I haven't read the books either.  I am going to rectify that shortly.  But Cole tells you about the mage thing in the game.  If you ask about his past.  He didn't know.  He was trying to help.

Also, so sad to be out of likes now. That Solas comic, oh my goodness. But... *headcanon hat on* he would totally do a sleep spell (with Levellan's consent) so he could go on fade walks with her.

Completely off-topic, but was anyone else just waiting for Sera to call Corypheus "Corypenis"?  I mean the joke was right there and it's crude just like her.  I was almost upset she didn't say it. 

 

Every conversation I'm like, "Oh, she gonna say it this time!"

I'd like to introduce everyone to the newest Lavellan to fall to Solas's charms - Meabh Lavellan!

I tried to give her the same profile as the tarot artwork (which also coincides with how elves look in DA2). I don't think I got it quite right, so I might remake her before really starting her playthrough.

I just had to make an account and post here. Out of all Bioware romances , Solas has brought way too many feels. I haven't finished my first playthrough yet..but I already know whats ahead and trying to steel myself. I know I'll end up  getting emotional anyways.

At first when I was picking who to romance I thought Cullen would be the one bringing up drama if you are a mage and its gonna be tragic, Blackwall too beardy for me, I finally settled on Solas   thinking he would be a safer option. Plus I like intelligent older guys irl. Boy, I was so wrong. 

 

My sister is having a hell of a time making fun of me saying all my romance picks are tragic or sappy (chose Anders in DA2 and couldnt bring myself to kill stab him)

Thinking to start a Cullen playthrough after I am done but I know it wont be the same as long as Solas is there   It would be heartbreaking to see him as an antagonist in the future but I feel that is inevitable.

Don't know if this has been pointed out before it probably has but I noticed this nice little design continuity. Props to the Bioware artists.

So Solas means pride, yeah? And I noticed (well, how could you not?) that pride demons have multiple eyes.

And so does Solas' wolf in The Tower card.

Thus you solved another mystery. Reading the notes in Haven about the Inquisitor, the muttering  about 'too many eyes' in her delirious state. Solas said, he was watching. Maybe she saw his true nature afterall...

At first I actually thought he DID that (without consent) in the first cutscene when you're Fade-walking with him. He's like, "Let's go somewhere more interesting than this," then he zaps you to sleep and carries you to bed. I thought that was creepy and weird so I figured that the whole conversation was supposed to be a dream. Sure, I just did a war table mission and talked to people, but somehow between then and getting to Solas' room I went to bed, started dreaming, then intruded on Solas' Fade space!

Since crafting seems to be the preferred way of getting better gear, all arms and armor made for Sera was named after some form of double entendre or crude joke.

Solas' staff on the other hand is named Heartbreaker. It does spirit damage and is enchanted with a Master Corruption Rune so it does bonus damage against the living. Armor-wise, he wears Dreamcrusher Mail, which offers 10% spirit damage resistance and 7% melee defense.

I think he only says that in the non-romance version of the conversation.  Which I never got because I can't resist DAT FADE TONGUE.

Maybe he did at some point but I don't remember. I think he said it in the Fade to my human who's not romancing him, but kissing him with my Lavellan caused him not to say it there.
