Aww...Omega Ruby would totally help me with Solas feels...though I would probably catch an Absol and name him Solas and Amie the hell out of him...but I am a poor university student therefore no Pokemon for me until Grandma gets it for me for Christmas.
The other day...when Lavellan told Morrigan to back off when they were at the Well of Sorrows...it felt like she and Abelas had something there. It was the way he looked at her. I think Solas sensed it, and that's why things turned out the way they did.
Yep. No problems or projection here. I'm still waiting for an Abelas thread that I'm too lazy to make myself. Is it bad that it feels like I'm cheating on a fictional character when I discuss another fictional character in the first fictional character's designated thread? The correct answer is yes. I thought I'd be more normal this close to 25.
Lavellan x Abelas is my crack ship. I love them. I also feel like he's the one character who could come back into her life and drive Solas crazy with envy, no matter how far away he was at the time. 
Her moving on with Cullen, that's expected and beneath him. Her moving on with another Elvhen. "NO!" The drama I envision in my head is beautiful.
My Adaar is as incompatible with Solas as it gets. No jealousy here!
I thought they did a good job of the NPC/NPC flirt stuff in this game...except that apparently the Blackwall/Josie dialogue is bugged and fires even if you're romancing one of them. Deeply not ok.

I don't know. Iron Bull commented on my freaky elf eyes. Though that might just be because I didn't romance him.
I think the hip swaying helps too. Because my goodness. So much hip swaying. I try to ignore it most of the time, then my fiance points it out. And then we have an awkward staring at the hip swaying moment.
I actually like the fact that although they will romance Lavellan, they're not necessarily into her. Like Iron Bull, and Sera. Though I do still kind of want to write about Solas and Sera fighting over her a little. Just a little. I was disappointed in the lack of jealousy dialogue.
Also kinda disappointed in the lack of acknowledgement for the romance. I miss the teasing about it from Origins.
I'd also love to hear Sera's names for the non-romanced Inquisitor come up in banters. "Look at her gracious lady bits go!"
I actually like that there's no jealousy or little jealousy. It makes the Inquisition members seem more mature, to not be squabbling over petty romantic problems when the world is being literally torn apart and assaulted by demons.
Besides which, jealousy may lend easy drama, but it's really an ugly emotion. I'm not saying no one should be exclusive in a romance; I prefer exclusivity. But jealousy and possessiveness are not healthy relationship behaviors at all. I like to think that the cast of DAI are confident enough in themselves to not freak out over the Inquisitor having friends other than her or his romantic interest, and to work through it like adults should it actually turn out that there is another romantic interest. Sera is the one possible exception, being the most childish of the available LIs. And I could see Cassandra being infuriated. Still, as far as female Lavellan is concerned, I'd guess the only one you'd need to worry about is Sera.

Abelas. I don't know what it is about him. I really hope we seem him again some day! And I hope he finds some sort of happiness so he can change his name like Solas said.
I really, really loved Abelas. My headcanon for Crythwen is that after she passed on the title of Inquisitor to another she went and decided to travel, eventually stumbling across a conclave that Abelas and his kin had created. What starts as a brief respite turns into more, and eventually she comes to live amongst them for a time, finding a rare kinship that she didn't expect to find after the way her pleas for help were dismissed so cruelly at the Temple. How long she stays with them isn't something I've decided upon, as I know she'd travel to visit everyone and see the world, but I like to think she and Abelas became close in a familial sense.

He does look interesting, though, I'll give him that. Like he could tell you stories about things. Very mystical. Though he wouldn't be my first choice of romance necessarily, I wouldn't mind him returning even as a companion in the next DA game.

The painted-on armor certainly helps...thighs. But I actually do like his face. I don't know what it is...it's just so interesting. I like his big nose and his yellow eyes, maybe. And the color and shape of his lips. I need to stop typing now.

It's an elf thing for me.
Well, any Lavellan x Abelas relationship I actually imagine is post-game after Solas has already left. If he's feeling angsty and jealous about the situation, it's because he's already walked away. In that scene, Solas shows none of the behavior he usually gets when he's feeling snippy. He's compassionate toward Abelas, he encourages him to find a new duty and a new life. (Though, he totally blows his cover as being "just an apostate", I mean come on!)
What I like about Abelas is that if you approach him right, he's actually very considerate. Lavellan (or any Quizzy) has the opportunity to confuse him and surprise him. She represents the world and a people he has been locked away from. He doesn't recognize her as like him, but the potential is there. If he ends up attracted to her, it's because he's attracted to the same qualities that attracted Solas in the first place. He's obviously not Solas, they have very little in common and his relationship with Lavellan would be very different. For one thing, it would be built on honesty. Still, because of who she is Lavellan has the potential to be a bridge between the modern elves and the ancient elves. Abelas represents her only chance other than the Well to learn some of the secrets of who their people were that Solas won't discuss. She represents a way to help him learn to live in the modern world and maybe even help the current generation of elves in the process instead of continuing to hide from them.
I like to think she makes him curious.

I think we have all discovered that we like mysterious men who hold old or forgotten knowledge. Clearly Abelas would be no Solas, but you just know that he has some amazing stories. If there is anything that will make my virtual panties drop it's lore and stories. Solas, for instance, uses this weakness in us to his advantage. He knows what he is doing. That smarmy bastard. Stealing our hearts with snippets of lore.
Besides Abelas is much more approachable than Solas is. So maybe he wouldn't break our hearts. Not that it matters, because my Lavellan could never be with another man. Once you go Ancient Elvhen God ... you never go back.

It's less his looks for me, though I desperately want that armor of his for my own. Personally I actually kind of like his serious, and sometimes snippy personality. The fact that he's an ancient elf and keeper of lore helps immensely as well. There's so much you could learn from him, and the thought of my Lavellan and he possibly easing each other into their respective world views is something I've sort of headcanon'd since I first met him in the game. That, and why he continues to guard the well so desperately when he's clearly unhappy there and knows the world has changed from what he knew is fascinating to me. I just want someone to pick him and start picking apart the layers.
I was thinking, there's been a lot of talk about how "weak" Solas is, given what he is.
For starters, I think he expended a tremendous amount of energy doing whatever it was he did, and that energy should have slowly regenerated as he slept... but it didn't.
So why would that be the case?
I think it's because he's not really worshiped anymore, except by the Dalish who only leave token offerings to appease him. They don't really WORSHIP him. If he has some connection to spirits, and I believe the ancient elven gods do, in some way, then he needs people to believe in him as well as behave in ways that represent the ideal he represents, or he grows weaker, and perhaps ceases to exist.
Of course there's also the separation of the Fade and the waking world, too.

I can see my Lavellan seeking Abelas out as well, though not necessarily leaving the Inquisition. Girl wants to know more of what happened to the elves of the past, learn - and perhaps unlearn - some of their lost culture.
Ah, and now after reading pages upon pages of the thread (you guys rock!), I'm feeling torn about the decision at the Well of Sorrows now. In the moment, I felt like my Lavellan was just so desperately clinging to any knowledge of their heritage, and losing the Well would mean losing centuries of pretty much that. She felt like Abelas wanting to destroy the thing was wasteful and selfish. But now in retrospect... maybe it would've been better that that knowledge was lost, knowing how the demise of the elves was their own doing?
