A little something about vallaslin...

All vallaslin correspond to a Creator.  But there is no Fen'Harel vallaslin.  Was he the only one of the Creators who didn't keep slaves? Might make sense with what his real story is beginning to look like. 
 
It's funny, I remember once wondering if they might actually be slave marks, almost similar to the markings the Dwarves' casteless have.  But there was an image in the Brecilian Temple of what was assumed to be a priest with similar markings, so I dismissed the idea.  But now that we've seen the Sentinels, and know about the "price", it all comes together...

Oh, yeah! That is a really interesting theory!

So that may be why he is such a dick to Dorian (I mean he has good reasons BUT STILL DORIAN IS SO NICE TO HIM) and is constantly bringing up the elven slavery.

Wow, that is super different. Same pose and design, but looks like it got redrawn for the game version. [Or maybe that is the final version? Hard to say...]

I think the art style is too different from the other ones to be the final version -- those almost look like watercolor to me, and the shapes are far too soft to fit in with all the other cards.

The first time it happened I was unusually calm as I had expected it. After a while it was like being stabbed by a dagger in the chest especially after watching my poor lavellan come closer to him and him backing away like she has the plague.

It brings too many feels and reminds me of an ex who pulled a similar stunt with me I hate you Bioware >.<

On comparing the two- almost seems like a different artist took over for it. The ingame one is definitely the same artist who did Solas's hierophant card. Or at least, I would bet money on. 

 

Tarot deck print looks like they might have been digital paintings, perhaps by the person who did the portrait art of Cole? Almost looks a similar style in the face. Sometimes when you have a lot of work, artists will pass things off to others for any number of reasons.

I just noticed from the video that Solas has so much sass just lighting a fire. The animations are so well done.

Top two look like they might have been digital paintings, perhaps by the person who did the portrait art of Cole? Almost looks a similar style in the face. Sometimes when you have a lot of work, artists will pass things off to others for any number of reasons. 

 

I'm kind of sad I don't have the game versions. The lady elf might have a random single breast, but that card has a lot more colour and detail, it seems.

 

edit: Though honestly, I've been wary of the randomly naked elf tarot card from the start, so I guess it's not that big of a deal for me. Where are your clothes, Lavellan...

Just curious, how many of y'all headcanon Solas as dominant? I don't really, especially considering how forward Levellan is in their flirts. I think he would be passionate, yes, but not necessarily dominate. I'm biased...

I don't necessarily see him as dominant. I do think he has...experience, but I believe him when he says it's been a long time. Then again, he really seems to go for it whenever Lavellan makes the first move, so idk.

I prefer the art from the game, to be honest. Especially lined up side by side because they look like they belong together just like that. Additionally, I loved the vast differences in the female card versus the romanced Solas card: Every from the clothes and tattoos (or in our case lack thereof in both cases), to the differences in stance and the position of their faces. I may very well be reading too much into this, but her lack of fancy clothes and inclusion of slave tats obviously mark her as having lower social standing than him (even though she becomes the Inquisitor, he is still Fen-Harel).

I loooooved everything after you find your people. The way he watches people admire your Inquisitor, from afar, the hand twirl, and that expression when at last they get to Skyhold and she's lost in awe at the sight of their new home and walks ahead of him (his eyebrows coming in low as he watches the Inquisitor, you can just see him thinking)--so, so, soooo much thought was put into him and I love it!
