Lavellan's totem is either a wolf or a stag. I believe it is mage=stag, wolf=rogue, warrior. But some people reported getting a wolf mage too. Might be a glitch, or its tied to something else.

Yes, mage is a stag, and to me, non-mage looks like a fennec -- look at the floppy ears!

Solas just needs to learn the merits of adding milk and honey to tea. It is fantastic.

Yeah, I agree. I think despite all his attempts at humility, there may still be a somewhat spoiled, upper class elf hidden in there. He does seem to go crazy over the drinks at the ball, so I would say he probably enjoys fine wine too.

I agree with these things about Solas being an upper class elf.

He has power, ancient power that basically makes him whatever version of immortal he is. Wealth, power, privilage- I bet these are all second nature to him.

He's been around a thousand years. Seen it all. Had shrines built for him. Seen (and probably sampled) all of the pleasures the world has to offer.

That's my head canon anyway. Lol

Also, not sure if anyone put this up here yet but

Cypher translation:
do you honestly think it didn't break my heart to write some of that?

So maybe he doesn't dine with wine made with our tears.
maybe.

=D little less cackle

Hmm, I see and I am not sure if it's a fennec, maybe a fox or wolf cub?

I don't mind too much about xbox one being delayed. I think besides a few issues (I had to turn off my controller vibration bc it kept bugging during all new faded for her, we have had very few bugs compared to PC.

The big ones for me are companion quests not triggering. I can't romance Dorian because his companion quest never triggers for me. The other big one is the dialogue issues (not the party banter), where I will be unable to select things on the wheel without bringing up the combat menu, or dialogue will just cut out entirely. But yes, generally there haven't been too many MAJOR bugs that I've seen. Nothing like when Bethesda releases a game (I'm looking at you still-unplayable Fallout)

Makes a ton of sense! Also explains why he understands, but doesn't really understand the plight of the downtrodden. Sure he's all about freedom, but he seems to sorely lack the ability to realize that part of the reason why the City Elves and Dalish are so far removed from the ancient elves is because every day is basically a struggle for survival. He seems to be very privileged, and very unaware of that fact.

My Solfession of the Day:

I kept trying to deliberately kill my Lavellan in combat last night after reading reports of a heartbroken Solas yelling 'Noooo!' if she falls. This is what happened:

Motherfucker would NOT let her die.

Even when I had the group hold position as she fade stepped to the far boundary of the combat zone, well away from possible interventions, or so I thought... No place was far enough to be beyond the reach of his barrier casting. Time after time, I'm one hit away from dying -- and from the other side of the zone, comes that zap of blue light. I was the one yelling 'Nooooo!'

I was torn between frustration and LMAO.

If anything, I think the road he's going down ("the path I now must walk in solitude forever") is going to be one of self sacrifice and he's going to have to give up something great in order to accomplish that. If he's being honest about this being something he wouldn't wish on an enemy, it doesn't exactly bode well for him, y'know? He doesn't want to bring other people into it because he thinks he started this, so he's the only one who should face the ramifications.

I think there's some merit to the idea that Solas believes that only he will pay the price for whatever it is he's doing. For story reasons, that can't possibly be true unless the lines from Cole are really the last we ever hear of Solas. Which I'm not sure isn't exactly what's going to happen. The post credit scene is leading into something though, Solas doing something that affects Thedas most likely. I don't think, for story reasons, that he can just make a huge personal sacrifice and make the world a better place. If that is what he does, he's either going to make things worse or bad in different ways. BioWare isn't done telling stories in Thedas, there's no way they're going to magically make their dark fantasy world better. Maybe at the end of the last game when they're done with it but probably not then either.

They were immortal from what I can tell. I wonder about this: if maybe they were immortal but unable to enter uthenara like the higher castes? So they had to be eternal slaves while the Dreamers went to frolic in the Fade? I don't know. I'm having a difficult time grasping how populations worked when everyone lived forever.

The more we learn about the fade (like how there's no time in the fade), dreamers, etc...I'm starting to think their "immortality" is supposed to be something like "nirvana" maybe? Or maybe just something not quite so literal. Like how Solas talks about what happens to spirits when they die, they just go back to the fade, and it's possible for them to come back one day, but the personality they had before is gone forever and they won't remember. So for an "immortal" they do remember.

If you're playing a mage and having a hard time getting your character killed because of last minute barriers, you might want to check to see if you have Guardian Spirit in the Spirit tree.

Excellent thought; thank you! Alas, I do not have it.

Perhaps my game is bugged - Solas doesn't seem to ever say anything during combat.

Same here. Others have battle cries but I never hear anything from Solas. I just assume it's bugged out.

Haha I somewhat recognized it and I remember being like "WAIT, DID HE JUST TELL ME HE LOVES ME???"

And then I frantically googled it and had a fangirl moment when I found out I was right.  :D

He screams about Cole a lot I think, and Varric, and I think it's "Cassandra needs assistance!". My Inquisitor is usually the last to go down (just like my Hawke) so if the party members respond to their "death", I never get to hear it. <_< Stupid Knight Enchanter Quizzie.

I invested in the Spirit tree for Solas, so every time someone goes down he gets those nice little green angel wings ;)

Yep, I double checked on this thread for this meaning after I tried to translate it on the wiki.

Ar lath ma, vhenan means, I love you, my heart.

Also, for consistency's sake:

Oh, I definitely agree that he's not just going to magically make things right. I didn't mean to give that impression, sorry. "It's more complicated than that", eh? I just meant to say that, well, his road is paved with good intentions that've had unforeseen negative results, so I can't see him purposefully moving Thedas towards a darker future. But, I can see him making some big sacrifice with the intent to magically fix things.
