he left.

 

And I feel so terrible for my Inquisitor, Uth'Shiral Lavellan, too... How's she going to go back to her Dalish clan now?  She'll be an outcast.  And Solas promised an explanation, but didn't so much as leave a goodbye note.

 

But beyond the romance, I'm curious as to the significance of that orb.  Could it be that it was the source of his immortality?  Or something else?  Why did he need it?  And yet he still wants to "help the people?"  At least he's sort of a good guy?

You and me both.  I thought it was actually inappropriate that my Inquisitor was animated to smile, when her heart was breaking.

 

I've got this headcanon now that she'll stay alone forever, now, hoping that Solas one day returns.
