So...we haven't heard back from Patrick or any other dev as to whether Solas is also suffering from the eye colour bug? With Cullen's info release, he gets added to the list of characters with the wrong eye colour, including Vivienne, Sera, Lelianna, and maybe Solas.

I think that once (if?) they change his eye colour back to blue/grey/violet and wipe off the manscara ( ), then he will look a lot more like his original close up screen. Other than the eye colour issue, the other thing that makes him look a little bit different from earlier shots is that he looks...I dunno less feature-ey or something, like the way his skin was rendered in the older shots makes him look more realistic, whereas in the new close up his skin looks a little more washed out and...less refined? Other than that, I really don't think the shape of his head or features have changed all that much, if at all, I really just think he looks different with every photo we see of him, due to lighting, facial expressions and the angle of the photo. As we can see with Cullen's new appearance, depending on those things (lighting, expression, and angle) he can look like a completely different person. I don't think I can really settle on how Solas *actually* looks until I see him in motion, because right now he looks like a completely different person in every single screen of him!

Also, absolutely loving the fanart   I will have to try and bribe my boyfriend with cookies to get him to draw a picture of our favourite bald elf for everyone, as I haven't an artistic bone in my body!

Personally I like the newer screen shots. The lighter eyes might be nice, but I mentioned before that the pale eyebrows and eyelashes really washed out his face. Admittedly pale brows and lashes can be attractive, but on an already pale character with no hair, his facial features seemed dull and faded to me. That and it just all around made him look a lot older than I think he's supposed to be. like 40s/50s rather than 30s.

I think you're right. It's not just the lighting that's different in those screenshots, no way. Look between the middle picture and the one on the right. His nose shape is COMPLETELY different in both and there's no way that's a trick of the lighting. They must still be tweaking his face.

 

Of the three, the one in the middle is my favorite (dat nose) so I hope they keep him looking more like that 

 

The middle one is so striking because it makes him look kind of feline, which is awesome. I wonder if that's what they were going for with DA2 elves but they ended up straying too much into Na'vi territory.

Hmm...I wonder how recent this screen shot is in terms of when Solas was tweaked, because Varric has pretty dark hair in this screen, which was later changed to a lighter, dirty blonde colour, so it's very possible that this was an earlier version of Solas that has since been tweaked.

 

But, again, he looks so different in all of his shots, so who knows Although I do love him in this shot His skin texture looks so much more detailed and refined and...realistic compared to his most recent close-ups!
