I like to imagine Solas introducing Lavellan to all kinds of wonders of the Fade that she never thought possible .  And maybe, just maybe, there's hope for them in the future.

So I just gotta write this somewhere cause of all the feels. I have been a Cullenite for a while and of course during my first playthrough I romanced Cullen. However, when Solas was revealed to be a romancable character and was described as "the Mind" I knew I was going to romance him in my second playthrough as I am attracted to very intelligent men. I just finished my second play through and all I can say is "wow"! Although I really liked my Cullen romance, I felt so much more emotionally invested in the Solas romance and more importantly in the game itself. I actually cried when he ended things. I had started my playthrough as pro-elf and a strong believer in the Elfen gods, but after being around Solas I answered more often with "I don't know". I think Patrick Weekes did an amazing job at writing him and Gareth David-Loyd's superb voice acting was just the icing on the cake.
I think it is safe to say that Solas (non-romanced) will be addressed in either a DLC or DA4, but I really hope that the romance with him will also be addressed. I also really hope that Solas is still Solas more or less and not just possesed by Flemeth/Mythal. We will just have to wait and see.

Okay I've been thinking about contributing my own song to this playlist thing ya'll have going on and I find that literally every song I listen to I somehow try to connect to DAI in some way without even thinking..(I'm still in near obsessive mode)..but the other day I was listening to Tove Lo (who you should probably start to listen to if you don't already) and this song reminds me of the end a lot.

So my new favorite past time when I'm driving is listening to banter playlists on YouTube and I've been listening to the party comments based on various locations. There is a hilarious running joke some of you have probably heard. Every time Sera comes into a new area she goes "Ohhhh the Veil is scratchy here" or "the veillllllll is wet", mocking Solas. It's really funny, and in one of locations Varric or someone mentions how Solas is always taking about the Veil and Solas acts all affronted "I do not." And then the party members are all like...."actually bro yeah you do" lol. It's great.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who does this. Yes, yes, it is absolutely imperative that I hear Solas talk about how much he adores power, intrigue, danger, and sex on my way to work...

Just have another head canon might support the idea that

inquisitor might have absorb at least the key feature from Solas's orb. Remember in the future you can find notes mentioning Cory demand Alexius to reverse time to the point of conclave, probably to prevent Quizzy from claiming the anchor, and threaten to kill Alexius if he fail. It's seems that although that future Cory still have the orb, he's not able to create anchor, even at that time he probably also gain the knowledge from well of sorrow. So it appears to me that Quizzy has absorbed the unique key feature or key function from the orb.

This thread moves so quickly! Yay Solas!

 

I was going through my screenshots folder and I think I actually pinpointed the moment when my Lavellan really fell for him, which surprised me because it was during Wicked Hearts and for me that's like 50-70 hours into the game. She was actually feeling pretty unsure about him after the Fade sequence, but this moment cinched it. I like going back through my folder, their faces are so expressive. There's a really wistful feeling I get off them that I don't from the other romances like they're lingering just on the edge of a cliff but never quite jumping off into the water below.

I really hope we do get more content with him via DLC, expansion. In the meantime, their relationship inspires a ton of post-game headcanon   which I'm actually fairly content with. It is hard without closure.

Between the two of them, Solas has the hardest time actually letting go. He's a wolf, he needs his pack and he's not really meant to walk alone. He feels he has to, but he's not good at it. It proves to be harder than he thought it would be, easier when he was still at Skyhold when he could still see her from time to time. He's also very proud and the idea of the Quizzie getting on without him hurts and it's getting between him and the Fade. He goes through phases where he imagines/dreams of her moving on with other members of the Inquisition like Cullen and Bull (which he knows is wrong because Bull/Dorian is a thing). He knows the jealousy is foolish and the worries are childish, he can't control what she does and doesn't have any claim on her now anyway. Still, he can't put it behind him. He really seems to like hanging onto his mistakes, so he can self-flagellate for a while. Solas doesn't have as good a handle on his emotional side as he likes to think and the more he pushes it away, the more it keeps creeping in. Lavellan leaves a long shadow, so the Fade is full of her.

 

Lavellan puts up a good front, but she's not doing hot. She's still got her support structure and they're worried about her. Instead of looking for him, she throws herself into work. She wants to better understand the past and help her people recover what they've lost, especially now that she knows how much. My Quizzie decidedly fills his team spot/Fade exploration buddy with Dorian and Cole in an effort to avoid dealing with her feelings. Of course, Dorian being Dorian and Cole being Cole, they don't let her. She works on better understanding the Fade and the anchor, which is not about Solas.  No, no, definitely not.

 

He keeps running across her anyway because he's trying to get her out of his head by going to other ancient places and she's rather busily trying to investigate all the old ruins he said were interesting. He notices her, but she doesn't notice him at first. Then, he keeps dropping by places where he thinks she'll be or where there are Fade memories of her explorations to watch as part of the "just one more time" syndrome. Like he's constantly checking his exes facebook page. He knows he should stop. Knows it's foolish and stupid and more than a little cruel like consistently ripping a band aid off a festering wound, but he just... can't. He thinks it'll be okay so long as Lavellan never notices he's there.

 

She totally does.

 

Abelas comes back because the world was more full of humans than he expected and needing the Inquisition's help to find a new home. They become... something. Close? Friends? I don't know what. It might be something, it might seem like more than it is. Either way, it upsets Solas. The parallels are just too close to his relationship with Lavellan and his pride (because he thinks he's always right and what he finds to be special/important others will too) drives him a little crazy. Something. Dreams. Something. Jealousy. Something. Sex?

 

I don't know, the possibility of a Abelas x Lavellan x Solas love triangle really just amuses me. In terms of lies versus honesty and moving on into a new world, it's a fun crack ship to think about. Not anything that I think could happen, of course.

I could see that. Given the bigger story implications it may both take more time and they may want it released closer to the next game. That's if it's even handled in DLC. There's the awful possibility that we won't get answers until the next game.

Well last DLC could mean more options as to how it all ends, maybe fan service

 

If its the first dlc and you can either kill/save him (just an example, i dont want something so simplistic) then they might not add him back for the next DLC after that cause of player choices, voice acting cost and th like.

 

 

I guess what I mean is that i rather not have it be like for Hawke and Fenris where they are together but never at the same place at the same time anymore -.-

It would be nice if people made some mods of just the inquisitor resting on Solas' shoulder or getting a hug. We can't mod voice acting, but simple things like that would be sweet.

I was wondering if the butt grab was intentionally or just a glorious accident. Someone should ask a dev. Either way, it's awesome.
