I would totally accept that as the alternative. I just like the idea of Solas having to give up something to be with Lavellan.

So, to whomever is collecting sad Lavellan screen shots, is it okay if I take a picture of the sad face instead of a screenshot. I'm Xbox 360ing the game.

There was a point where I asked my laptop if he would be willing to allow a game to run on him. He laughed maniacally then burst into flame.
(I'm lucky that I can open up a browser on the piece of fecal matter).

For now I just listen and watch PC users with envy.

Hmm, if their relationship doesn't work out, I'd like to believe that Solas remains her "guardian" and looks out for her from afar.  Even if Lavellan eventually moves on in her life (though never forgets him) and perhaps marries another man and starts a family... he'll still remember her and protect her from a distance.  The inevitable death of Lavellan makes me sad for him in this scenario, though 

 

I think they're soul mates- something that probably has a lot of meaning in Thedas- since he's so attracted to her spirit.  Their love will never die. *is a romantic*

Also I've seen these paintings in many areas in the game. First one is clearly hunting, others are more complicated, but still - nothing to do with Solas, sadly ><

About the Well/slavery thing, I wasn't wanting my Lavellan to be his slave. He hates slavery and even if Lavellan could be compelled by him he wouldn't do it. I was thinking more of the shared ideas/consciousness that the Well granted. Who better for him to have that connection with than the one who was already connected to him in heart and body, someone who he already trusted as much as he can trust anyone? It could be similar to Cole's ability to reach Solas' mind across distances (even though Solas wanted to break that).

As an aside, I must make an off topic comment.

Jumping.

I have a love/hate relationship with jumping, in this game. Jumping is the new Mako (which btw, I loved the Mako, even if I got myself into tons of trouble )!

Cons: I can't jump HIGH enough! At first I thought it was because my PC was a tiny elf-woman. So for testing, I grabbed IB and made him try and parkour his way up a rocky slope. Also tried to have him jump to some loot (instead of taking the long route). Negativo! He was no better. Tried with Solas and Dorian as well. Same results (not that I really expected it to be different. Nup. )

Pros: Jumping on Solas' furniture (and occasionally his head ). I especially like this, when he makes my Lavellan grumpy. Or he doesn't have anything new to say. LOL! I really do have a couple of snot-nosed elves, apparently.

OH! And I finally got my mage hoods!! One nice and subtle (WITH good stats) for Solas, and one garishly colored for Freya. It sort of matches her technicolored "Dreamcoat". DAMMIT! Why didn't I name it that. (instead I named it Liberace )

Thanks. Now I just have to go and get to that scene again. (I remade my Lavellan again so I could save before all the Solas romance scenes and flirts. What can I say? I'm obsessed!)

yeah, having played Guild Wars 2 the jumping in this game annoyed me. It seems like it's more sensitive and harder to control. There are also places where it looks like you can easily jump to but you can't. Well, I'm glad they have it at all I guess.

Anyone else realize that in real time, it would take Solas and Lavellan a couple days to travel to Crestwood? 

 

So, Solas basically was like, "come with me, my love!"

 

Then went on a hike for a couple days. Then dumped her, and walked back home by himself. So sad Lavellan had a couple-days-long walk-of-shame back to Skyhold. 

 

That's cold, Solas. So cold.

Lol, I got all the vistas so I love jumping in GW2.

Heh, I purposefully gave my new Lavellan dark and face-covering vallaslin so there will be more of a striking difference once it's removed  .  My first playthrough just had the one that covered the eye.
