As someone who mainly rolls females (when given the choice) my 'hope' romances are Solas as top choice, then Cullen and unlikely but fingers crossed, Varric for a female dwarf. Then maybe Sera and Iron Bull last. (sorry Iron Bull fans, his voice actor may get me to change my mind )

 

Dorian and Cass may get me to play a male inquisitor, or rather finish a male inquisitor play through.

Sorry   I have a feeling the LIs I want the most won't be available to the Inquisitor I want to play first (female mage), but I used to be enamored of Cullen so I'm trying to get really excited about that again.  You know what would solve all of the world's problems?  Bisexual LI Solas.  World peace, BAM.

I want Solas for my fem mage Inquisitor and then if I can't have him I guess either Cullen or Iron Bull. I'm growing to like Iron Bull a lot and I always thought Cullen was cute so I guess it isn't TOO bad. Solas is just so far above them on the list, though haha!

I wish... They did put up a Leliana interview, unfortunately I'm on my phone so I can't grab a link. And we found out Solas is in his early to mid- forties.

Is it weird that actually makes me want to romance him more? Urrgh... The wait to find out whether he's romancable is going to kill me...

Also, I don't think his age is any indicator of him not being an LI. Cass is about 40, Cullen is likely at least 35, and remember Bioware did promise more mature romances this time around.

No, no it is not. I've dated more than one man in his forties and I'm only in my 30's, so it'll be nice not to feel like I'm robbing the cradle if Solas is a romance. It's actually one of the few attractive points to giving the Cullen romance a go, to me. And AGREED. I just REALLY want to know so that I can squee or move on.

If Solas is a LI, I bet he's bi, and if he's a LI but not bi, I suspect that means Cullen is.

 

That said, of the potential LI, I think either Cullen or Blackwall are the most likely to be the straight male characters.

I had taken it to mean a lack of wacky emotional drama. (But Fandom in general tends to take everything as relating to sex.)

I must say, after reading Solas' interview I haven't been really interested in anyone else, at least for my first playthrough (damn it Solas!  )  . I may change my mind though, maybe even before the game release.

Anyways, in order it'd be something like this: Solas>Dorian>Blackwall/Cassandra>Iron Bull>Sera. I've never been a fan of Cullen, so I'm not interested in his romance. LI or not I don't know what to think about Vivienne yet (she is written by Mary Kirby, who also wrote Sten and Loghain, two of my favorite Bioware characters ever, who are also very... morally ambiguous, yet not unreasonable, so despite me being very pro-mages, I'm looking forward to hearing her points of view), and I see Varric more as a bro than a potential LI. Cole as well.

But who knows, I can't really say until we know more about them all.

yeah i'm thinking the same. I love to plan stuff in my third or second playthrough, but the first one I'll just go with the flow and what seems right at the time

Haha, yeah. It never even occurred to me it might relate to the sex scenes until a whole bunch of threads popped up assuming it was so. Granted, I've got pretty filthy mind, but reading all that made me feel prudish and old, since my first assumptions were emotional maturity, or that the characters were a bit older/more grounded.

Yea I edited my post a few times because I had not really prepared for a romance outside of Cass. So instead I agree with you on going blind (mostly). I will try out whatever romances interest me, but for now because we do not know exactly have set details as to who the others outside of Dorian and Sera will be available to romance anyways I will just wait and see and just focus on the characters themselves.

btw Cole is going to be sticking with me a great portion of the game I feel. I cannot wait to get to know him more.

   @Cat_Lance @dragonage In CharGen today, you could make a nicely mature face, and I don't believe we ever dictate your age specifically.

I'll put mine closer to my own age so I can join Solas and Blackwall in their conversations about younguns and shake my walking stick at them, but age sliders?  Pah, I look a lot younger than I am

I'm hoping to be able to do that too. And, indeed. It never feels right to add wrinkles to make my character "look my age" when I don't have them and I am my age.

 

Well, I don't know if he's on his twenties, but he has an angsty son we'll deal with. His name is Cole. And we are adopting him.

I'm thinking of rolling with Blackwall because GWs are pretty tolerant of oddities (i.e. Cole), as long as they can get the job done. It would also make one companion of each class. (Also I like having a flock of digital men following me around )

I really really wanna make Varric Cole's uncle, and bring him along with Solas and Cole. Solas and Cole would be enthusiastically talking about magic and theology, and then Varric would interject to make sure the two absent minded idjits are taking care of themselves, in his own snarky way (cause that's what Varric does). But my first Inquisitor is going to be an artificer rogue, and unless I can spec Cole to dodge tank we're gonna have some problems.

Yea that's what I was thinking. Also in DA: 2 Varric also proves that he would make a good uncle. He watched out for some of the companions especially Merrill by paying off the guards and giving her the ball of twine for when she got lost.

I'd say either Blackwall or the IB, who's been said to think of him as a kid who needs to learn how to have fun. Blackwall would be the cool, nice uncle (and I think they'll share many points of view) and the IB a terrible (yet well-intended) influence. Varric... after Justice I'm not sure he'll be cool with having more spirits around, so who knows. And I hope Cassandra doesn't hate him, or the only positive femenine influence the guy will have around will be mine, given what Sera  and Vivienne think of him.

Also, yes, toss it into twitter, please. I'm kinda curious as well
