Speaking of the older man thing...how old did everyone envision their Lavellan's?

I see mine as in her late 20's.  The age difference didn't really dawn on me until recently tho...

In regards to age, I consider my Lavellan to be around 33, perhaps right around the same age my Warden would be now. With her immediate family passing during the Blight or shortly thereafter, she's been rather solitary in the following years. Definitely awkward, and perhaps even a touch too wild/wary even for her fellow Dalish. Enough similarities to form a connection with a certain apostate hobo. So, she'd be devastated by the turn of events but unwilling to share that fact with anyone. I imagine she disappeared into the woods for an afternoon to have a good cry or use a blade to vent her anger on an unsuspecting tree. But then she'd return to Skyhold, with a needle sharp focus on cleaning up any remaining rifts.

His actual facial features look pretty young, but his eyes always look so sad.  IMO that's what makes him look older than late 20s-30s.  He always looks melancholy or grim, unless someone manages to coax a smile out of him.

When he smiles...

I've noticed that too. And he seems to smile a whole lot more during his romance.

Lurker here, de-anoning.. .sort of. Was gonna (and probably still will) let out my sorrows with fanfic, but decided to take a break from my boss to do some fanart. I can't get Solas to... well look like Solas so not sure if I'll clean this up and finish it or move on to my next attempt. Called "Endure" - He was not the only one afraid of dying alone, and so he had to endure. (I'm lame, mkay) I know his dready-ponytail-hawk probably wasn't kept at the same time he was in his fancy elven robes, but they're my favorites so I'm mashing them together anyways. :P

It's so nice when he just smiles at you! It's such a contrast from when he's in his haughty mode (which you see a lot of during Cole's personal quest when he argues with Varric). He always has his chin raised and he looks really tall and serious during those scenes. And then you compare that to that goofy smile when you first meet him and it's pretty adorable. I now imagine that Solas's full smiles are always lopsided, cute things.

After writing that I've gotta say, I ship them too.   Their in-game banter just crackles with tension.

Inquisitor: Maker's breath, if you two keep it up people will talk.

Varric: I can see it now, Iron Longjohns, the sordid tale of an Enchanter and her elven apostate lover.

Inquisitor: Ah yes, a love that dare not speak its name.

I get the feeling that when he's with Lavellan, even if it's only temporary, he can let himself forget all the terrible consequences of what he's done.  Corypheus, the orb, Mythal, the elven gods...it all weighs on him, and she lightens that burden if only for a little while.

I went back and replayed a bunch of his major scenes; he definitely drops his guard more and more as you progress, showing more of the Dread Wolf and less of the unassuming hobo apostate veneer.  He's kind of dorky when you first meet him, and pretty reserved, but he starts acting more arrogant or even dangerous as the game goes on.  For me the turning point was Halamshiral; he practically smolders there.  I don't think I realized the difference in tone between early Solas and endgame Solas until I saw the scenes side by side.

I can see how you'd see it progress that way. Thinking about it now,  Solas is full on done messing around by the time you're on the mission to get to the Well of Sorrows. He's in complete serious mode during that entire quest and he's just not having it with Morrigan.

Though, to be fair, he never quite succeeded at the unassuming hobo apostate thing. It's clear there's an edge to him from his first conversation back in Haven. Which is funny after he introduced himself to you rather cheerfully. Though only after he grabbed your hand, gave you an unpleasant look and then shoved it into a rift.

You know what, Solas really is bad at playing unassuming hobo. When Cari finds out what he is, she's going to have a moment where she wonders why she's not as shocked as she probably should be. "Well, this makes things make a lot more sense...."

People have been wondering about extra scenes for Solas' romance right?  I found this cute and fluffy prompt.

Hi guys,

So I started playing DA3 flirting with both Solas and Cullen. I kissed Solas in the fade. And then there was nothing more from him. Cullen on the other hand, got all ''sneaking off for kisses'' with me. I remember in Origins, at some point Alistair asked me to choose between him and Zevran. I'm wondering if that's going to happen or if I want to continue a romance with Solas, do I need to break up with Cullen. I've already done the Solas quest in the Exalted Plains, where I free the spirit without killing it. After we spoke and he said he admired and respected me, but there were no flirt options. However, I see the Heart (flirt or friend) option with all other characters, even those you can't romance. So what do I need to do so that moving forward I can pursue further my romance with Solas? Thanks.

There is no choice, once you are locked into one there isn't any other content from the others unless you break it off with your current lover - and even then if you don't do it soon enough it still locks in.

If you've gotten Cullen's romance to the point where you can sneak off to kiss, then you've already initiated Cullen's primary romance arc (beyond the flirting).  At this point, Solas's romance will no longer trigger.  You can only initiate Solas's romance through his dialogue after the Exalted Plains quest.  If you want to romance Solas this playthrough, you'll have to go to a save before his personal quest where you haven't yet started Cullen's romance.

So I just finished the last mission, I romanced Solas, this playthrough and did practically every side quest, and always vied for his favour.

He doesn't appear to have the scary "Tower" card when i'm in the party selection screen, just the leaf patting one with the white wolf, with an X through it obviously, but i was expecting it to change to the one with the big wolf shadow one.

Any thoughts as to why it didn't do this?

Hiya, hopping in from the Cullen thread after replaying with a Solas romance. I have a question, the mural at the bottom of the library--is it complete by the time you go into the final boss fight? Or does Solas secretly come back to finish the last section?

--

@Brass_Buckles, I like your thoughts. It's a nicely-knit theory. Can we add that, being the "God" of rebellion", being as reason why he was so against gods? He's clearly appalled by them. And since I'm using your theory to cling to, can you somehow work your magical mind to find that Solas wasn't taken over by all of Flemeth's forms, and he instead takes over? It's a nice comforting thought...

Oh lol doh... Then I guess I'm screwed because I have over 70 hours of gameplay in so far and the Cullen romance locked in pretty early. I suppose I could always try to break up with him before doing Solas's quest in the Exalted plains and see what happens with the dialogue options. If nothing happens, then I go back to my latest save and continue with Cullen and if it works, then it works lol I can try it out I suppose.

Possibly because he's stronger than she is by that point?  Remember that she has fragmented her soul in order to remain alive by possessing multiple hosts to become "Flemeth."  But I can't say about Urthemiel, though... he's optional, so most likely won't have as big an impact as Flemeth might.

Having said that, Solas is probably the dominant personality but WILL be influenced by the presence of the other god soul(s).  And it also means Flemeth isn't truly dead; she likely has another copy or two out there.

I also think that Solas is the original Fen'Harel; Mythal can't be the original because she was murdered.

I'm thinking we're going to see the very obvious result of the events in-game when some DLC is released:  Solas ends up realizing he needs the Inquisitor to use as a key to open the way to free the Old Gods.  If you drank from the Well, he may be able to force you to do so--despite his hatred of slavery, you did make your choice and he did tell you not to.

Part of me wonders if he knew what he was going to do, already, regarding Mythal, and that's why he was so angry.  If he took Mythal's soul, the Inquisitor would then be bound to him.  HIS slave.  It's even worse when you're betraying your own ideals, and especially if you're doing so against someone you deeply care about.

It may also be that Solas becomes our enemy, needing to steal the Inquisitor's power back in order to achieve his end goals.

Am I the only one who'd enjoy seeing an option in DLC to have Solas's child (even if for potentially nefarious reasons)?  As long as it's not forced on Female Elf Inquisitor... I'd love to see it.  I might even choose that option every time I played a female elf.

More than that, I hope that some future DLC will add Solas back into the party as a permanent addition.  Failing that, modders please help us!!!!

IT WORKED! lol hehe So I went back to my save RIGHT before the Solas mission in the Exalted Plains, I went to Skyhold, broke up with Cullen (so sad to do it, but will romance him as a human in another playthrough) went back to save the spirit without killing it. Then back at Skyhold, there was a flirt option for Solas. Then when we talk in private up in my chambers, he tells me that he ''never forgot the kiss'' and we kiss again. Although I have to deal with Cullen not wanting to speak with me, I hate breakups, even in game ones lol I get my Solas romance. Didn't want to have to reroll another Elf. I want to do it, Elf, Qunari, Human. At least 3 plays of the game. So as far as romance goes, since Solas is only elves, it has to be him this time, then it will be Iron Bull and Cullen.

Btw, if you DON'T romance Bull NOR Dorian, and have them often in your party, Bull ends up flirting Dorian about ''conquering'' him, next thing, he's mentioning the sparkly panties Dorian left behind. Hehehe You can talk to both ''So Bull, you and Dorian'' and ''So Dorian, you and Bull'' and then Varric gets involved, where Bull tells him to write them in his books but to use passion instead of love, because love doesn't rip the sheets up with your claws or set the drapes on fire. Arrr, sounds hot LOL
