Maybe it's just because the Dalish use a welsh accent, but I like to think this song represents my Lavellan before the events at Haven. :D

Spoiler

Dalish elves have so far been depicted with American (possibly also Canadian and English? I can't remember the accent of every Dalish elf which appeared in DA:O - DA:O was before they had Welsh and Irish accents), Welsh and Irish accents. Brave is Scottish, the singer in that song has a Scottish accent. ^^

Then there's the Witch Hunt dialogue:

Spoiler

And this bit from Flemeth in DA:2:

Spoiler

I know everyone has their own theories about all those, but I feel like we haven't seen a big change yet. We've averted a lot of change, and the world is basically the same as it was in DA:O. So...something bigger this way comes? Considering southern Thedas sees a potentially world-ending crisis every five years or so, maybe it's time to try something new anyway.

Interesting that neither seem to feel the change will be a negative one. Very curious to see how all of this plays out.

I think Solas is INTP rather than INTJ because I think his dominant function is Ti rather than Ni.

I don't agree with you, he is typical INTJ. Also, I think socionica is a crappy antiscience, but still, don't agree with INTP type for Solas xDDD

Adding to the Solas soundtrack, here's one of my all time favorite songs, live version:

Here's the studio version, which I personally find more intense:

Considering how well he implements his ideas... I thought j's plans had higher success rate. And I agree, it's not hard science, but it's fun.

As an aside: it would be one thing if you could deviate from the path in this instance and pick it up at a later point when you'd bonded a bit more, but (and hey, Bioware: I'm not fond of this) it seems if you ever don't pick the heart option immediately every time it appears in Solas' conversation, you're off his romance wagon forever.  ...which is how I boned my first playthrough without realizing it, by inquiring about something he'd said instead of responding with a flirt, which then disappeared as an option after his answer.  Boo.

The first time I flirted with Solas was in the Fade with the 'whole world moved?' line and I got the option to kiss him.  Not taking flirts prior to this doesn't lock you out of the romance.

This just gives me goosebumps.  I never assumed that this change would be negative.  Something bigger definitely coming.  I wonder if it would be eeked out until the end of the Dragon Age, the big change would be a new age and thus the end of the series...*swallows*

Also... the first flirt line with him, saying she'll do whatever she can to protect him as an apostate elf, isn't really that flirty.  It's more like a moment of solidarity between them (whether both as elves and/or mages).  She's got his back and understands his predicament because they're both outsiders (even though she now has some power as the "Herald").

Now the other two flirts with him (though mostly playful teasing) when asking him about himself, yeah, they are actually flirty.

the 'whole world moved?' line

Pfffft, putting it like that just makes me think of that cheesy "did the earth move for you too?" one-liner.

"A figure of speech" indeed.

I'll just put this... here... <_<

I am so bad at doing that. I get it right like... once out of every 20 tries. My fingers aren't fast enough. lol

Lavellan why are you wearing your pajamas under your armor?

If you look closely, a LOT of the companions also wear their jammies under their "armor". Solas for example... his starting armor is just a vest-type thing on top of his jammies. lolol

I'm going by cognitive function stackings rather than the stereotypical personality profile attached to the type. I think his dominant function is Ti not Ni, hence INTP.

Personality typing systems like MBTI aren't science, not even psychology. It's still an interesting thought exercise. :)

Maybe OT, but I'm picturing my Lavellan alone in a dark old ruin, knees to her chest, trying to get asleep to feel a bit closer to him. :crying:

The feels.

Sorry guys, today was a long day, and I'm listening to The Promise by Tracy Chapman. Not helping.

Flemeth does point out in DA:I that she raised Morrigan to think as she does, so it's not too surprising that Morrigan is of a similar mind. Witch Hunt Morrigan seems to know more about Flemeth/her plans than Inquisition Morrigan, which is a bit weird. I'm excited to see where it goes. I hope they just resolve some mysteries and pile on more so the series goes on forever xD

We're here for you!

I definitely think my Lavellan goes to the ruins of his village to try to find memories in the Fade. Field trip with Cole!

Well, it's not like they couldn't start up another series and name it after the next age.  :)

Being at work is really screwing with my whole 'spend the day online psychoanalyzing video game characters' goal today.

You just ruined my "psychology is science!!!11!!1" opinion with this sentence xDDD, but the thought about his dominant function is interesting, I'll think about it)))

*cuddles tightly* I hope your day goes better. ): We're here with cuddles and hugs!

Also, it's funny how being dead tired does wonders for art. I was going to scrap this picture of Solas and Crythwen I'm working on until I figured out how to make it work in the middle of the night. Yay sleep deprivation!

I have built up so much sleep debt because of DA:I.  Also, it turns out that writing smut while tired is good for getting over the modesty hurdle ("OMG I can't believe I'm typing this what is wrong with me") but bad for things like grammar and punctuation.

Hey guys, little question: So, I've got my mage Taleyah Lavellan, who did this huge mistake regarding Leliana, so I will end up with crazy spymaster deluxe in the future. I still love her, but I recently started noticing all of the little mistakes in her face. But I already have around 20 hours of playtime with her, so I don't know if I should drop her or not. Or if she should end up as my 'canon' playthrough after all. I haven't even gotten the first Solas romance scene yet, ugh.

And then there is my new Quizzy, Lenalas, a warrior elven lady. I love her design and can't wait to play a tough lady that won't take 'no' for an answer. I end up loving her more and more, despite being in the Prologue still. She definitely looks less babyfaced than Taleyah does and I just can't imagine how much fun it will be to play someone that has no problems being over the top protective and routhless all at once.

...which Lavellan would you go with? Should I finish my first run and then do a completionist run with Lenalas? Ugh, so many decisions and possibilities! X_X

The wait for the hotfix for the patch is at least keeping me away from DA: I today... The graphics changes bother me too much, heh.

Well, if it was me, I'd restart, because, as a completionist, I'll only ever have one runthrough.  I have over 20 game saves in the Keep due to the problems you are having now, and I'm holding off on starting again because Adela says her hairstyles will probably only be for character creation.  :(

The good part about starting so many characters in the character creator is that you know exactly how to make the character you want after a certain amount of tries.  :D

It totally is. "How the hell did I write/draw this?" Goes to ->. "This is fine! Publish/post it!"  I'm just hoping I remember to go back after I get my sleep to fix all the issues.

I dropped the first iteration of my Lavellan after 12-13 hours, and started over again.  You're going to spend well over 100 hours with the character if you're going completionist; IMO losing playtime is less important than making sure it's a character you can play for that long.

Having seen Solas' greatest fear in the Fade, the reason why a lot of the apparently non-flirty flirt lines exist make a whole lot more sense to me.  Part of his romance is reminding him that he's not alone and someone now cares for him deeply.  It's why he's so touched by her comment that she'd protect him.  I can almost see it as many of the flirt lines being more how Solas falls in love with Lavellan, rather than her actually flirting with him, if that makes sense.
