Ha!

Seriously though,

Maybe I'm brainless
Maybe I'm wise
But you've got me seeing
Through different eyes

I hope PW releases that writing playlist soon.

If someone asks him I bet we'll get the standard "Spoilers" response -- whether or not it's true! I think all Solas questions get that response xD

Not sure if this bit of fanart has been posted yet but someone many pages ago mentioned wanting Solas/Lavellan painting stuff and...:

Spoiler

Hahahahahaha whenever I get sad about Solas' romance I'm just going to imagine annoyed grumpy Solas being annoyed and grumpy at the silly mortals constantly singing annoying Disney songs :D

Also on a slightly unrelated note, anyone else think that the new translated (from elven) version of 'I Am the One' seems rather like a song about Solas?

Definitely not the only one.  That song is entirely about Solas.  Which is really sad and horrible especially since we've had that song since Origins.  I cannot even imagine what meaning we attached to it previously.

Ugh, I'm dying again.  I just cannot get over how perfect and steeped in myth this romance is.  So many times it feels like you are an outsider trying to fix the world in rpgs, but this one has truly sucked me into this universe.  Like the Inquisitor feels like a living breathing aspect of lore and history in Thedas.  She/He is not simply yet another hero.

Then add in a romance with another person of pivotal importance and it's amazing.  Heartbreaking and tragic, but amazing.

I may have just finished another playthrough and may be in need of hugs.

*reads patch notes*

Oh, so this is the reason why I was able to make mage comments despite playing a rouge.

Those blue and red star options were mage specific, right?

...

Well, trololol, I guess.

*goes back to crying some more in the corner*

The blue and red star options are from taking the arcane knowledge perk under secrets. It's not mage related.

Heh. Well he promised to get together with the other writers and get a blog post about it hammered out, so it can't be too spoilery.

Oh I know! Prince of Egypt is an ear worm for me. And we can't be blamed! Inquisition intentionally evokes biblical parallels. :D

Lol, not Solas related but all this Prince of Egypt talk is bringing back my Catholic school days and how I sang this in choir XD

Such a beautiful song, though :)

Edit: Though, I suppose it could be interpreted as the struggle of the Dalish and how things are about to change.

I'm so surprised there are so many people that like Prince of Egypt here. I loved that movie growing up and none of my friends even know what it is.

Anyway the Dalish were originally based off the Jewish people so it's not surprising they have a few things in common.

You know I have been thinking about how they will resolve this whole thing.

Firstly, I do believe it will be resolved with the Inquisitor.  It has to be.  I refuse to believe that any writer would walk away from this truly beautiful story.

I am concerned though.  Because I could foresee the story ending tragically, possibly with death for either Solas or Quizzy or both.  I'm concerned that Bioware will think that we will riot like everyone did at the end of ME3.  I just don't want to lose out on a potentially gorgeous ending, because they feel we can't handle an emotional climax.  Because I'm a sucker for powerful story and if the story calls for their deaths, then I will gladly watch it.

I mean I'll cry.  I always cry.  There's a reason sappy love stories exist and it's so we can cry.

People rioted because the two idiot who wrote the endings left galaxy sized plot holes.  And Gamers for Kids got a LOT of money in donations so it's all good.

I'm really hoping for a second or third game with the Quizzy.  At the very least there has to be an expansion for Solas and what he want's to change.  His is the biggest plot mystery.

The more I think about it, the more I'm imagining Solas as the elven Thedas version of Moses :D

I really have no problem imagining Fen'Harel doing a whole 'ten plagues of Arlathan' thing back in the day to try and get the other elven god's to free the people, except the last plague is the plague of 'Going to seal you away forever' instead!

Arghh Prince of Egypt has so much beautiful music... You know I kinda imagined for Solas too, with perhaps the other elven god's being Ramses

I was actually thinking the other day how Solas would have been in his younger years, and this reminded me of it. It has been discussed, but I agree that he very much would have enjoyed the respect and even worship from others...at first. But then something horrible happens, something he can't joke about and ignore like the others can. That's when he starts seeing the problems in his home; that's when Solas changes. He may have lead a resistance, removed vallaslin from slaves, and when all seemed hopeless he locked his fellows away. He became weak, went to sleep, woke up to find his homeland close to myth - he thought he was doing the right thing, then everything is just so so wrong. That's why he's snippy with Dorian, because he reminds him too much of his younger self.

You know I have been thinking about how they will resolve this whole thing.

I really do hope there is a choice for a happy ending. That's all I want.

I am concerned about Solas...I mean, if he intends to release the Creators...they are going to be pissed with him and want to kill him, I'm sure of it. And, he's acting rashly and so caught up in his guilt and pride that he doesn't see that such a change would slaughter everyone in Thedas.

Kitty hugs make all things better.  My kitty hugged me after DA:I.  Granted, he was trying to get dinner early but I appreciated the cuddle

@Cheerios, I just hope it's an option, as it was an option in DAO to die or not, and as it was an option in DA2 whether Anders and Fenris died/lived. Choice is good. My fear is that they'll shoe-horn us one way or the other, and I do not for one second believe that you could not write a compelling story with either outcome.

And I agree, there has to be DLC or something in the pipeline to wrap this up. I say DLC because I agree it must be the Inquisitor to solve this, and I don't think they'd go with the same protagonist for DA4, but I suppose they could.

Honestly I'm just glad I'm not the only person out there that really cares about Solas and his story, getting way more emotionally invested in this one than any other. Thought I might be going a tad insane.

I really think Bioware outdid themselves with this one.

Some of them are.  Any option to make a prisoner Tranquil are meant for mages only, and several of the blue hand options relate to using magic and being a mage.

Uh come here ... don't be cry.  We'll hold on together and surely it will be alright.

@amranthe

I would love a happy ending with Solas.  I truly would.  Lavellan gets properly deified and her and Solas run off to create a new Pantheon together.  If you catch my drift.  ;)

I just can't justify it.  In the end, Lavellan will die and Solas will be alone again ... forever.  Waiting on the beautiful and rare spirit to reform into some version of Lavellan once again.

Now I know how Morrigan romance fans felt between DA:O and Witch Hunt.  That was a gap of, what, a year and a half?  I might just die if we have to wait as long for closure with Solas.

I also have a silly headcanon involving kitties.  There have to be mousers at Skyhold, and my quizzy loves kitties.  She leaves out treats for them and lets them sleep in her room.  And one of them just hates Solas and hisses ferociously at him because he smells like wolf.

NOT SORRY.

I love "Heaven's Eyes". Honestly, I wish there had been something like this in the game. More people trying to get him to interact.

Ah, I need more "Slice of Life, Skyhold", Lavellan teaches Solas to understand the Dalish fics. I don't know Dalish culture well enough to write it though. Not to see them as fallen, lost, and primitive but as good people who look out for each other.

As long as they survive the next game, I can headcanon Lavellan's immortality. If the Warden can cure the taint, I'm sure Lavellan can figure out a way to live forever. Maybe she and Solas can be immortal in the Fade?

As if the Solas sadness wasn't enough, my Surana might lose Leliana to divinehood. I am hoping Cassandra will become Divine, but I allied with the mages and I don't know...I can't take it if both of my elf lady protagonists are sad.

If any of you have read Endless Nights, I really like what happens to the priestess who falls in love with the sun.  She's not immortal, but when she dies, he takes her spirit into his own to keep him company until he too burns out.
