on reviving the ancient Gods. He doesn't strike me as selfish, and from what he says it seems like bringing back the creators would only serve to assuage his guilt. He never says anything good about them, unless I am forgetting something. And as much as he doesn't consider the Dalish/City Elves to be his people, he doesn't seem to hate them either. He's angry at the modern elves, but he also knows that they cannot help their ignorance. I think sometimes he fulfills an almost paternal role when dealing with them, even though other times he tries to distance himself. I really wish we knew who he was referring to when he tells Mythal "The People need me."

I'm not sure he's not that selfish. After all, he feels himself fully qualified to decide what's best for an entire race and when that doesn't work out his response is "they were slaves but they were better off as slaves." It's very, "things were terrible then too but at least it was a breed of terrible I am familiar with." Tell him you put things back the way they were before Corypheus and he says: "You honor the past and work to recover what was lost, even if the cost is high. I respect that, and I am indebted to you for the reminder." Whether he's freeing the gods or just trying to put things back the way they were in old Arlathan, he definitely seems to be fixated on the past as the solution.

Oh my god, that OP.

 

Ever since this guy was confirmed everyone seems to have been dissapointed how ugly, boring and most of all BALD character bioware dares to fling at us.This irritates me a bit because we have not even heard anything of his personality or history.

 

That is why I think it would be funny if he turned out to be in the end the best LI Bioware has created or something so all naggers would have to awkardly eat their own preconceptions.

I heard there was a party banter with Solas and Varric where Varric says Solas always talks about the Fade, and Solas says he doesn't and the rest of the party chimes in? Can someone link that and tell me what time that starts? I'd love to hear it.

It's not really a banter. It's commentary on the Exalted Plains. At about 0:47 is the Varric one and 2:22 for Solas mentioning the Veil.

So I know I'm a bit late to the party, but when everyone was talking about the Clan Lavellan missions I got inspired, and I just wrote this. Very, very minor spoilers, nothing major, but just a warning for fresh faces just loading up the game. If you've gotten past "In Your Heart You Shall Burn" then you're good. It is Solavellan but other characters are there as well.

 

I'm lurking but greatly enjoying the conversation, even if its a little too fast for me to participate. Thank you fellow Solassians! Its nice to have a support group!

Might have been posted before but tumblr user Vaporware-femme worked together with some other people to make translations of the elven spoken lines in the game. It was so sudden and unexpected. I couldn't even play for a while after it happened. As it stands, their story just seems unfinished. Without any continuation in a DLC/ expansion, it will really feel like an incomplete story.

I agree, I felt cheated just a little, I was relieved when the post credits cutscene happened. If they don't do a DLC I would be very surprised and sad.
