That is the greatest thing ever.
Spoiler
I don't think I would finish the game if we were forced to ---- Solas.
Solas casts barrier on me all the time. Beginning of every battle? Barrier on the Inquisitor. As soon as that barrier runs out? Barrier on the Inquisitor. And I'm a mage! Not even a Knight Enchanter. My poor rogues and warriors are always neglected.
I've noticed in my game that if I beat him to putting barrier on the melee classes (Cole is always priority for everyone, amusingly enough), he'll put it on the Inquisitor even if he's being attacked.
Edit: The Cole thing is doubly amusing because the first time I had him in a fight he got hurt and both the Inquisitor and Solas got stuck on the "Cole is hurt" response. Every fight, for the entire length of the fight it was, "Hold on, Cole!" and "Cole needs us!" regardless of Cole's actual condition until I reloaded.

Heh, I'm playing a new Lavellan playthrough and they aren't even in a romance yet, and she gets barrier priority ![]()
At this point, he calls her Lethallan... I still prefer Vhenan, but I like the little reminder to Tamlen ![]()
Yeah the battlemage mail ,been looking for it forever hahaThe battlemage mail? I had to get the rare stock perk first, then it shows up in the armor section of that shop that sells a
lot of armor schematics in VR.... I forget
the name of the merchant there; it's ground floor, past the cafe, next to the shop that sells unread codexes.
If you mean the High Keeper robes, the Dalish clan in the Exalted Plains sells
it, but you need to have gained
Dalish favor for the shop to be available.
Gotta say, I really really don't want him to be a villain. If he has some sort of plan that'll cause mass-genocide or something (which I can't even see Solas doing at all), then I can't see my Inquisitor letting it stand, no matter how much she loves him. She wants to move the world forward, make the Inquisition a force for change, which is something that Solas himself inspired in her.
Also, the idea of leaving everything behind in order to be with him after he fucks everything up reminds me waaaaay too much of Anders. Never again.
I might be the only person who actually liked using the deluxe Dragon Armor schematic for quizzy. The female elf is so delicate looking. I like the idea that she put on this spiky, imposing armor to give herself a little confidence boost initially, then just kept it because it was comfy
My Lavellan wore that for the beginning of the game, she only switched out to a different armor right before going to Skyhold. I like it, but I'll probably use it more for later playthroughs. I wanted something more Dalish. ![]()
Little elf in big armor was a look I always liked for my Warden though. ![]()
I just finished the game, and it's SO SAD that the final piece of the mural is unfinished! Solas just finished sketching it out
This. Gutted me.
OKAY... after that Iron Bull video (lol that sassy comment from Solas)... I'm so torn on who to play next.
Should I continue my Cullen romance Lavellan? Or my Dorian romance Adaar?
Should I start my Iron Bull romance or my Cassandra romance?
OR should I play my second Solavellan playthrough?
I CAN'T DECIDE. It's so difficult. *flails around*

I think he's going to turn everyone into mages and a lot of people couldn't handle it and decided to go tranquil or turn into abominations. Oh gosh, worse plan ever.

I just can't see it. He's not stupid. He knows that a plan like that would have horrible consequences. :/

Ahh, I know how you feel! I think I will do a male human with Dorian, cause Dorian is a sweetheart who deserves some love- and it will keep me from being tempted by Solas haha.
As much as I like Solas, we have to remember
Spoiler
Haha I think his entire story, as far as we know it, has basically been him making massive mistakes. Poor Solas ![]()

Haha, I don't think anyone has forgotten! Don't worry.
Btw, I'm surprised no one has suggested "Revolution" by the Beatles for the Solas soundtrack. I'm hearing it during my lunch break, and it's like: "...HOLY CRAP." XD
Yup, seems to be the case haha. Poor dudeHaha I think his entire story, as far as we know it, as basically been him making massive mistakes. Poor Solas

I just realised: this puts his admonishment "action is not always better than inaction" in a whole new light.
I will forever be bringing up Solas saying things like "sometimes regrettable actions" are necessary and "even if the cost is high." I don't think horrible consequences are going to stop him. Mortarion is also right about Solas not being very good at decision making. Twice (that we know of) he's made world changing decisions and they were bad decisions.
Despite all the consequences being told etc..plus extra dialogue from arcane perk stating its bad i.e a gaes. I feel the game almost wants you to drink it. I wonder if it also confers immortality other than knowledge
Ahh, I know how you feel! I think I will do a male human with Dorian, cause Dorian is a sweetheart who deserves some love- and it will keep me from being tempted by Solas haha.
Yes... If you're gonna romance Dorian, go with a human or elf Inquisitor. Maybe even dwarf. Because if you go with a qunari... the cutscenes are more hilarious than touching. FOR EXAMPLE (very minor spoilers for his romance):
Oh, Bioware. At least with Solas's romance they had a set character model to use for animating the cutscenes. lol
It does feel like the game almost wants you to drink it. Or maybe it just feels that way if you are playing an elf or mage? I ended up drinking it because it felt more dramatic story wise. I like how Solas flips out about it.
I don't know if that'll end up being my cannon choice, though. Either way I have a feeling it won't make that much of a difference in future dlc/games, assuming we even get to play the inquisitor again or have him/her as a cameo. Maybe it'll be like Sephard with the Prothean knowledge....the inquisitor will be able to translate some ancient elven language or understand some artifact we come across.
I was a human mage with the Arcane Knowledge perk, and it seemed to me like the game was urging me not to drink it. All that talk of a geas, sinister foreboding abounded! Plus, I took Solas with me, and he was adamant that someone should drink it, but that it was a bad idea overall for me to do so.
It's funny how the Well decision changes with the PC. My Lavellan mage drank, because she was so @$!@$ tired of everyone knowing more about ancient elven magic than she does, did not think that power should go to a non-elf under any circumstances and on a subliminal level suspected that Solas was more than he appeared and she wanted to be more his equal, in terms of power.
My Trevelyan mage was tempted, but terrified that paying the price would mean losing Cullen. And that was unacceptable to her. She had some real doubts about how much she was letting their relationship affect decisions she had to make for the good of the Inquisition after that, in my headcanon, but made peace with it.
I had to make another Trevelyan to romance Cullen after the Solas heartbreak. Just to remind myself that sometimes things work out
My elf is still storming around Skyhold, banging doors open with magic just because and sobbing on Dorian's shoulder while chugging whiskey. She was very tempted to rebound with Cullen until she realized she would sound too much like Solas... 'it's not a good idea. I can't give you what you want.' And that just pissed her off even more.
If there's one thing that AD&D has taught me it's that Geas = Baaaad.
It's funny. I have seen a lot of Lavellans who cry on either Dorian's or Cass's shoulder after the deed (the break up kind of deed, not the good kind of deed) is done.
Also
Abelas feels.
Haha I think his entire story, as far as we know it, has basically been him making massive mistakes. Poor Solas
Solas doesn't know how to make little mistakes. Like, he doesn't just stub his toe, he stubs it on the edge of the produce display and sends all the food to the ground. He doesn't just get tongue-tied, he does it and insults the leader of a foreign nation, inadvertently causing WWIII.
