I was thinking about the sequence of what he says and depending on how it goes, it all kind of epitomizes clueless male syndrome. He takes her to a special spot to break up with her, and tells her she's beautiful... right after he alters her face. We know he didn't mean it as a "okay, now you're beautiful" thing, but man, he's not exactly a smooth operator. Of course, that naivete is part of the charm of his character. He can navigate the Fade but doesn't have a map for this, and his analytical mind forms connections that make sense to him but not necessarily to other people.

Exactly how you expect the dread wolf to look like.I like both this look and the bald head,needless to add that the bald head makes more sense when it comes to an elf awaking from uthenera all things considered.I can imagine him having hair during some points of his life.

Wow, Mihris is really rude to Solas. She called him a flat-ear and insinuated that he wouldn't be able to move the rocks in front of the artifact cave thing in the Hinterlands. :| She wasn't rude to him last time I did this quest... I guess that's because my Lavellan was a mage last time, and this time I've got a rogue (so Solas is the only mage in the party)? If she's so superior just because she's got tattoos all over her face, she could've lifted up the rocks on her own...

 

That's really odd.  On both my mage and rogue Lavellans she didn't say anything to Solas at all.  Then again, I never asked him to speak to her, either.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the reason--she talked to Solas this time and not the time with my mage because I was stupid and stood in front of the rocks for a while with my rogue trying to move them with him... (I have three mages, okay. I forget that I'm not one sometimes. >_>)

Something I was thinking of earlier... I'm much sadder for my Inquisitor, who put so much trust and love into Solas (who, according to in-game dialogue, was also somehow her first love).  But, does anyone else here think we should be sad for Solas?

I wonder if he would have explained things if he'd gotten the orb--perhaps he would have then had some means to share immortality with Lavellan.  But even if he had, he had to be thinking that Lavellan would never, ever accept him as Fen'Harel.  And considering what he said at the ball, he's clearly not asexual.  All that time spent yearning, wanting... and knowing if he did, he'd be making it even harder to leave when the time came.  The time was going to come, sooner or later.  He would have to leave, and, well, Uth'Shiral is mortal.  It wouldn't be easy to watch her grow older by the day if he couldn't do anything about it.

 

I still feel sorrier for Lavellan, because Solas promised to explain and he didn't.  He led her on, when he could have simply said "No," from the beginning.  He didn't even leave a note for her wishing her goodbye.

 

But, for those who've also seen the ending cut, I wonder what will happen now that Mythal/Flemeth is part of Solas/Fen'Harel?  Not to mention the Old God Urthemiel.  Some think he's up to no good, but he said he was off to help the people and I am inclined to believe that's his actual intent, given his actions throughout the game and the fact that he seemed to like it when you helped people (elves specifically).  And yet he seemed so miserable over the orb.  What's its significance?  Also, he really didn't want you to use the Well, but if you did... well if Flemeth is a part of him, the Inquisitor is now bound to him in that respect as well.

 

Something else that I've been wondering that I think might be somehow related to Solas:  Solas/Fen'Harel was apparently asleep/wandering the Fade until the beginning of Inquisition.  Was he Felassan's master?  Corypheus was not searching for the eluvians at that time.  If so, then why did Solas need the eluvians and why did he murder Felassan when it would have also suited his purposes to have Briala take control of the eluvians?  My theory is that it wasn't Solas or Corypheus, but whoever it is, is the reason that Fen'Harel, Mythal, and Urthemiel are teaming up.

 

I'm also deeply concerned about that orb, because both Solas and Flemeth seemed to think it was a terrible thing to lose.  What was it meant to do?

 

I would love to see the Inquisitor able to tie up loose ends with Solas, would like even more for him to permanently return to my party.  But I can't foresee any further romance content, unless Solas decides suddenly that he needs an Old God Baby or something.

If you look closely at the Solas artifacts, they are orbs that are seated in a base.  I believe those artifacts are what is powering the Veil.  Dagna says that the mark is a key, so I think that orb was the one that controlled all the others.  So, whatever Solas intends to do with the Veil, he still needs Lavellan's mark.

Solas really is a good guy, not corrupted.. and Flemeth was the evil one.. so maybe he did kill her at the end? Or at least, try to, since she would interfere with his plans to undo what he has caused? I guess that is why he gets angry/sad about the foci orb Cory welded breaking at the end of the game... but it still doesn't explain why he had to leave Maybe because he is the only one who actually knows what the orbs are, and they are not really related to the rifts etc, so he thinks the Inquisitions won't really scour around to try to find them all to fix the problem HE caused? Remember one of the first times you talk to him in Haven, he mentions the orbs and how they are powerful and fascinating, and how he wants to find them (and also acts like he doesn't really know 100% what they are used for.. lol). And he probably doesn't want to explain to everyone WHO/WHAT he is?

Someone in the Dread Wolf thread mentioned something that I'd forgotten, all the way through the game he referred to the (ancient) Elves as "my people", in the scene at the end he said "The People" need him, did we..did we change is outlook?
