One thing I don't get is - if you sided with the mages and go into the future, Solas is captured. If he truly is the Dread Wolf how could he allow himself to be captured like that. Also if Corphy did manage to defeat him you would think he wouldnt allow Solas to live, or would at least have a better prison (i mean look at Corphys prison!)

When he slept, most of his power was kept in the orb, and without it he hasn't got his god mojo. Still he doesn't seem to be despairing, just happy that there's a solution, so that to me was foreshadowing that he's more than he seems to be.

Heh, yeah, it's funny that Solas makes "the veil is thin here" into something positive (and sexy  ) whereas everyone else in Thedas finds that creepy and horrible, since those are the places where death and demons hang out.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned (because I haven't read all 1072 pages of this crazy thread!!).

 

The Dalish face the statue of Fen away from camp and much of their language, especially concerning wellbeing, involves a fear of Fen. However, we look at the Elves that first settled the Dales after the first Exhalted March in Andraste's time, and their respect for wolves is blinding obvious. Statues everywhere in the Emerald Graves! The Codex concerning the Knight's Guardians is of particular interest. It details the Emerald Knight's wolf guardians, who chose one knight as their eternal partner. They spent their lives together, and as the knights slept, their Guardians watched over them. Clearly the original elves of the Dales had not the fear of Fen that their descendants (the Dalish) grew to possess. Their view is borderline reverence!

 

I hope this is a small indication of Solas' future in DA:I, particularly in reference to the romance (which I dearly love!). Wolves do not survive alone.

I don't think it is a coincidence that when he painted something to represent the Inquisition, he painted a pack of wolves. It must have been nice having a pack for a short while. ;;

Pretty sure this is true. The way acts during 'Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts' implicates as much.

I love that, not just because of Solas but because it's good development and obviously was intended to show how mythology can be altered and distorted by propaganda and the mists of time. This game turned a lot on its head in regards to elven and Fade lore, but in a natural way versus retcon. This pleases me.

 

I will say, the one thing I feel is missing from the Solas romance is a token like Alistair's rose or Zevran's earring. Equippable wolfjaw amulet, pls!

What are your estimates on when the dlc/expansion will come out? I think if it's 3 months it'll be a dlc. I would rather wait more like 6 months for them to do a good job.

Well, they usually start working on DLC as soon as the bulk of the main game is finished, so if there's any DLC coming, it might be coming pretty soon.

I am so glad I'm not the only one who guessed the wolf pack under the Inquisition logo was meant to represent the Inquisition members and him having a "pack" again, even if only briefly.

 

A friend and I had been discussing that on Twitter the other day. She wasn't sure why he painted several wolves (as opposed to, say, just one to represent his lone wolf self). And my response was that it was the whole Inquisition, his new pack. She got feels from that.

The entire dialogue in the fade is Solas telling you how unique, how a "rose in the dirt" you are. That kiss was your "Alistair's Rose".

I have not posted since the ME3 ending drama, swore not do do it again. Then the Solas-Romance came along...
 
I did, because I wanted my Lavellan to sound witty, wise, and a bit older than the average Hero in his/her 20's.

She does sound like her usually calm composure is breaking at this point.
Inquisitor: "Tell me you don't care." Still delivered relatively calm, but there is a denial in her voice.
Solas: "I can't do that."
To which she replies confused, sad, and close to bursting into tears: "Tell me I was some casual dalliance so I can call you a cold hearted son of a ****** and move on!"
 
It makes the moment all the more heart-wrenching. The shoving becomes more like lashing out helplessly in confusion, than anger. When the Inquisitor turns away, it is more as if she was trying to hide the stream of tears running off her cheeks. After reloading this sequence several times, I felt like he deserved that treatment. Nothing could be worse than seeing his loved one so confused and lost.
 
Watched a video on YT with the british voice actress, and it does not sound like that at all. Highly recommend giving the deeper voice a try. Especially with the central dialouge options.

 
PS: Has anyone mentioned Solas default tarot card yet? I would suspect it is from the Suit of Disks, Five of Disks

There is not much to find when looking for the bright sight of the card, nevertheless it is a fact that every burning of a forest results in many little sprouts that appear afterwards, having the most fertile ground in the ashes. But of course, the old forest doesn't need to burn down completely - the card can also talk of the worry that it might do so just because it burns somewhere in the near.
