Haha. I did that, though I missed the banter. I walked around for hours, but when I stepped away for a moment it apparently happened because I was able to ask them about their relations. I'm glad some people in the Inquisition are happy, at least. Even if misery does enjoy company. Varric seemed pretty miserable after his quest. Maybe Lavellan can go be miserable with him. Play some cards and drink.

My own Solas/Lavellan smut is a little more fluffy, though he is still the dominant one in the relationship.

Because that isn't how he rolls. He hates it when the Inquisitor just bullies people into doing what they want. It'd make him a hypocrite if he turned around and did the exact same thing to them just because he doesn't like them very much. He may very badly want to release the elven gods, but he isn't at the point where he'd compromise his principles to do it.

 

Which is why I can't see him as a villain unless there's some major character changes there.

 

I know and he very much against slavery and bullying.  But he has made some questionable decisions in the past and it is possible and even likely that he had a hand in imprisoning the gods.  Would that not make him a hypocrite?

 

Correct me if I am wrong, but he does not approve if you jail Dorian's old magister guy and only approves if you use him as a researcher.  That is hypocrisy.

I don't know about that. Lavellan's early flirting is able to get him a bit flustered. And then there's how off-balance he was after the first kiss scene ("It's...been a long time"). And him freaking out when Blackwall teases him about potentially banging spirits. I think he's usually very in control of himself, but when it comes to matters of the heart he's a bit more shaky. He strikes me as being very repressed.

 

So honestly, I can totally see it going both ways. I don't think anybody's written it yet, but I'd love to see a fic where Solas, erm, tops from the bottom, so to speak. Subtle rather than overt dominance. Because Solas is a subtle guy.

 

Also, none of the romance scenes were cut. There was a tumblr blog post about D Gaider saying how valuable female insight on the team is because one of the writers wrote something that came across as rape-y when they didn't intend it to be and another member of the team pointed it out to them.

 

I'll add to this and say: I really think he's the sort who tops from the bottom. *cough* Most of my writings will likely feature this... Once I manage to get them all off paper and into the computer.

I don't think that's incongruous at all. In fact, it's very clear that he's been shaped by past actions. Whenever he talks about his younger self he does so with distaste. The reason why he's so vehemently against the Inquisitor strong-arming people is likely both because of the actions of the gods of the past and his own actions, which he now feels guilty for.

Well he doesn't disapprove. He approves of you allowing the magister to do research for you because he values knowledge and doesn't truck with the idea that knowledge is inherently dangerous, even magister-derived knowledge.

I too think he'd be willing to take a little... direction. He does seem awfully pleased when Lavellan offers "suggestions" (right before the vallaslin thing ), says he'll "bear that in mind"... and he seemed happy that she came outta nowhere and planted one on him in the Fade, LOL. He strikes me as a man who's very secure in his masculinity, while also being really vulnerable and feeling unworthy and all that jazz.

Actually, I could see it going like this Kenshin x Kaoru fic, if there are any RK fans in here. (Warning: haaawwwt.)

I knew that they screwed it up: in my localazation it is said that Cory didn't get Orb accidentially.   Like they litterally stated that it was given and Cory is running and gunning all round with his evil "Muahahahaha, it is mineeeee! Mine precious!"

There are certain things I can never even watch in a YouTube video.  Most of them relate to my LI.  For example, I could never watch Garrus's breakup scenes.

I honestly liked the Templar route better than the mage. I kind of ignored Envy, it was attempting to unnerve and bother you, make you falter so it could become you. Maybe that's why I had an easier time of it, figuring that Envy was just full of it.

 

I found the Templar route more enchanting and fun. Cole was simply wonderful.

 

But, I imagine without Cole? That would be a rather traumatizing event. I can certainly see how Cullen broke down. Poor dear.

Garrus breakups are just too much.  My poor little alien batman.  No one's going to hurt you or Shepard will murder them all. 

 

BTW I do love Solas.  I was just trying to bring a bit of questioning to his actions.  I'm trying parse his personality.  Not the smooth talker one that he shows, but the true one.  If there wasn't a sign on the left of the screen telling me 'Solas disapproves' half of the time I would have no idea that he did. 

 

I would love a full list of what he approves and disapproves of.  Even the little things, just to grasp his motivations.  He's so complex and intelligent that I have this awful knee-jerk reaction that he is playing the longest game on us.  Of course try telling that to my Lavellan.  She's smitten.

I think I like a mix of both fluffy with a lil hint of WE ARE TOTALLY DOING IT RIGHT NOW. I don't like things to be too Possessive, but Dommy is ok. I wouldn't see Solas as a jealous person or wanting to own someone like that. Fenris on the other hand........

 

Solas is the first romance that has inspired me to write fanfic. I feel so ridiculous right now ! 

 

So, I have two questions. I may or may not have written down the save times in my canon playthrough to go visit the Solas Scenes whenever I want (heeeeee I have a problem) At first I didn't think in my brain that Solas and QuizzLev did more than hold hands and kiss, BUT, there is an option to say to him that he is flattering you just to get you into bed, and he says something like, "Well, everything I am saying is true, the bed part is just a great side effect" or something, and I was like Oh really?!?!? Does that mean that they are more intimate than we think? Cuz I am not sure if I want it to be that way or not!!! I mean, I do, but... Okay yes I do !

 

My other question is: Does anyone talk about your relationship with Solas banterwise? I think I might have a slight banterbug at some points, and no one has said much to my character about the relationship. People DID talk after the scene after the temple of Mythal...

For your first question: Weekes said he wanted it to be up to the player to decide whether or not they got intimate or not. I think that should be listed on the OP, if not: it's somewhere on his twitter about the snick snack frick frack.

 

Second: You can ask Vivienne, I know for sure. Sera has a party banter for it as well. I don't know anyone else the top of my head. I think the OP has it listed as well?

 

As for fanfic links: this is what I have written so far. More to come, just focusing on another play through at the moment. There's a fluffy non-smut work as well that I've written as a prompt that was posted here.

Sera mentions it if you ask her about Solas.  The bartender mentions it vaguely.  And ... that's it.  I can't think of anyone else. 

 

Wait there is a banter in the field between Sera and Solas. 

 

After Mythal there is another Cole and Solas one too.

 

Oh no ... I just made myself sad.
