Solas and Abelas are taller than the other elves in the game, and have different posture from the other elven NPCs.  Not sure about male Lavellan though.

 

I asked this probably a hundred pages ago by now - my assumption is that the ancient elves were taller.

Woo, got me the Solas shirt. Just as a note for anyone considering- the two shirts for 25 deal applies to this. Got Solas and a Morrigan shirt. And strongly considering getting a Cassandra and Blackwall shirt for my brother. 

 

I can confirm this! I picked up the Solas shirt for myself and the Blackwall shirt for my younger sister because she romanced Blackwall.

Lol. I figured it was more about the Dalish were the slave race of the Ancient Elvan community.  Subpar stalk. Explain why they're leaner and shorter.

No one noticed my thread ( ) so I'll ask here... is it just me or is male Lavellan a looooot scrawnier than Solas? Is this just a weird mistake on the part of the devs or do all male elf NPCs look like that?

 

Yeah, female Lavellan also looks a lot scrawnier than Sera.

Just curious, how many of y'all headcanon Solas as dominant? I don't really, especially considering how forward Levellan is in their flirts. I think he would be passionate, yes, but not necessarily dominate. I'm biased...

 

I imagine Solas as always confident whatever you do but not necessarily always dominant.

 

And yeah, Solas is a lot bigger than the male elf Inquisitor. His body is rather nice with those broad shoulders and his slim waist.

Ancient elves being taller and stronger looking might make some sense when you think about how long elves have been slaves. Even the Dalish were slaves for a while under the Tevintar empire. Its possible that any strong elves might have met unfortunate ends.

He just does that no matter what decision you make, call it game weirdness. I guess he could be talking about Morrigan saying she'll use it in your service, if you wanted a reason that almost makes sense.

This is how I took it. He thought that Morrigan would be in my service (HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA) My Lavellan didn't want it.

I guess that makes sense. I think it just bothers me because it's like, "The elf LI can't be an average skinny elf, he gotta be a MANLYYY skinny elf!"

Male Lavellan looks like a nine-year-old boy in comparison to Solas and Abelas.  There really needs to be a mod to switch bodies for them before I even touch a male elf playthrough.

Yeah, the Man-boobs is a bit disturbing on the male elf.  I remember the first video I saw, I got all confused on if I was watching a male or female. I felt dirty.

Well, I certainly see Solas as an alpha. First scene with him and he's all "just do this already"

Most of the Elves in Inquisition just look horribly narrow--not just small, but NARROW. I tend to ignore this as much as possible, but it's so hard to when you don't have armor on. >.<

@vertigomez - Haha, to be honest, I'd have a harder time romancing Solas if he was as narrow as most of the elves in Inquisition. As much as I appreciate his mind and his way of looking at everything, and the way he talks, that narrowness would definitely be put into question (I guess you can call me narrow-minded-badum tss!). Besides, I think it adds to his stately persona.

Whahuh?  The only ancient elves left are guardians and Solas, as far as we know.  City elves are just as much from slave stock as the Dalish.  The only difference is the vallaslin.

Sera can't be a half elf and still be an elf, unfortunately. She'd just be a human. Human blood erases all other blood. 

 

[Edit: Although there's still a social stigma if your mother or father is an elf.]

Elf/human pairings result in human looking offspring, so if Sera had humans in her past she wouldn't look like an elf.
