Where do I find this banter? I need it for uh... research purposes. yeah... Research.
Also as a side note I am incredibly glad to have Solas and Cullen as romance options every time I talk to Blackwall and Sera. I find Blackwall's responses to everything rather... Painful to listen to having put in several hundred hours in on Origins.
And sera is still... Sera. She's kind of the character you either love or hate. there's not much in between with her.

I'm gunna try to do a completionist run now that I know the pacing and what happens in the romance.
LOL. I did the same thing my first PT. Never made it to those last two areas. Solas did tell me to focus my anger into stopping Corypheus, so that's what I did! Straight through to the end.
In my current playthrough, which I'm hoping for completionist, I'm probably going to go on hold before the final two missions. Leave it hanging there in case of future DLC.
See, I feel like they have to bring him back even gameplay wise as he ran off with a lot of my awesome mage gear last time? or are they telling me that i have to strip him down to his hobo-apostate pyjamas before the final fight?
I'm totally gonna strip him down before I finish my Cullen-romance playthrough and see what he looks like in the cutscenes. I won't stop laughing for years if he shows up in his jammies in the final cutscenes. I mean, he's in his jammies

I did it as well. Started the final quest almost immediately. Once the big bad was defeated and it was pretty clear that Solas wasn't going to make good on his promise to explain things, I didn't even stop to talk to a single person at the victory party. Just marched straight up to my quarters to sulk.
Then came the post-credit scene, and everything started making very weird and amazing sense.

Yeah I'm going to do everything up until the final battle with Cory on my current completionist playthrough... and just leave it there until there's any news of post-ending DLC with Solas. I can handle the break up, but him leaving without saying good bye while in a romance was too sad for me (at least until I know they can see each other again).

I agree with you about the eluvian being the only doorways to the Black City prison.
And beyond the Elgar'non murdering his wife in a jealous rage theory, perhaps Mythal was murdered by her slaves as she slept in Uthenara. Yeah, just another thing we can pin on Fen'Harel.
If you want to get really stretchy with figurative meanings (and artfully avoid Solas x Mythal awkwardness for your Lavellan) here's one possible interpretation:
Solas takes up arms against the status quo in ancient Arlathan. He's alone, intially, but eventually 'woos' Mythal to his way of thinking. She leaves her closest allies, joins him in his rebellion, and is killed. So... duelling ideologies are the actual conflict reflected in the husband/lover dichotomy of the various myths.
AND THEN THE WOLF IS ALL OURS

Anyway, sketchy support for any of it, aside from Flemythal's general non-interference in modern Thedas and apparent total lack of interest in developing a fawning legion of slave-worshippers. I think after the last few millennia, she's done with the whole 'making the world better' crusade, if she was ever really on board in the first place. She just wants people to leave her the hell alone while she plots revenge.

I feel like they didn't give me dialog options with all my companions during that part to reflect my mood. Everyone was happy and I was just...sad. I think the closest I got was talking to Viviene, being able to say I was worried about the future or something.

At least our Lavellans got badass glares of "Oh, hahren, you're in for it now." I'd like to imagine that if there's anyone in the world who would give the Dread Wolf pause, it's pissed off/determined Lavellan.

Gah. There was a map of Crestwood that showed where Solas takes you in the final romance scene and now I can't find it.
It's the basilisk pool in the ... south east, I think? Head through the cave to get there.

Rewatching it, it definitely does seem more ominous than I initially took it (at first I thought she took over his body and was like NOOO). Like, she says she's sorry, and then suddenly he's aglow and she looks surprised. Definitely could be willingly done OR forcibly taken. Oh goodness Solas plz don't be a baddie ): I want an ending where they end up togetherrrr
Oh I also went straight into the final battle after the big dump scene...
