Now I know how Morrigan romance fans felt between DA:O and Witch Hunt.  That was a gap of, what, a year and a half?  I might just die if we have to wait as long for closure with Solas.

I also have a silly headcanon involving kitties.  There have to be mousers at Skyhold, and my quizzy loves kitties.  She leaves out treats for them and lets them sleep in her room.  And one of them just hates Solas and hisses ferociously at him because he smells like wolf.

NOT SORRY.

Woof no -- it was less than a year. Origins came out in Nov 2009 and Witch Hunt released in Sept 2010. So...10 months or so. And really her story is still going, though the Warden arc seems to be finished maybe >.>

Wow, you're right this is exactly how Morrigan fans felt.  I could never truly trust her in Origins and I don't typically play non-female characters, but her romance was pretty good in the game.  Kinda like Zev, but without the happily ever after.  My heart could not handle a year and a half wait, but I would wait if we could have an ending like that one.

Ps.  does anyone know what happens if you kill Morrigan in Witch Hunt?

You didn't kill her, you only stabbed her and she fell through the mirror.

Edit: Unlike Leilanna who always had her head cut off in game.  Morrigan wasn't confirmed dead.

Some of them are.  Any option to make a prisoner Tranquil are meant for mages only, and several of the blue hand options relate to using magic and being a mage.

The blue hand is mage. The red and blue star is the arcane perk, the green book is the history perk, the crown is the whatever Josephine's perk is - nobility, I think. I took underworld knowledge too late to see it in action, I think, so I don't know what it's symbol is... It miiiight be a raven.

You may not be able to make mage prisoners Tranquil without the arcane knowledge perk though.

Oops.  My bad, thank you for the correction  :)

As for the Warden, mine is off trying to fix the Calling, but according to the epilogue whomever you send to Weisshaupt (romanced Warden!Alistair in my game) drops off the radar.

No, no, NO, BioWare.  This is not DONE.  Amell and Alistair are my only happy couple left in Dragon Age.  Hawke's dead, Anders is probably nuts, and Lavellan's boyfriend turned out to be a god who walked out on her.  Just let me have Alistair and the Warden.  PRETTY PLEASE.

I"m doing the knowledge perks while I'm still in Haven this time around.  Totally hoping to geek out with Solas.

I love "Heaven's Eyes". Honestly, I wish there had been something like this in the game. More people trying to get him to interact.

Ah, I need more "Slice of Life, Skyhold", Lavellan teaches Solas to understand the Dalish fics. I don't know Dalish culture well enough to write it though. Not to see them as fallen, lost, and primitive but as good people who look out for each other.

Terrwyn got a bit of a wake-up call on how other clans do things. Some are bandits, some shove out their mages instead of giving them to another clan...it hurt her. That drives her to be an example, and to want to change things for her people - Dalish and City Elf. She gets a...hehe...little miffed when Solas shows no interest in it. It's like those super long texts filled with heart and emotion, and you just get a "k" in response.

Whenever I use a knowledge perk for a judgment, I get a bunch of approval from different companions and almost no disapproval ever. You can also recruit a couple of agents with them. They are worth it. The underworld knowledge symbol is a raven. I thought that should have been something in Leliana's skill tree but whatever.

Listening to "Deliver Us" and thinking about the elves' near-perpetual enslavement and disenfranchisement is giving me feels, man. Jeez.

Imagining Solas as a dashing Prince of Egypt-type figure in his youth is intriguing, though.

Also he's doing really well in this poll for being the most restricted romance in the game: http://strawpoll.me/3156631

Oh, I never chose that option so I didn't realize.  It's hard for me to kill characters that feel so important to the story. I always want to know what they are going to do and a sick part of me wants their nefarious plans to work out.

On the topic of Solas giving up immortality ... I'm not sure he could.  When you ask him about immortality and it's connection to magic, he says that it wasn't a spell and was an intrinsic part of their being.  Which begs the question, how many other immortal elves are wandering around Thedas and where are they?  The immortality was not limited to the gods and Solas does not seem to be any less immortal by simply hanging out with shemlem.  What actually caused the immortality to fade?

The raven (underworld) and the arcane knowledge perk are the two most useful early in game, so I grab them first. (You can recruit Ritts without Varric. :D ) Nobility only has the least from what I've seen ironically underworld is more useful at the Winter Ball than noble. History too.

Oh Solas...

I might be wrong, but I think the only Solas-specific dialogue that uses the knowledge perks is in All New, Faded for Her.  It uses the arcane knowledge dialogue option.

I miss having a Mabari.  :(

Now I wish we had one because what if Solas really does hate hounds and that Dalish tale is rooted in some truth? I just picture the mabari growling at Solas and Solas looking around to make sure nobody can hear and then releasing a full Dread Wolf growl right back at that mutt.

I wonder how it went away then..If it were just exposure to humans than you think it'd affect all elves - living and yet to be born. What started or stopped that led to them losing immortality and can it be reinstated?

It also seems like maybe it was gradual. I only base that off the codex you can find in the Temple of Mythal talking about Uthenara and sadness...though even that's a bit strange since Abelas & co. seem to be "fine".

According to lore, immortality faded from contact with humans. And if there are any immortal elves left, they're either all like Abelas, locked away in secret elf ruins, or asleep (there's a word for the sleep the elves went into but I can't remember it now).

So it's possible he could "give up" immortality by becoming more attached to this world, being around humans more, assuming the lore is even correct.

When talking to him about it, they used to do spells that took years to complete. Evolution would extend their lives a bit, or really slowed it down.

The elvan slave aren't mentioned that much. Maybe they were a sub-species of the race that didn't have the long lives. Really, who would pay attention to the slaves and how long they lived?

Yeah, it uses the arcane knowledge perk and makes the binding circle easier to kill by cutting it's life in half

Yeah, Eirwen did too when she finally realized how bad things were out there. I don't think she's ready to give up on the Dalish. I think she'd be insistent on showing him some of the more positive aspects of her culture. She needs to, she's being asked to embrace so much as the Herald of Andraste and it's easy to forget where she came from in all the glitz.

That's an interesting point.  Like when Solas is arguing on behalf of Cole becoming more like a spirit.  If Cole were to stay as a human, then he will eventually age and die.  However, his detachment and "spiritiness" keeps him from needing nourishment or anything "mortal".  Perhaps Solas functions on a similar level and so did all of the elves.  Population concerns would not really be a problem then in ancient Arlathan as I imagine they did not procreate lightly.  It would also explain his bipolar personality.  He is struggling not to get pulled into this world, but cares too deeply for the common man.
