From that tweet, I guess we can assume that Solas and Blackwall are good with each other as well.
So he gets along with him, Cassandra and Cole.
How do you think he'll get along with the others?

Maybe there'll be some tension between him and Cullen, even if, after all that happened, I'm not sure what is Cullen's stance towards mages anymore. (We'll learn more about it these days, hopefully!). 

This is what was said about Leliana and her relationship towards the other members of the Inquisition:

Maybe Solas will also clash with Sera because I see her as impulsive and practical

Solas and Varric are my first choice for romance, with Iron Bull as "emergency". I can't find very interesting Cullen, i have tryed, but I can't be very exited about him.

 

I have this feeling IB and Varric, if they are LI, will be race gated. IB for humans and Qunari both male and female, Varric only for elves and dwarfs, and maybe for female only. That would make them race and gender gated, so Solas may be the "jolly" card, and be the bi/for every race romance.

 

I'm not worried about the age thing. Most of the companions are more near the 40s than the 20s. Varric if I remember well, have more than 40 years, IB surely is not in his 20s, more for middle 30, early 40.

Blackwall seem older to me. early 50s, I think. the joke about the "kids" can be because Solas act much older than the rest of the group, more like Blackwall who is the eldest. (it would be actually cute some banter with Varric joking about Solas acting as an old man)

 

I'm of course hoping for Solas being an LI. But I find him interesting as a character mostly. If he is not an LI, I will eat an ice cream, and than returning to be exited about him. (but if both him and Varric aren't available...well, I will need two ice cream.)

Yep! If I had guessed his age, I would have put him mid 30's. Patrick tweeted & said something like he was 40-43.

Here is an analysis of Solas as the Hermit in the tarot deck that comes with the collector's edition. who knows if he actually is the hermit but he fits it and his pose on his card is similar so..

I'm not super worried about it tbh. If he isn't a romance option I'll be sad for a few minutes but I'll get over it quickly. He'll still be an integral part of my party regardless.

Same. Hopeful, not too worried, and I don't foresee a massive nervous breakdown here if he isn't. One of the reasons I like it in here is that we're a pretty even-keeled lot! I will say that you young'uns in here are making me feel unusually old!  When I was in my late teens and twenties, yes, I thought 40 was this distant, wrinkly, disturbingly parental age. I would like to assure the Solassians currently in the same "Wow, that's...pretty old" position that it's not. I promise. I swear. The only real differences between 40 and 20 (provided one takes reasonable care of oneself and doesn't take the whole "grown-up" thing too seriously) are a few laugh lines and a heightened level of comfort with who you are. My experience, anyway. I'm in my late 30s and am mistaken for being in my 20s all the time, though I suppose it could just be because of my excellent collection of pop culture related tee shirts...

 

Anyway, a little age looks good on a lot of guys. If Solas does end up a LI, though, I hope they don't call it a "mature" romance, because ew. That makes it sound like a date with him would involve taking advantage of the senior discount at the local tavern and splitting an Ensure while comparing age-related ailments.

I would like for them to release the chart too. We will probably know by release a great bit of the romances at least so there is not too much worry. It seems like they are releasing details in the chart a little at a time and I'm fine with that and understand with marketing and all that other stuff they have planned. Anyways that's just my opinion on that.

 

Right now I can see that Solas:

gets along with-

Blackwall

Cole

Cassandra

Probably Varric

Dorian (him being free from the circle and being proud of being a mage essentially)

 

not get along with-

Sera (probably cannot relate to him. I can see a lot of argumenting between them.)

Vivienne (pro-circle mage)

Iron Bull (until they get over their differences on how they should view life, but IB is implied to be laid back so this will probably change.)

I like Solas as The Hermit, I have a good friend who I always associate with that card, he's a Mage/Druid, one of my favourite people irl..

I definitely agree abouit the Hermit/Seeker fitting Solas perfectly. (I can also see the Death card still, if that's what they went with.) I could also see them applying the Hermit card to Cole though. He is very truly isolated and on a journey of self discovery.

 

And of course, they might have created their very own Major Arcana, as other games/books/shows have done. Hm. Do we know if they are going with traditional? Geez I can't wait to get my hands on those cards.

Hugs Brass Buckles.  You always make coherent and well thought out posts and I do enjoy them.  I think the wild speculation about Solas being a romance is mostly fueled by hope and lack of information about him.  We still only have a few tiny snippets of information so the thread is still running on fumes.  I, personally wouldn't be crushed if there were no romances at all.  They are a fun, but non-essential, part of gameplay.  I loved the original Baldur's Gate even with its fairly limited (by today's standards) companion interactions and no romances at all. 

 

Personally, I would love to see a weekly fan art/fanfic challenge on this thread based on a theme, like we had in the old Zev thread.  However,  I don't know that we have enough information on Solas to make that work yet.  The artwork in here is so amazing that I don't worry about that, but fanfic is much harder without even a snippet of dialog to base the character's tone off of (not that I haven't tried). 

 

Solas as the Hermit. Thank you Solas for that link.  I admit I have never gotten into tarot cards and my exposure to them is purely based on their appearance in books that I read (Ru Emerson's "The Princess of Flames" comes to mind).  Anyway, the analysis was fascinating and I enjoyed reading it.  Hmm, that might even make a topic for a weekly art/fanfic challenge....

This is adorable. And it even has The Sex Hat in it (I can only imagine Cole's confusion about its libidinous powers). Perfection!

 

I'm so confused about who I'm going to roll with now. I may go with a Knight Enchanter my first time out after all, mainly because playing a stabby rogue is going to deny me the Solas/Cole interactions, and I'm way more apt to head out with two mages than two of anything else. *sigh* I'm going to have so many playthroughs.
