It's not new, I just find it odd that he's consistently depicted that way, which doesn't seem to be the case for anyone else. I mean Mythal can become a dragon and has some dragon elements in her statues but she's still depicted as an elf in many places too. Maybe it was just a style choice to not give Solas' identity away (though a lot of the ancient elves seem to be bald and Solas-like anyway)

 

 

Omg. Just imagine if the ancient elves are brought back and all of them look almost exactly like Solas. Such a ridiculous mental image.

I feel like they didn't give me dialog options with all my companions during that part to reflect my mood. Everyone was happy and I was just...sad. I think the closest I got was talking to Viviene, being able to say I was worried about the future or something.

 

The closest for me was Cassandra (or Josephine?) asking if the Inquisitor wanted some cake. To which I chose "I don't want cake." The tone was snappy enough to sate some of my sulkiness.

Rewatching it, it definitely does seem more ominous than I initially took it (at first I thought she took over his body and was like NOOO). Like, she says she's sorry, and then suddenly he's aglow and she looks surprised. Definitely could be willingly done OR forcibly taken. Oh goodness Solas plz don't be a baddie ): I want an ending where they end up togetherrrr

Then the smoke comes out of his eyes. So her soul is now in him.

I’m about to get kind of mushy on you guys, warning in advance. Telling you guys how much I love you all earlier got me feeling rather introspective.

Several months ago I was basically done with the forums.

 

Literally, done. I had my fair share of drama (mostly my own fault, I’ll admit) and I was so over all of it that I even had them delete my entire account. That’s how over it I was.

 

But when Inquisition came out it seems I was unable to stop myself from remaking my account so I could discuss things.

 

It was tentative at first, and while my last home (the Cullen thread) is full of many really wonderful people I didn’t quite feel as at home as I had before my self-exile.

 

But then I found you guys and for me anyway, it just clicked. There’s a wonderful ease here, and everyone is so welcoming. It’s become a nice little community and I’m so glad to be a part of it. There’s a very nice balance between rabid fangirling, mutual despair and seriously intelligent theories- and it really has been my go-to place all day.  #cantstopwontstop

Hello again my fellow Solas romancing compatriots. It's been 2 weeks, and I have yet to return to the game - all the attempts futile, with the ending of that story still influencing my decisions, and just as heart-wrenching as it was before. So, as many of you did before, I'm turning to writing it all out - a fanfiction. Do be critical, for I've no beta to criticize my choice in words. But please, not too harsh - I wouldn't have liked to be discouraged from finishing it. Enjoy.

Also, Solas doesn't seem to know how to casually kiss Lavellan.  Each of their kisses is...wow.  Yowza.

There is something special about this thread. And it was such a relief, after kicking myself for feeling so heartbroken over a digital elf, to find that in fact, it was a quite common reaction and to find people that are equally obsessed

Not sure if this has been brought up yet, but has any of you lovelies finished The Temple Of Solasan in the Forbidding Oasis?
You have to gather every shard and open 9 doors and according to the guide (haven't done this yet) there is a tomb at the very end. You have to fight a level 19 boss to get to it. Not sure if any story info comes from it, but they made it crazy hard to get to for a reason

What if this is where Solas was asleep for over a millennia? It makes sense. It's the temple of pride. Could be why he took that name. It's also ridiculously hard to finish. It's very high level. I wonder if there's spoilers hidden within.

About the well and the glowy eye stuff

I watched a recording about the well of sorrow quest when the inquisitor did not ally with the guardians and Abelas tried to destroy the well himself. When he was using his magic, he had the dark smokey glowy eye thing going on as well. It reminded me of the end scene with solas and the glowy eyes. Maybe it's a type of magic being used? Or the power Abelas was using was related to Mythal too? And that was Mythal's power making solas's eyes glow.

So chatting to Solas after the Temple of Mythal with my manquisitor has made my poor elf look all the more a fool.

After he did his talk about how they can retrieve the orb and the past will still survive, my manquisitor just narrowed his eyes and asked Solas if he was planning to leave soon. Solas said he was saying goodbye while he had the chance.

Now I feel even sadder for my elf because after he said those lines to her, she was all "We will do it together!" So he walked her to a waterfall and dumped her. Wah wah waaaaah. She had no idea. Poor Lavellan. So naive.

Apparently nothing gets past Trevelyan. I'm pretty sure he's been on to Solas the whole time.
I drank from the well this time, because the idea that he might get bound to Solas now is major lolsworthy. Comedy will ensue. But I absolutely LOVED Solas yelling at him after. It was the perfect balance of rage vs laze.
Solas all yelling about how if he was there he would have warned him not to do it (I know you wouldn't Solas, you liar) and how he is now forever a servant to an elven God.
Then I poked him further with some "you don't even believe in elven Gods"
More yelling. So much yelling.
But somehow I walked away with a tonne of approval.

... Because no one can resist Rufio Trevelyan.

But I think I'll be drinking from the well more often. I enjoyed Dorians angry cursing and loved watching Solas flip out. I'm a terrible human being... Totally worth it.

Yes, that's what I took it for as well, after tons of Abelas... research.

I've noticed the same effect when Cole heals somebody too.  I can't remember which scene, but it caught my attention in my second playthrough.

I finished it, but I'm still not sure what effect it had on the story.  Solas commented on the temple being unusual after you beat the last boss.
