Yeah, he tells you that he loves you at the second kiss. He moves way faster than the other companions.
It's nice that he's so sure.

So that last scene with Flemythal is so sad to watch (so of course I just watched it a few times). The way he almost falls into her arms, it just makes him look so sad and broken. The inquisitor never sees him so vulnerable. It really looks to me like a more maternal/ deep friendship relationship rather than two lovers.
I really hope he's just absorbing her power, and that her spirit just travels to another one of her horcruxes.

It just brings a whole new meaning to the scene. Damn them for not translating elvan for the elf characters.

Yep! Solas fell hard and fast, it seems! I was surprised to hear him say that so early.

My Solfession of the Day:
I kept trying to deliberately kill my Lavellan in combat last night after reading reports of a heartbroken Solas yelling 'Noooo!' if she falls. This is what happened:
<snip>
I was wondering, does he do that when other (non elf/romance/female) characters die? I noticed a few times I died and he yells something that sounds like "venedas!" but I have *no* idea what that means.

I think there's some merit to the idea that Solas believes that only he will pay the price for whatever it is he's doing. For story reasons, that can't possibly be true unless the lines from Cole are really the last we ever hear of Solas. Which I'm not sure isn't exactly what's going to happen. The post credit scene is leading into something though, Solas doing something that affects Thedas most likely. I don't think, for story reasons, that he can just make a huge personal sacrifice and make the world a better place. If that is what he does, he's either going to make things worse or bad in different ways. BioWare isn't done telling stories in Thedas, there's no way they're going to magically make their dark fantasy world better. Maybe at the end of the last game when they're done with it but probably not then either.
He does say a few times, usually in cryptic "I'm just speaking generally of course" contexts, that you have to break a few eggs to make omelets. To me he has an immortal's sense of the importance of mortal lives, and I don't mean that in a complimentary way. Generally he's compassionate, but if someone has to die for a better world, he can detach himself.

Mhmm, no wonder he looks so serious and kisses her so passionately after saying, "But losing you would..."

I think maybe it's "venavis" which is what Abelas says when we meet him. I think it basically means, "Stop!"

He's got it bad for Lavellan
Judging by how he looks right before he leaves in the balcony scene for a non-romance Lavellan I think he's got it bad for our lovely Lavellan regardless of our part in it.
Edit: Sidenote. only 8114 more screenshots until i break the 9999 limit the default numbering is set up for. muahaha.

Doesn't Sera accuse him of wanting Quizzy if she's an elf and romancing her. And he doesn't deny it.

Any thoughts on what gave him the forehead scar? I'd love a banter where the companions try to guess how he got it.

Oh, I definitely agree that he's not just going to magically make things right. I didn't mean to give that impression, sorry. "It's more complicated than that", eh? I just meant to say that, well, his road is paved with good intentions that've had unforeseen negative results, so I can't see him purposefully moving Thedas towards a darker future. But, I can see him making some big sacrifice with the intent to magically fix things.
I think Solas will do what he believes is best and that his intentions are to help. I don't think he's above making sacrifices out of other people to achieve his goals though. He may try to avoid those at first but I don't think he's entirely above making them if it comes down to it. He's already done something to Flemythal that looks a whole lot like killing.

Yeah, I agree with this more than the idea of it being a purely personal sacrifice he's making. I don't think it's impossible that he believes only he'll pay the price but he's also made too many comments about terrible things being necessary for me to believe he won't do what he thinks he needs to, no matter who gets hurt. Very ends justify the means.
I was wondering, does he do that when other (non elf/romance/female) characters die? I noticed a few times I died and he yells something that sounds like "venedas!" but I have *no* idea what that means.
Fenedhis is a common curse in elven.

Aw... too bad I'll never see that in my Lavellan playthroughs, but that's rather sweet.

Aight I'm going to be totally honest here. Did anyone else find Solas straight up ugly when you first saw him? I didn't follow DA:I development, so it was my first time learning about the new characters in the series.

Perhaps when being captured by Athaill (I know that's spelt wrong, Goddess of hunt person)

If he wasn't an elf, I probably would have. But elves are just so addicting. ![]()

That first picture of him was just...weird. So yeah. But I said before that I think Solas is one of those characters that really only shine once you can see them in motion. And then there are other characters that look better in screenshots and artworks.

I *think* I've seen a clip of that (I don't have enough patience with Sera's elf-hate to romance her as one, and they're my favorite race)
Aw... too bad I'll never see that in my Lavellan playthroughs, but that's rather sweet.
I should compare this with a male playthrough. If he doesn't react the same way I should then compare with other females. If it's just Lavellan's that's... Ridiculously cute.
But I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a universal reaction

I blame the giant spiders. he probably didn't leave them enough food.

Nope, but I've been obsessing about him since.... his character was conceived, lol.
He just kept getting progressively hotter.

And I still think it's where the courser in Merrill's story bit him. I'd love to hear the true story as opposed to the legend. ![]()
