Am I the only one who'd enjoy seeing an option in DLC to have Solas's child (even if for potentially nefarious reasons)?  As long as it's not forced on Female Elf Inquisitor... I'd love to see it.  I might even choose that option every time I played a female elf.

I'd go for it if that were a choice (and maybe throw in a nice love making scene  ???).  Yeah, I think that could be an interesting addition to their romance arc.

I...I'm confused. I just netted a ton of disapproval from Solas from asking the templars to be our allies? I thought he was supposed to approve.

I think he only approves if you disband them.

IT WORKED! lol hehe So I went back to my save RIGHT before the Solas mission in the Exalted Plains, I went to Skyhold, broke up with Cullen (so sad to do it, but will romance him as a human in another playthrough) went back to save the spirit without killing it. Then back at Skyhold, there was a flirt option for Solas. Then when we talk in private up in my chambers, he tells me that he ''never forgot the kiss'' and we kiss again. Although I have to deal with Cullen not wanting to speak with me, I hate breakups, even in game ones lol I get my Solas romance. Didn't want to have to reroll another Elf. I want to do it, Elf, Qunari, Human. At least 3 plays of the game. So as far as romance goes, since Solas is only elves, it has to be him this time, then it will be Iron Bull and Cullen.

Yay pajama elf!

Though Cullen is certainly extremely awesome too.  My best friend romanced him, and she and I are going to trade savegames so we can see the romance content without adding yet another replay of the game to our lists.

Lots of sad songs on the Solavellen playlist. I think this song works (from Solas's perspective, while they're still together), and it's more upbeat...

Yeah, somehow it's still kinda depressing (lol).

To expand on this

Spoiler

I just don't like that it makes it sound like their is a bigger distinction between the Elves. Yes in story wise it is already confirmed that Elves have been altered due to their association with humans, but if what you mention is true, it actually makes the present day Elves like the Dalish Elves, more like Half Elves, and that hurts even more, especially when you consider the Shem'len line. Elves shouldn't be segregating themselves like that.

I always only do one romance per playthrough i don't much like the idea of breaking up with one character just to romance someone else, i like to think my characters are committed to their relationships, though I also decided to give up on Cassandra in one play through as i didn't know you had to advance the story to a certain point before her romance mission opened up.

The way he says it though makes me wonder if there's truly something there beyond what we're seeing. If I was in Abelas' place, or even amongst the survivors he commands, I wouldn't feel so strongly against the direct descendants of my people. Not without a VERY good reason. One that I don't think is quite provided with the potential explanation that some of the Dalish that stumbled upon the Temple might not have had it's best interests or their best interests at heart. Something is missing and it's bugging me. D:

Spoiler

Regarding pregnancy, my take on it is that;

Spoiler

If Solas had a hypothetical baby with the Elfquisitor, my suspicion is that it'd be Elven, but it'd probably end up being a mage with a lot of tricks up their sleeves. Heck, any kind of Inquisitor and LI would probably end up with such an offspring, due to the Anchor and if you drank at the Well of Sorrows?

I think what stings the most is that a Solasmancing femLavellan Inquisitor is the only one to be left alone, as far as I know it's possible to keep all other LI's through choices, I know it's very plot relevant and there's no choice, but it still hurts.

Edit:  Wtf?  I totally meant to post this in a different thread...

You're completely right, it probably seems to Solas and Abelas that the Dalish are nothing more than a bunch of kids walking around in their mum's lipstick and dad's shoes (or vice versa, no judgements here), who are content to ignore their brethren in the cities living subservient to humans and instead remain homeless in the woods, playing pass the whisper with their history and all the while pretending that their ignorant aping of half-forgotten customs somehow makes them the "real" Elves.

Spoiler

And that's what hurts the most.

Also consider this, throughout my playthrough despite being Lavellan, Solas continuously comments, that he can feel the presence of an artifact of "His" people, i don't think that was just programming oversight on the writers part, that sounds way to intentional. He's not talking about the modern day Elves, though i didn't recognize that until right around the end.

Also think about one of his conversations with Sera. He mentions at the end of a party banter that Sera is far from what she was meant to be. What a ominous thing to say when you think about it now. If you didn't know about the different perspective the ancient elves have towards modern elves, you wouldn't think much of it, but now that we know the implications is that Solas really does see these elves as derelicts, but he reaches out to Sera so many times even humoring her on a few occasions. It's so sad.

I didn't pick the option where you can tell Abelas he could help the Elves or whatever because at that time I just got a sickening feeling that it would get a negative response from him or at the least a disrespectful reply to Lavellan herself, i didn't want to get burned twice.

Lavellan as the First ot her clan in my playthrough is almost certainly obligated to go to her fellow Dalish and inform them of this revelation. As much as it might hurt, the Dalish need to change and this is one of those things that would definitely set them straight and hopefully unite and strengthen them and help them create a new future for themselves. Strangely, Sera isn't so wrong with her views now, no matter how much I identify with the Dalish and their ideals/goals/hopes. Sera sees the Elves being Elves as something that is a relic, a piece of history that is no longer deserving of being venerated, she sees herself as just people, no more and no less than any other person. It might be the Dalish need to be brought down a peg to see this same level of logic. Im not advocating they mix completely with human society but there is no longer a defined purpose to hold themselves up to such lofty interpretations of a distant past that no longer wants them.

Thanks for bringing it up. I hadn't thoroughly thought about the issue before now.

Also, sorry for editing the post so much. I kept thinking of new things to add. :P

This. This. This.

This makes me so sad! Because it's true: Neither Abelas nor Solas actually want the Dalish (or City Elves) as their people. They don't care. Solas is actually totally troubled after he notices that Lavellan is more than what she seems - and that other elves could be just like her. It's that one little diamond in a sea of sand for him, makes her unique and gives her a very powerful spirit. But that's not exactly what Lavellan wants, because, well, even if you play as a Lavellan that admits the Dalish didn't make her that way she would still try to save the elves, her people, in general. (Or maybe she says "**** you!" and follows Solas' beliefs...but would the Inquisitor really do that?)

I can actually see some kind of very heartwrenching option in the future, where Solas gives her the option to 'become' one of his people because of her rare spirit and thus go against all the other elves that exist in modern Thedas, or stay at the side of her people but go against him in the process.
