HE KEPT CALLING ME 'SHEMLEN'.
(I actually think I got a few bugs at that point because Lavellan didn't seem to know who the elven gods where and I got refered to as Shemlen. But I also got dialouge about being Dalish...)
That's weird, he only called me shemlen... once, I think? Every other time he said it he was referencing Morrigan and he definitely said it less than when I was playing a Trevelyan. When the game remembered I was Dalish, those final conversations between Abelas and Lavellan and Lavellan and Flemeth just felt so very personal (though I let Morrigan drink from the Well... again. I'm a chicken.)

Oh no, he calls you Shemlen for a reason. You are. It's one of the painful parts of the Solasmancing that doesn't come up as much. Compared to Solas, compared to Abelas, Flemythal, etc, you're quickened. Mortal. Shem. At the core, that's all it means- but yeah, there's definitely an intentional undertone of "not of my people".
Okay Solas has ruined it for me. I rolled a human rogue for Cullen today. But this gnawing feeling came after seeing solas at intro and I immediately rolled lavellan and now playing her to create the "perfect" playthrough..Whyyyyyy
Hehe. I'm so glad I recorded videos of Solas, when I get that feeling I just rewatch them and I'm all good to continue trying to bang Dorian.
Ahhh Makes sense. I've never played a male character for more than a few hours. It makes me feel weird when there's the option to be female.
Plus Alistair.

Bahaha I meant 2:38ish ![]()
Plus, I think its more tragic if Fen'harel was bound and into bed by those he risked everything for to protect.
That temple was either made to protect something or to keep it from getting loose.
Remember, the elves reacted very badly to having their gods sealed away. Them bounding him and forcing him into eternal slumber in a tomb makes sense.
Btw, on Solas comments about the temple. He is more than likely feigning ignorance. He has before. "I wonder what kind of artifact could cause a rift in the fade? The power alone is insane... Blah blah... lIES"
There is also one of his artifacts inside....

I'm rolling a "perfect" playthrough for Solas too... and part of me hopes it will carry over into a post-ending DLC. ![]()
I had her flirt with with pretty much everyone she could until their first kiss, though. I felt kind of bad when Sera called her pretty... now I feel like a tease :/

See, I never got the shemlen line from Abelas with my Lavellan. But she was both wary of the Well and respectful toward him, and never showed any inclination toward drinking it. I also didn't pick any of the "DERP WHO'S MYTHAL" dialogue options, so Lavellan didn't sound as out of the loop.

That makes a lot more sense. Hmm, it brings to mind just who Cole is. Could be be something more then just a spirit of compassion.
I love this thread. Everybody is always so nice.
*sigh*
It doesn't feel like that long ago we were being complimented by the devs for being unicorns and writing Disney songs about our fade nerd.
I wasn't here for that but I wish I would have been.
As for Disney songs, well...I'm the biggest Disney nerd there is. I even worked there. ![]()

I've heard Disney is one of the worst places to work. Disneyland, not the producing side. . . We're talking Disneyland?

Speaking of Disney, I want Solas to do this to my Lavellan in the Fade:
...kind of fitting since Jasmine thinks he's someone else, too ![]()

I picked the DERP MYTHAL dialouge because most of the Dalish dialouge had been really good at acknowledging the Inquisitor was an elf, so I wanted to see how the game would handle that line.
'Badly' I think is the term I should use.

I know a dude from college who works for Disney Imagineering. The stuff they get up to is nuts.
Hmm. Which Disney song would you guys pick for Solas and Lavellan, knowing what you know now about their relationship?

yeah. If i had that choice my first playthrough I'd have promptly turned off my computer, crawled into bed and said "nope" for the next hour.

Its okay. Dorian still loves you.
So....who let Solas kill the mages on his personal quest? I did!
Because I got tired of telling my companions what to do all the time. They can make their own choices, damnit!

Yeah, I just assumed anything would adjust and then it... didn't. It's especially silly when your Lavellan has the Mythal vallaslin. :|

My boyfriend sat there watching me sob "Oh you bastards nope nope nope nope." And he was very gallant and did his best not to laugh at my feelz. I was spoiled for some stuff for DA:I (Corypheus being the big bad, Solas having no endgame files) so that decision hit like a train car.

My Lavellan was the same. She took some disapproval hits from Sera for demanding to know why he and the others weren't helping the other elves, but she was respectful toward his culture and at the end agreed with him that the Well should be destroyed. He looked so surprised by that. When he said shemlen it felt like it was very clearly directed at other members of the party and Morrigan particularly. Whenever Abelas addressed her directly, he never called her shemlen except right at the end when he was leaving.
I do agree with others that Solas' position on the Well isn't clear. He clearly doesn't think anyone should use it but knows they need it's knowledge and he distrusts Morrigan's intentions. She tries to preserve knowledge in order to build up her own power base and is too proud (ha, solas...) to understand what she's getting into. However, from what he says, it feels like he wants the Inquisitor to drink when that's the last thing he wants. It's... er... makes me glad I had Cole with me the first time I ran through it because he was pretty clear in his own way about why it's a bad idea.
